- Phil c.June 2021PozytywneNoneNegatywnehorrible company to deal withAvoid this campsiteAvoid this campsite. Had booked to stay in July 2021 but due to covid travel restrictions we were unable to travel. When we booked we took out insurance in case this happened but a couple of months ago they changed their insurance so covid travel restrictions we now not covered. We asked to defer the booking until next year but they refused to accommodate us. We are now out of pocket by €900. Stay clear of this campsite.
- Anna W.August 2020PozytywneLocation Camping site Friendly staffNegatywneWash houses VolumeBeautiful vacation on the AtlanticThe campsite is beautifully laid out and the pitches are very large. They are not always perfectly rectangular, which gives the site a certain charm. The beach is also just a few minutes' walk away. The ground consists of sand and pine leaves, so that rainwater can run off easily and there are no puddles... or mud. The staff are helpful, friendly and speak several languages.
Unfortunately, it was often very loud at night, especially in the playground. Here it would be desirable if more attention was paid to the night's rest after midnight. Especially in times of Covid-19, the standard of hygiene was not sufficient. The soap was often empty and there was no disinfectant. The existing mask requirement was also not observed by most guests. Of course, this is not the campsite's fault, but more attention could have been paid to enforcement. In addition, there were no toilet brushes, so the traces of the previous toilet user were often still visible. I would have expected more from a campsite in this price category.Przetłumaczone automatycznie. - Stefan D.August 2019PozytywneGreat climate, everything clean and the staff super friendly. Sensational pool area for children.NegatywnePrice is simply too expensive !!!Rest and relaxation*** Addendum 2019*** The cleanliness left a lot to be desired this year. Many places in the shower are only wiped out and not cleaned. I observed it on the basis of a toothpaste stain in a cabin over two weeks of presence. The stain was there before arrival and was still there on departure. Note...a... very visible stain. At such an expensive price, cleanliness should be a top priority. The facilities themselves are getting on in years and an investment in some small things should definitely be made. Renew the joints, replace broken taps, etc. Toilet brushes for the toilets...never bothered me in previous years... but simply the opportunity to clean "the battlefield" of the previous one should be given. This year, for the first time in 24 years, I doubted traveling to this site. The price is now not only upmarket but simply too expensive. What a shame! The campsite has been with me since 1985 (24 times)! I'm afraid... it will no longer play a role with this price/performance ratio. *** Addition in 2016 *** Another year with a sensational vacation. ****** The campsite has everything a camper's heart desires. We are now there for the 22nd time. The campsite is clean and tidy, even at the height of the season. The people at reception are super friendly and multilingual. The pitches are large and easy to reserve in advance. The surroundings are quiet and the way to the beach is really not far. 500 m on foot and the sea is at your feet. NEXT YEAR AGAIN!Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Margaux G.August 2018PozytywneProximity to the beach.NegatywneVery noisy. Incivilities. Bikes everywhere, no respect for anything. Swimming pool ? ha bon...paddling pool I'd say...Impossible to enjoy.A disgrace! How can you have 5* in a campsite where anarchy reigns? Children and teenagers are king? There's incredible noise at all hours and the staff don't care. No matter how many times you ask them to keep things quiet, the response is cold and detached. On the other hand, if you're German, Dutch or English, you're guaranteed a warm welcome. To be avoided absolutely.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Francis S.August 2017PozytywneEnglish, German and Dutch language immersion.NegatywneWidespread anarchy and laxity. What a disgrace!Lamentable ....A second dismal stay and a deep general deterioration. Ideal campsite for learning German or English. The rest is general anarchy with the swimming pool as the main no-go zone. No rules are respected. It's a municipal campsite at 5-star prices. Bicycle accidents, fights, bathing shirts and briefs at... the pool, naked children without pool diapers, cigarettes, food... non-existent staff, wallowing all day on a deck and completely passive in all situations. To be avoided at all costs!Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Günter S.August 2016PozytywneLocation to the sea is great Pitches for Womo are flat, large and well shadedNegatywneSanitary facilities and washing stations are always dirty and from the 80s, depending on the distance to refill water.Where do the stars come from?Where do the stars come from, I ask myself? It's all just little things but they add up to a lot of incomprehension. The toilets are an imposition, as they are unfortunately constantly dirty - of course there is no toilet brush or toilet paper and the cleaning staff were apparently only active once a... day in the last week of August and the first week of September. Unfortunately, there are also no garbage cans for ladies in the toilets, which led to some unsightly mess. The showers are very small and also constantly dirty because there are no mops and again little cleaning. As the paths consist only of sand and gravel, a lot of it is naturally carried into the sanitary facilities. There are no garbage cans