- Matthias M.July 2024Positive tingBeautiful peninsula, very good children's entertainment, large pitchesNegative tingOutrageously high prices, annoyed service staff, beach loungers cost €14, hardly any shade in the overcrowded pool area, booking only from Sat-Sat, beach area very dirty from midday onwardsNot good value! The welcome at reception was very warm and courteous. We were given some information and a voucher for a welcome drink. At €255.62/day (for a pitch!), a bit of "premium" is allowed.
When we arrived at the pitch, we first had to clear it of the previous tenants' garbage. Unfortunately, we had a pitch... without tree shade, but with enough electricity for our air conditioning. Water connection and gray water drainage were also available.
Advantages and disadvantages briefly summarized:.
- The pool area opens at 10:00 a.m. At 10:15 a.m. there are hardly any shady spots left. Many loungers are only reserved with towels! If you want a lounger, you should queue at 9:30 in what felt like a 500m long line in front of the pool area.
- The shower facilities were very clean, but there was no hot water in some showers.
- The restaurants offer good quality, but at horrendous prices. 2 adults + 1 child approx. 100 - 150€
- The pitches are obviously not cleaned
- Some stores in the plaza only accept cash. The ATM charges €5 for each withdrawal!
- The children's entertainment is very good. Without exception, all the staff were extremely helpful.
- The supermarket offers a free delivery service, the pizzeria does not.
- The water quality left a lot to be desired at our time due to the algae bloom.
- Bookings are only accepted from Saturday to Saturday.
- Checkout is easy, but somewhat impersonal, via the Valamar app.
We entered our checkout time in the app as 11:00. However, at 08:30 a >7.5t motorhome was already standing annoyed in front of our pitch, asking us to leave as quickly as possible!
All in all, a good campsite at outrageous prices. The interests of Valamar's shareholders are clearly in the foreground here. It has nothing to do with camping ... What a pity.Automatisk oversatt. - Sigrid W.April 2024Positive tingCovered parking spaces for cars; cleanliness of the facility; very friendly staffNegative tingno disadvantages for usA wonderful campsite that leaves nothing to be desired. We rented a beautiful mobile home at the beginning of April, which was perfectly equipped. All you had to do was move in. Air conditioning, heating, kitchen equipment etc. - Everything was perfect! The whole complex is very well maintained. We will definitely be back again.Automatisk oversatt.
- Florian R.September 2023Positive tingCleanliness, friendliness of the staff, offer, very nice pitches, huge offer, super beaches, very varied and high quality food offer.Negative tingDesired pitch €200 to €300 extra. Many activities on the campsite at an extra charge with a high cost factor (but with outstanding quality)For me the best campsite in EuropeA well-maintained place with an unsurpassable range of different restaurants, various beautiful beaches adapted to your needs, absolute cleanliness and extremely friendly, motivated and absolutely knowledgeable staff.Automatisk oversatt.
- Anna K.September 2023Positive tingbeautifully tidy "camping" site spacious pitches modern, very clean sanitary facilities incredibly great pool area modern and beautifulNegative tinglittle shade Excessive prices for the washing machine seeeeeeery small quasi non-existent supermarket no "real" town nearby nothing for real campers, more like a mobile home complexbeautiful facility but not for usThis campsite was our first trip with our new motorhome. We liked it very much on the whole, but we wouldn't come back a second time. the landscape and the beach are incredibly beautiful, the whole complex is very modern and we really like the style! the pool area is spacious and the sunbeds are included.... we were there in September and didn't even have to pay for the sunbeds on the beach. The staff are friendly, the food on offer is good but only average, the prices are a bit higher but didn't shock us. In general, the campsite is designed more for mobile homes and not really for campers. I also have to mention that a washing machine for €10 and the dryer for €8 are absolutely outrageous! Our laundry didn't even get clean, but it smelled good. TIP: Some washing machines recognize the 1€ pieces as tokens (worth 2€) so the load then only costs 5€.Automatisk oversatt.
- Claudia P.July 2023Positive tingCampsite, quite Quiet well-kept with no complaintsNegative tingThere was a bit of a shortage of space for playing with the dog, and toilet paper in the morningHoliday 2024Overall, the place is nice. I kind of missed the family atmosphere. Everyone behaves very formally, we, however, prefer a relaxed atmosphere on vacation. I recommend to everyone, for a quick sleepAutomatisk oversatt.
