- Karin W.June 2019PozytywneProximity to the beach, cleanliness, location.Great place! We stayed at this campsite for 10 days at Pentecost 2019. We were shown various pitches for our tent on arrival. The pitches have firm earth/chippings as a base, so a hammer to hammer in the pegs is important. We had a lovely pitch with a sea view very close to the beach. The small bay is beautiful,... but it quickly becomes cramped when the pitch gets a bit full. With the start of the vacations in Italy, it became..... . The only guests I saw were Italians and Germans, with the odd Swiss. The bay is also suitable for small children as it is sandy and quite shallow. Many guests had their dogs with them, all of whom behaved well and didn't bark. The only disturbance was the barking of dogs on the first night, but this came from a neighboring property. The entertainment started on June 15 in the evening at around 9pm and went on until around 11pm. The children's disco was the best thing for my two kids, the 3 entertainers did a really nice job. You can actually hear the louder activities of the entertainment even at the furthest point of the campsite, our tent was quite far away from the stage, so I didn't find it disturbing. The small supermarket on the pitch has a large selection of food, camping equipment and toys. The staff were always approachable and helpful. German was also understood quite well. So a great place with children, if you are looking for peace and quiet, you may not be right....Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Claudia S.July 2017PozytywneFamily campsite with evening entertainment for children... really ItalianNegatywneOvercrowded campsite sandy baynice family campsite, unfortunately totally overcrowded own sandy bayWe were there again after 15 years..... My children really liked it back then.... The small sandy bay is totally overcrowded! But now, as a couple, we've done some beach tourism on Elba and discovered lots of other beaches. Nearby is the first nudist bay. This is new, you have to drive there by car and then walk down a short steep path. There is a small drinks bar at the top.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Silvia H.June 2016PozytywneLocation with sea view (possible for some motorhomes and many tents)Negatywneoutdated and not very clean sanitary facilitiesFantastic locationA warm welcome. We were proudly shown the most beautiful free pitch. This one had a clear view of the sea. Rather cramped, but a beautiful view. Lots of Italian families at the end of June, but still quiet. Beach very clean, but narrow, you had to move closer together at high tide. Quickly reached via steep steps. The nearest towns are two or five kilometers away. Sanitary facilities very outdated and not particularly clean.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- christa C.April 2016PozytywneGood location between Capoliveri+PortoAzzurro. Own "private beach". Quiet locationNegatywneShaking seems more important than renewing sanitary facilities! Electricity 3A without surcharge. At the beginning of the season no store, no restaurant - construction sites.Site has three stars: Location *****, Sanitary **The site was in operation, but we had building sites everywhere at the start of the season. Camping infrastructure not available or poor. Location is excellent, our pitch was above the beach. Despite the ancient sanitary facilities, we would probably come again. Not very accessible for the disabled (many steps and slopes).Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Nicole B.August 2014PozytywneGreat sandy bay, awesome water, great ambienceNegatywneSanitary facilities urgently need to be renovated, hot water is rare if you take a shower at peak time.Great place, gigantic water, great flairThe site is right next to a small bay, which is really busy in high season. We had a pitch right at the front of the beach, but on a hill. The whole site is laid out in terraces. Campers have the best pitches right at the front. There are only a few campers right at the front. For young people it is... a rather boring vacation, as there are mainly ital. Families stay there. They only speak Italian, almost no one speaks English, and no one speaks German anyway. But with hands and feet it went well. The nearest town, Capoliverie, is a dream. Porto Azzuro and Porto Ferraio are also worth a visit. In general, this campsite is a great starting point for excursions and is very central. Dogs are allowed on the beach. Renting sun loungers is really expensive. Buoy hire for a dinghy also expensive. Supermarket also expensive, it's better to shop outside. There are stalls selling great fruit right on the main road and a Coop and a fishmonger are also nearby. You can even get there by bike. The pizzeria on the square is amazing. Best Cappriziosa ever (my husband is addicted to it). Awesome fish dishes (carchuca or something like that) are a dream, but must be ordered in advance. Like paella only better. It was our best vacation in Italy so far. Expensive but awesome!!!Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Veronika K.July 2013This was the second time we (father, mother, two children, 9 and 12 years old, a medium-sized dog) have been to this beautiful campsite with our caravan (09.07. - 25.07.2013) and we will definitely be back again next year. The vacation was once again far too short! Location description: The campsite... is beautifully situated and has its own great beach, ideal for the children. The little ones can build wonderful castles in the beautiful sand and the older ones can let off steam in the clear, clean water. If you go swimming early in the morning, you can even watch the water birds catching fish. If you like snorkeling, there is also plenty to discover here. We found the following sea creatures (among others) in the adjacent rocks: lots of bream, a huge school of small fish that was always on the move, an octopus, a starfish, a sea peacock and a sea cucumber. The sandy beach is supervised by a friendly lifeguard until 7pm. He is also responsible for taking the boat owners to their boats, which are located slightly outside the bathing area. The beach and the campsite itself are very clean and well maintained. Every morning, gardeners check that everything is in order. The site is supplied by a dense irrigation system. The camping pitches are beautifully laid out and shaded by trees. Although we were in the middle of it all last year and this year, thanks to the rhododendron hedges we had our own private realm that could not be seen from outside. Services: The market is open from 8am to 9pm and provides visitors with plenty of postcards, beach paraphernalia, fresh bread rolls and other stomach-filling items. The prices are reasonable, but of course much