at the dishwashing areas and the drains and basins look accordingly. Ahh and go and wash up in good time, because there is no light there either. There are also no suitable taps for filling a water canister. Given the overall size, it would be appropriate to distribute several water points for fresh water. The place for draining the dirty water can only be operated by strong people. The manhole covers certainly weigh 40 - 60 kg and only a totally unsuitable hook made of structural steel is available to open them. A conversation describes the whole thing perfectly - while washing up, one guest said, "I've been coming here since 1979 and another one after that and I since 1984. The sanitary facilities and waste water disposal look the same. Copper pipes laid on plaster, small, only the bare essentials. I wasn't sure whether this was the standard here in the region and went to the Yelloh in Lacanau Ocean to have a look at the sanitary and washing facilities there. The situation there is the same as I know it from many other campsites in Italy, Switzerland and Croatia, which have a similar ADAC rating. The location is being exploited here - a pity really ... ...because it would really only be a few small things but definitely have a big impact! Toilet brushes (also toilet paper) Waste garbage cans in the showers and toilets - ladies really have problems there!!! Water scraper in the showers Retrofit the dishwashing areas with garbage cans for leftover food Light water outlets with appropriate flow Timely mixer taps Improve the hooks for the dirty water lids - shorten the front and make them a bit more round - a matter of 2 minutes with a vice and a flex. Don't finish the walkway two meters before the sanitary blocks --> much less dirt in the blocksPrzetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Eckard B.August 2016PozytywneGreat water fun for childrenNegatywne300 m through the village to the beach, small pitches not separated by vegetation at very expensive prices.Extremely expensiveWe were there in August 2016. We had read on the internet that the pitch costs around €48 per night. When we arrived, the receptionist told us that the pitch cost €76 per night and that the information on the internet was intended for two people with a tent and not for three people with a camper van.... The staff are super friendly and very well organized. The slide and paddling area for children is very large and great. The location is not directly on the beach as stated, but approx. 300 m away. There are no hedges or bushes between the pitches.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Georg J.August 2016PozytywneThe beach.NegatywnePrice-performance ratio is not right.Beautiful landscapeWe had a pitch that was unfortunately so bad that we left on Monday. What we liked very much was a lot of nature under the pine forest. The beach was very clean and is always worth a visit.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.

- Marcus L.September 2014PozytywneDirectly on the dunes (including the sound of the waves), super clean sanitary facilities, German-speaking reception,Negatywne- It's not cheap, but you get a lot in return. (no real disadvantage) - nothing else found !Always topWe've now been there four times with our tent and will be staying there more often. It's a great place, in the middle of the pine forest by the dunes. Although it is very busy in summer, you can still relax there. The sanitary facilities are distributed in such a way that nobody has to walk long distances... and are very clean! Security secures the entrances in the evening and patrols the area. The Cote d'Argent is simply an experience :-) - A tip: from mid-August it is advisable to bring a blanket for the car - the pine cones make hail-like dents :-)Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Tante K.August 2014PozytywneFriendly staff, large pitches (shady), beautiful beach and surroundingsNegatywneQuite expensive. Very crowded in high season, very large place. No special cities for sightseeing in the immediate vicinity.By far the best campsite compared to other campsites nearbyWe stayed at the site with 2 children and 2 adults in August 2014. We received a very friendly welcome (some of the reception staff speak fluent German) and our pitch requests by email were taken into consideration. The pitches are large enough, but not bordered by hedges or similar. So you often have... a view of the neighbors' front garden. However, our neighbors were very friendly, so the children played with the neighbors' children until late in the evening. The large pool area is more for the children, but they love to jump into the pool for a quick dip at lunchtime when their parents are still busy cleaning up and doing the dishes. The walk to the beach is relatively short if you're not so far back on the campsite. The site is huge and it takes a good quarter of an hour to walk from one end to the other. It's about 10 minutes from the reception to the sea. The path leads through a street with a few boutiques, restaurants and souvenir stores. At least one day a week there is something like a flea market in the street. Once you reach the sea, you have a wonderful view of the beach from the dune, which is huge at low tide but only 50 meters long when the tide is very high. Bathing is only permitted in a very well-guarded area, which is sometimes here and sometimes there, depending on the weather (and sea) conditions. On the beach, visitors clump together behind this bathing area, but after a few 100 meters you can also lie on the beach completely alone. The beach is clean and fine-grained, ideal conditions. Swimming in the sea