- Sandra K.July 2023Positive tingVery clean, attractive and pretty. Great pool areaNegative tingNo gray water drain on site, the sunbeds on the beach cost extra,Great place that costs a lotWe were there with 2 families (4 adults, 6 teenagers) and spent a really nice 14 days on the campsite. The site is really well maintained and very clean! At the weekend, the beach bar opposite is sometimes a bit loud with music. What the heck, we're on vacation and if necessary we just have to put plugs... in our ears and be done with it! The many people staying on the pitch are well distributed, as the pitch is huge. There are various restaurants. However, many of them are simply completely overpriced. Tourists can quickly reach the port of Funtana and find 2 great but inexpensive restaurants here. There are various sections of beach at the campsite, so everyone can find a spot. However, the people in the beach & pool area are also quickly on the spot and actually charge a fee for the sunbeds. I find that really outrageous considering the price of the pitches.
Another thing that simply doesn't work is the lack of a waste water connection on the pitch in the first and therefore most expensive rows of pitches.
All in all, it's a great, well-kept, spacious and varied site, which is already expensive per se, but all the extras, which cost even more, and not a little, really go beyond the scope.Automatisk oversatt. - zala b.April 2023Positive tingI liked that the camp has a bakery and swimming pools where I like the slides the most.Negative tingI liked everything.vipoljeI liked our plot. In the evening, when we were sitting in front of the motor home, we saw hedgehogs several times.Automatisk oversatt.
- Ralph W.September 2022Positive tingLarge plots separated by hedges, directly on the beach, top sanitary facilitiesNegative tingLong distances, very expensiveVery nice expensive huge place!Beautifully laid out site, very well maintained, very quiet at night, we felt really comfortable.Automatisk oversatt.
- Dana R.September 2022Positive tingHuge campsite. We were on the C pitch with a good view of the sea. Gravelled pitches and shaded by trees. Directly behind us was a nice large modern wash house with individual shower cubicles. There is a lot on offer for children here. (Maro children animation) Even if we traveled without children we could see that well,) We had a dog that was welcome everywhere. A dog shower with hot water was also available. Child-friendly beach sections. Dog beach directly at the campsite. Friendly staff. Mini market, bakery, butcher, beach store and various restaurants available on site. Not to forget ice cream. Huge pool area, also very child-friendly. Fun for big and small children. Bicycle tours possible to vrisar about 4 km and Porec about 10km. Sanitary facilities very clean. 24/7 fitness with equipment possible. Offers for yoga, pilates, cardio training etc. Top 👍🏻Negative tingIf you don't book a seaside pitch, the beach is not just around the corner. These pitches are only partially filled with gravel and consist largely of clay soil. Chaos is inevitable after a rainy day. Restaurants on site with steep prices. Funtana is a small village that doesn't offer much apart from restaurants and a supermarket. If you arrive by motorhome and have no means of transportation, you are tied to the site. Boat trips are also not possible here. I really missed a shopping mile, which for me is part of a vacation. Small souvenir stores, café after café.Vacation at a 5 star campsiteBeautiful campsite with some beautiful parcels overlooking the sea. Top sanitary facilities, very child and dog friendly. Dog beach on site. Access to the water suitable for everyone. Funtana unfortunately offered us nothing. It's also a shame that you can't get around by water on site. Boat trips not possible. Highly recommended for families with children. We will not come back due to the lack of facilities if you are traveling with a motorhome!Automatisk oversatt.
- Diana S.August 2022Positive tingthere is something for everyoneNegative tingtoo largemuch too bigIt's a great site, but it was definitely too big and too confusing for us. There's no life outside the campsite, so it wasn't for us. There were also too many Germans there for our taste....
And another thing that bothered us was that the whole toilet is simply closed in the morning when the cleaning team arrives...Automatisk oversatt. - Christoph B.July 2022Positive tingAlmost everythingNegative tingRestVery nice family campsiteThe campsite offers almost everything and is in very good condition. The Maro Club is great. The sanitary facilities are very clean. The use of the aquapark on the sea is chargeable which is a pity. The peace and quiet is a problem as the party bar on the other side of the bay is very audible and the evening entertainment is also very audible on the campsite itself.Automatisk oversatt.
