Friendly and relaxed "operators" who know what you want as a camper.
Negative ting
The last 3 kilometers to the campsite (bad road); but the "operator" can't help it.
Feel-good camping
We stayed at this beautiful campsite for 5 days and felt at home right from the start. Starting with the extremely warm welcome, the always clean sanitary facilities and the peace and quiet on the site with spacious pitches and a view of the wildlife (squirrels).
Located directly on the lake, the campsite leaves nothing to be desired.
We will definitely be back!

Positive ting
In addition to the beautiful location of the campsite, a decisive plus point was added in 2024. The new groundsman couple - Marlies and Uwe - are an absolute asset to the campsite. Cleanliness, service, friendliness and holidaymaker satisfaction are their top priorities. We have never experienced this in this form during our decades of permanent camping. Thank you and keep up the good work.

The access road is unfortunately a bit bumpy.

Top location, clean lake, pure nature.
Pitches not all in a row - great! Clean sanitary facilities, kiosk with everything you need for basic supplies and more.

Unkempt and run-down
A paradise, if it weren't for...
if it weren't for the unkempt and run-down condition of the site. Two small paths to the lake are completely inadequately secured. Permanent campers stash their belongings in the forest. Many things are in need of repair, the jetty is a joke (for the money). No service for the dog (bags, garbage can,... shower, beach...), but it costs. Storage for tools, firewood, compost give the impression "why doesn't anyone clear this away?" As soon as you arrive, you see a shed on the sanitary building that urgently needs to be replaced. In our opinion, the campsite perhaps once deserved its stars, but that must have been a long time ago. It could be a gem in a fantastic location. We highly recommend the corner store in Wustrow (coffee and cake and nice chats) and the fisherman in Canow. He offers smoked, raw fish and fish dishes. Delicious!

Ingeniously located
We spent two days there on our canoe trip and were really impressed. A great lake with a cool bathing island and beautiful shoreline. It's also one of the best places for water hikers that we had on the whole 10 lakes tour. You have to walk a few meters uphill, but you stand under tall trees and have a great view of the lake. As the site is a bit isolated, I just wonder what you do as a family if you stay for a whole week and have rainy weather.

... i felt very comfortable there. the basic needs are covered 100 %. the site is in good condition and the overall geographical impression (low to moderate tree population, unobstructed view of an excellent lake panorama, well-kept - spacious sand playground, no through traffic, simply great !!!) is to be recommended ...

I have known the place since the beginning of the 1950s. Back then, this was still a functioning timber yard. The logs brought in by horse-drawn carts were assembled into rafts near the shore for transportation by water. From 1964, I regularly spent vacations here with my family and witnessed the development... and growth of the campsite. Of course, I also got to know all the campsite wardens one after the other. In comparison, the current employees of the campsite operator Haveltourist, the Zeckert couple, are very friendly and helpful. Of course, it is often a balancing act between the economic interests of the operator and the wishes of the guests. You should also bear in mind that the high season is often stressful. I certainly hope that the Zeckert couple will stay with us for the time I have left at Pälitz. Perhaps then there will be an opportunity "ex officio" to do a bit more to ensure that the midday peace is respected. Overall, however, the place is highly recommended. I was last here from April to September 2013

the campsite was in a nice location and also reasonably quiet. unfortunately, however, the operators were very unfriendly and unhelpful. for example, i had a severe allergic reaction during my stay and the question about the nearest pharmacy was answered by the operators with a simple "there is no pharmacy".... polite requests for an order of bread rolls outside the specified times and the selection of a campsite were also met with very unfriendly reactions. as a guest, you felt rather unwelcome.