takes some getting used to, but after an initial period of getting used to it, it also has its charm: in the high season, you stand in the bathing area with 100 - 200 people and throw yourself into the mostly high waves that come in one after the other. If someone goes out too far - which means without their feet touching the ground - they are whistled back by the lifeguards. Even with our children (8 and 10), swimming was never dangerous. At low tide, the shallow sandy beach with small "warm water pools" is a huge playground for digging, playing and skimboarding. You can eat quite well in the restaurants - the prices are rather high, the food is average to good. You can't go wrong with the pizzas. In the evenings at the campsite there is a "show stage" near the reception, where there is a party every evening until 11pm. For our taste, it was rather rare - the French are quickly in a party mood with little and relatively mediocre entertainment, and party there every evening for all they're worth. The adjacent pitches are not recommended for those in need of peace and quiet. Excursions to the surrounding area involve a car journey of at least half an hour to an hour. Bordeuax is very worthwhile, the small villages of the Haut-Medoc are also worth a trip. But don't think that you can get good and inexpensive wine there - wrong. Good wines are at least as expensive there as in Germany. Filling canisters at the wine grower's - as we knew it from the south of France - is only possible to a limited extent there. All in all, we spent 3 weeks on the beach, the weather was very pleasant (20-25°C in August), the wind was moderate, but at night it was "sweater weather" from 10 pm onwards. All in all - if you want to camp on the west coast - the campsite is highly recommended, the only disadvantage is that you have to pay a lot of money for it.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Armin G.August 2013PozytywneBeautiful shady, partly large pitches. Very relaxing. Beautiful guarded beach. Nice staff.NegatywnePoor quality of the on-site restaurant. Cleanliness of sanitary facilities worse in 2013, prices now too high. Attention partly very sandy.Large beautiful CP under pine trees with nice sanitary facilities near the beachWe stayed at Hourtin Plage in 2010-2011-2012 with a large tent and in 2013 with a caravan. A lovely large pitch under shady trees. We always chose a pitch at the back around sanitary block 5, no through traffic. Unfortunately, every year we had noisy neighbors who showed no consideration for the sleeping... environment at night (across all nationalities). Sanitary block 5 was always very well cleaned, there is usually a cleaner on duty from 7am to 10pm; no separation between men and women. Due to staff changes last year, it was unfortunately no longer as clean as usual. Place is always very full in August. Restaurant and take-away on site not recommended. Restaurants on the beach mile recommended. The supermarket has everything you need, the croissants and baguettes from the small bakery on the right at the entrance to the village are great! The staff, especially at reception, are always extremely friendly (multilingual). Swimming pool and playground great, our daughter was always out and about, lifeguards also on the supervised beach. Unfortunately, more and more pitches are being sacrificed to build rental accommodation. Most recently, the price-performance ratio was no longer right, which is why we didn't stay there again after 2013.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Gunter W.May 2013PozytywneShort distance to the Atlantic. Alternative to the inland lake. Pitch large enough for WW + awning. Great bike tours possible.NegatywneWIFI often disrupted. In high season often loud events but that is probably age-related. Young people are enthusiastic.I have been spending my vacation here for 25 years with a caravan, two people and a dog. Very friendly staff, clean sanitary facilities, a wide range of activities, good home-style restaurant. A great swimming pool for children too. This place gets better from year to year but also more expensive.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Frank W.September 2011Nice, shady CP; our mobile home was clean with a nice pitch. Seat covers are advisable for the wooden benches in front of the mobile home. The beach is about 300m away. The restaurant is a bit cold and sterile. The staff were friendly. We liked it here.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.

- Sabrina A.June 2011We stayed at this campsite for one night in June 2011 and paid 21 euros (in low season) for a pitch for 2 people and a car. The sanitary facilities were super clean and very well maintained. There was even a permanently installed hairdryer. We didn't try the restaurants on site. The walk to the beach is about 5-10 minutes. The swimming pool is very nice, but swimming is only permitted with swimming trunks (not swimming shorts).Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- P.September 2010In the low season, when all the French are away, despite its size, quite a quiet place. We rented a cottage (Super-Allize), which is very clean with enough space for 5-6 people. Price-performance in NS absolutely o.k. Very nice staff, prompt handling of requests or complaints. Great, always guarded beach... (very calming with children, because the surf and currents are really tough!), about 10 minutes on foot. To go shopping you have to drive at least to Hourtin (8 km), but there is also an (expensive) supermarket on the campsite. The whole family was very happy with this vacation!Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