- Julian K.August 2021Positive tingWell-kept site, visually appealing and with facilities befitting a premium camping resort. Good children's facilitiesNegative tingthe showers in the wash houses, the kamikaze employees on the electric vehicles and numerous additional costs for many offersa very expensive place, which then incurs many additional costs! We spontaneously stayed on the Istra for 3 nights without a reservation. Apart from the fact that we were only offered one of the most expensive pitches, we didn't necessarily want to look at the money for the 3 nights and gratefully accepted.
Naive as we were, however, we expected some kind of all-inclusive... pitch. With pitch prices of over 100 euros just for the pitch without people (at the end of August), we thought that things like the water trampolines etc. would be included.
But that was not the case. We had to pay another 30 euros for the day. And of course things like mini golf etc. all cost extra.
So far so good, then in the evening we went to the wash house for a shower and we could hardly believe our eyes. The shower went off every 3 seconds. We actually stopped it...
Saving water is the right thing to do, but it really stops when it comes to time. And then there's the lack of temperature consistency. You don't actually have the same temperature for 2 seconds. Everything from ice cold to scalding hot. So you're constantly pressing the shower and hoping the temperature is at least bearable. Children can hardly shower alone in the children's shower.
But the crowning glory is the employees on the electric vehicles. Several times we have seen campers almost being knocked over right next to us. They also drove across lawns where the whole vehicle would have almost tipped over. All to get from A to B a little faster.
There are several bakeries etc. Not bad but also in line with the overall price level... upmarket.
Since 75% of the site consists of mobile homes anyway, it is also clear where the journey is going. Either the camper pays the same price for the pitch as the mobile home resident or there will soon be no more camper pitches at all.
Conclusion: We have seen it now and will definitely not be coming back. The children's entertainment should be praised, even for different ages.Automatisk oversatt. - Sonja D.June 2021Positive tingCrystal clear waterNegative tingCameras at the parking spaces ( since 2021 ) Loungers must be paid for ( since 2021 )Vacation Istra Premium ResortWe are here at istra Premium resort for the third and probably last year in 2021. The site is very well maintained - sanitary facilities very clean. Unfortunately, since this year you have to pay extra for the sunbeds (despite the already high pitch fees). As a result, all the loungers (with very few... exceptions) are actually free and the displeasure of holidaymakers is spreading across the site. ......Pity 😔...
There are cameras hanging in the trees between the pitches ...... why ???? We will therefore be looking for another pitch next year.Automatisk oversatt. - Sabrina T.June 2021Positive tingOffer for childrenNegative tingWash houses Parking space floor TopographyOnly partly 5 starsA really nice place, everything is new and very well maintained. There is a huge range of activities for children. The Maro Club is better equipped than most kindergartens. It's also great that you can spend time here with the children in the evening.
I can't award 5 stars for:
- The wash houses, a children's... shower and a baby bath are simply not enough. Temperature control in the showers is a disaster. In the high season, the number of showers could also be tight
- Opening hours of the stores, kiosk only open at lunchtime, butcher only at lunchtime, you can't really see through. Very long waiting time at the bakery
- Pitch floor, the brown earth is very hard, even through the awning floor. When it rains, everything turns to brown mud.
However, our pitch was very nice in terms of size and facilities. We were in the Marina B area on a standard pitch with a double axle + car. We rarely manage that. We actually wanted a nice pitch with a sea view in the Bella Vista area, but unfortunately there was nothing available there. However, the nice man at reception recommended that we stay in the upper area with the children. I was very grateful to him for this tip. The site is really very spacious and steep. I didn't want to make this hike with the children every time from the pitches with a sea view.Automatisk oversatt. - Tobias H.August 2020Positive tingLeisure facilities, location, aqua park, very nice staffNegative tingGround conditions on partly sloping pitches, sanitary facilities are not 5 star, annoying "salesmen" at the pitchesGood place... but not perfectWe stayed here at the end of August/beginning of September 2020 with our two children (aged 5 & 8).
Especially with children, the really huge range of leisure activities is an advantage, be it the aqua park or all the possibilities from the Maro Club to the cinema. There was never a dull moment here!...