cheaper outside the campsite. The restaurant prepares delicious meals (especially very good fish dishes!) and is also very popular. You should make a reservation in the evening if you want to make sure you don't have to wait. But even when it's full, the service is quick and friendly. Animation: Some like it, some hate it. You can probably never please everyone. Every evening there was entertainment in front of the stage until 23:30 at the latest, after which the campsite became really quiet. The "Art is Heart" entertainment group is very committed and has lots of good ideas. However, we only watched the hustle and bustle from afar, we usually make our own program. But even though I didn't take part, I have to say that it didn't bother me. Rather, the good mood spilled over to our plot. And it was predictable in terms of time. Sanitary facilities: The facilities are amply equipped and I don't think they are dirty or even disgusting (as I have read from others here). I have experienced very different places. There are the typical standing toilets of southern countries, but there are also sitting toilets whose glasses are treated with hygiene sprays after each use. Here, everyone can decide for themselves what they prefer. I rather welcome the fact that there is no strict separation between male and female. That way, our family can also brush their teeth together... The showers work well, but the water can run out if they are all used at once. There is perhaps still room for improvement. The shower tokens were abolished this year, now you can take a hot shower for free. I was pleasantly surprised by this. The dishwashing and washing areas are clean and well maintained. And even when it was busy, I never found a dirty sink. Waste disposal is easy, organic waste is even collected. Life on the campsite: Because holidaymakers' cars have to stay in the adjacent parking lot, it is pleasantly quiet on the streets of the campsite. Children can run around without any worries. The path to the beach is steep and has steps in places. But you can get to the water quickly. In addition to the sandy beach, there are also rocky sections where you can camp. At night, the campsite is quiet by 23:30 at the latest. Often even earlier, but there are also events that can still be heard that late. At bedtime, a friendly steward wandering around ensures that it stays quiet. Dogs: Dogs are welcome, but must - understandably - be kept on a lead. They are not allowed on the beach. However, there is a 2 km hiking trail through the fields of Elba to a dog beach (called Mola) that you can walk to. Although there are a lot of campers with dogs (albeit the smaller ones), this does not lead to any conflicts. All the dogs were very relaxed and peaceful with their masters. There is even a special shower for dogs in the sanitary facilities. Service: The reception is very friendly and nice. German is also spoken. On arrival, you are driven around in an electric vehicle and shown the possible pitches for your caravan. To our regret, you can't reserve a pitch in advance, but have to go with what's on offer. This time we were lucky again: the pitch allocated to us was nice. However, a reservation option would be ideal for us. Are the children ill or has your boat been damaged? No problem, the campsite takes great care of its residents. Appointments with a doctor or a boat repairer are made quickly by phone. Both came to the campsite and we didn't have to frantically look for addresses anywhere. Everyone is very nice and helpful. Prices: If you book in spring - as we did - and stay for at least 2 weeks in season C (which is around June/July), the campsite contributes to the ferry price (one way, car and passengers, but not caravans). The campsite is certainly not cheap, but it is very nice. Last year we stayed in the high season, which was no fun in terms of price. That's why we planned our vacation well this time. The management also took care of the crossing and we had no stress at all organizing the ferry tickets. Conclusion: The vacation at the "Le Calanchiole" campsite was once again a dream, and I am happy to pay for it. And we will definitely be back next year! (The one star less in the overall impression was mainly due to the lack of reservation options for favorite pitches).Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- sl i.August 2012I stayed at this campsite in August 2012 (2 p., 1 CB). Every evening there is an entertainment program (only in Italian) that echoed very loudly over the entire campsite. It was completely impossible to find a quiet pitch. We had a great view of the sea and that was the reason why we continued to stay... at this campsite. The sanitary facilities (especially the toilets) were cleaned twice a day, but in my opinion this is not enough on such a large and busy campsite. In addition, there was no separation of the sanitary facilities for men and women. When paying the bill (after 6 nights) I felt ripped off when I read that there was an additional €10 for the entertainment (which I really hated) and €20 for reservations. As the items were only shown in Italian and I didn't understand them, I asked politely and received a very curt and incomprehensible answer. When I asked again, the staff became unfriendly. My conclusion: I think that the campsite is well suited to families who value entertainment for their children (small children don't usually care what language the entertainment is in, the main thing is that they are kept busy and have something to watch) and less value sufficiently clean sanitary facilities. The campsite is absolutely nothing for couples who like it a bit quieter. Ps: the beach is very narrow and small, and in high season it can happen that you can't find a spot.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Chiara B.July 2012We stayed at this camp 6 nights with camper. The pitches are quite large and in the shade of pine trees sin for the very dusty terrain.Every time some vehicle passes, a lot of dust rises.Toilets that stank already from the morning even in the showers.Showers that moreover are coin operated and often work... badly with little hot water or even nothing!Hours of silence little respected also by the managers who according to them are working and disassemble caravans even during these hours resulting in noise. We recommend NOT DRINKING the water both here and in other parts of the island.Notes of merit the excellent cuisine of the restaurant, the animation and the beach, albeit small but with beautiful sea.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- df F.September 2010Nice place, but unfortunately Campingqueque guests are not allowed to the front to the sea. Therefore unfortunately no more.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
