Dirty sanitary facilities, very narrow pitches
Unfortunately not as nice as I had hoped.
We stayed at the Nordal campsite for a total of two nights. We actually wanted to leave on the first evening (we would have done so if we hadn't paid for two nights). The campsite seems a bit confusing. It's very crowded, the guests stand close together. So it is very noisy. The showers work with a card... that you get when you check in. Theoretically great, because you can shower as often as you like. However, as soon as you enter the sanitary building, you are greeted by a pungent smell of urine. Although the rooms are supposed to be cleaned in the morning and evening, they seemed rather filthy and overflowing. We have been to many other places before and despite the mass of visitors, the sanitary facilities were never so smelly. The kitchen was fine, nothing special. The town itself offers shopping facilities. Next time we'd rather stay at the small campsite next door.

In addition to the pitches right next to the reception, there are other pitches for motorhomes / caravans (flat and paved) but also space for tents. The sanitary facilities are clean (single cabins), but not enough for full occupancy in my opinion. We use the site when passing through, but the central... location also recommends the site for longer stays. The center is within walking distance. The nearby road can hardly be heard. Electricity is centrally located at the pitches. Water connections are decentralized.

Good location for exploring Jotunheimen NP
The campsite is located directly in Lom, with a view of the stave church. There is a pitch area right next to the reception, but these pitches also border directly on the main road through Lom and are not recommended from our point of view, as noise pollution is to be expected there. We chose a pitch... on the lower grass area and it was quiet here. The pitches are all level and on grass. Lom can be easily and comfortably explored on foot from here, and the famous stave church is just a few minutes' walk over a bridge. The sanitary facilities are very nice (single cabins) and very clean. There is a sauna, which is included in the price! There is also a large kitchen and a TV room, as well as a small children's playground. Only the price is far too high in our opinion and was the most expensive on our 3-month round trip! On the other hand, you can explore the surrounding area and the Jotunheimen NP from here.

Styr unna!!!
Har vært her en del ganger. Campingen var helt flott med nye sanitæranlegg, og ble kåret til årets camping i 2006. Etter dette har renhold og service gått nedover. 280 kroner for en oppstillingsplass med campingvogn er uhørt når renholdet på sanitæranlegget er under enhver kritikk. Mugg og dritt samme... når på døgnet jeg var innom. Dette har blitt verre og verre år for år. Jeg har flere ganger gjennom årene sagt ifra i resepsjonen, men får ikke svar en gang. Flyttet derifra i dag, og kommer aldri mer tilbake. Har reist med campingvogn i 35 år både i Norge og flere andre land, så jeg mener jeg vet hva jeg snakker om.J

Nice place and base for trips to the mountains, but very noisy. a lot of noisy young people, the excavator working opposite our cottage (construction of a children's playground) also disturbed the peace.