The island, which is accessed via a small pontoon bridge and has lots to discover, is certainly a special experience.
Access to the sea is easy, even with a handcart, and there are sunbathing areas on the pebble beach as well as on a spacious lawn.
The piazza offers good shopping opportunities as well as evening entertainment for young and old.
We ate in the Oliva restaurant and also in the Grano Duro pizzeria.
Why the place does not deserve 5 stars in our eyes:
On the day we arrived, it wasn't just raining, it was literally pouring. We found ourselves in ankle-deep sticky mud on the ground pitches. On a site in this price category, the pitches should be gravelled or laid out so that this doesn't happen, even if it rarely rains.
Furthermore, the sanitary area (in our case house 5) was not really clean. Even after 3 days of sunshine, the floor was still covered in brown mud. I usually saw the cleaning lady scurrying around the building with a vacuum cleaner rather unmotivated.
The showers on the outside wall of the building only had cold water, the showers on the other side only had cold water at first, then only hot water, then it regulated itself... at some point. And after every press of the tap.
In our eyes, this is not a 5-star standard.
It was also really annoying that several times a day a stranger stood at the pitch and advertised dolphin trips, party boats or some restaurant. You absolutely don't need that on vacation.Automatisk oversatt. - Christian G.July 2020Positive tingAquapark, infrastructure, offer, large pitches, very cleanNegative tingToo many mobile homes and glamping tents, and these in a prime location, comparatively few pitches for campersGreat campsiteGreat 5* place within walking distance to Funtana. The campsite was only taken over and rebuilt by Valamar in 2019. In addition to a great aquapark, there is also a mini golf course, aquapark in the sea and many other attractions for children. There are restaurants, cafes, a supermarket, several bakery... stands, a cocktail bar, etc. on site. Everything was brand new and clean. The wash houses were also state of the art.
What bothered me as a camper was that there were far too many mobile homes and glamping tents on the site, especially in the best location. However, the pitches were quite large.
The access to the sea was quite shallow and had small stones, making it ideal for small children.
Funtana with its restaurants is also within easy walking distance.Automatisk oversatt. - Andreas T.September 2019Positive tingEverything you need availableNegative tingYes, some pitches have different sizes in the same category, then just swap themNew super placeWe've just been here for the last few days and wanted to make a comment. Some people don't like the fact that new straight pitches have been created, others don't like the sloping pitches in the old part of Marina A and Sunset. In the old part there are lots of shady places under trees but not level,... in the new part there are good level gravel places but the trees for shade still have to grow. What does 5 star actually mean? Super pool area, is there. Super W - Lan, is there. Cinema, theater, animation for all is also there. Restaurants, market, bakery stands in every area, everything is there. Super cleanliness in the sanitary area, all this is not for free. But I know that beforehand, so I only go to a 2-star campsite. I thought it was great here.Automatisk oversatt.
- Hubert S.August 2019Positive tingSanitary tip top cleanNegative tingLittle shade on the new pitchesGreat, new CPWe stayed at this new campsite for 10 days in August. We (54, 46, 19 and 17 years old) liked it very much. The pool, sanitary facilities, restaurant and infrastructure are top notch. With the new pitches, air conditioning wouldn't hurt, as it's very sunny.Automatisk oversatt.
- Janine P.August 2019Positive tingEverything clean, staff is helpful and friendly, nice pitches, very clean sanitary facilitiesNegative tingThere is noVery nice clean campsiteWe've been there twice this year and have already booked for next year. The sanitary facilities are very clean and the staff are very friendly. There is a lot on offer for children. The water park with its many slides is gigantic.Automatisk oversatt.
- Jutta S.August 2019Positive tingLots of options, very friendly staff, very clean wash houses and a great pool areaNegative tingIn the newer area little shade, parking lot atmosphere, very loud party noise from the campsite opposite during the day and at nightGreat new campsite with many possibilities, but unfortunately much too loudWe are now in Croatia for the 3rd time and wanted to try out the new Valamar campsite this year. the campsite is very nice, clean and the staff very friendly. Unfortunately there is very little shade in the new part. But the worst thing is the constant party noise from the campsite in the bay opposite. Unfortunately, it is not possible to sleep peacefully at night. Too bad, so we will certainly not come back.Automatisk oversatt.
