Service: 🙋 The staff are friendly, check-in was quick and uncomplicated. We stayed at this highly recommended campsite in April 2017. You can't get a pitch on the top "floor" without a reservation. When we arrived, we were told that all the pitches on the top floor were reserved for two groups. Strangely enough, a German WW... driver still managed to get a place. I therefore interpret the allocation of pitches as arbitrary. However, we found a very nice spot on a lower floor, right next to the swimming pool. The staff are very friendly and service-oriented. Pitches are not parceled out. We were able to position ourselves as we wanted at the beginning of October. There was plenty of space. The sanitary facilities are no longer the newest, but mostly clean. You could shower for as long as you wanted,... there was always warm to hot water. The water was also really hot when washing up. The negative comments from others about the wild cats were just the opposite. We really enjoyed the very different cats. There were no cat cries while we were there. The railroad line, which runs through the middle of the campsite - albeit far below - can hardly be heard. Absolutely no disturbance from it. There are steps and a path down to the stony/rocky beach. The bay is very beautiful, but rocky. We didn't use the beautiful seawater pool. The small town of Avola is ideal for relaxing and is not touristy. Wonderfully quiet and tranquil. You can get everything you need in the local supermarkets. The location of the campsite is ideal for a visit to the beautiful town of Cefalu. Palermo is about 80 km away. From there we took the ferry to Genoa. We recommend a trip to the small town of Pollina, 900 m above sea level. You will be rewarded with a fantastic view. The operators are very friendly and helpful. Train runs through the middle of the campsite, but 15m below and therefore almost inaudible. Swing doors are only on the outside at the entrance, the shower cubicles have normal... doors. Very clean and friendly. Restaurant is great, lots of good fish dishes and about 50 different pizzas. Store is available, bread must be ordered the day before. There is no meat or anything to grill in the store. But the place is close by and you can get everything there. Operator takes you to Polina train station for €1 per person, from where you can easily get to Cefalu or Palermo by train. Bus stop in front of the CP. Very nice host family who came from home to let us onto the pitch after reception closed. Even a necessary visit to the doctor was personally accompanied. Sanitary building only equipped with swing doors. Washing up facilities under the canopy - only something... for warmer days. Unfortunately there were no toilet seats in the men's toilets, toilet paper had to be brought along. In the mornings the showers were lukewarm at best. No washing and changing facilities for babies. A railroad line runs through the middle of the campsite. Trains run regularly. However, the noise is limited. You have a beautiful view of the sea from most of the pitches. The catering facilities are fine. There is a restaurant and a store with the essentials. Further shopping and catering facilities and everything else (bank, post office, pharmacy, etc.) can be... found in the nearby village of Finale (approx. 10 - 15 minutes on foot). The saltwater swimming pool is beautifully situated and clean. There are a few sun loungers, parasols and a lifeguard who ensures order and cleanliness. Swimming caps are obligatory. The path to the sea is steep and the beach is stony. The sea is less suitable for young children. You can snorkel. Otherwise, the campsite offers few leisure activities. - Anya L.lipiec 2013Wonderful location, tents have a view of the ocean. Great snorkeling!! But no sand beach. You have to drive there (5 minutes) and you might have to pay for parking. Facilities are probably as clean as they get in Italy - so definitely room for improvement, though this is not the campground's fault. The... pool is nice, though there is no kiddy pool. Playground is falling apart. Still, our kids loved it, we liked it too. From Monday to Friday it was quiet and relaxing (until the weekend came and two very noisy Italian families set up their tents next to ours). Cefalu is absolutely beautiful and has a great beach, too. There are also a few other nice places to visit. And the train ride to Palermo takes about an hour (great day trip).

The new sanitary building is very nice; for wheelchair users, however, a separate bathroom with toilet and shower is located off the beaten track (a little down the hill),... but large enough.
