"Mr - I gave it 1 star because without it I couldn't go any further, because what it really deserves is zero. Because it does deserve to be closed down, the price-quality ratio is disproportionate. I call on the supervisory authorities, ASAE and Oliveira do Hospital City Council, to inspect the site. The park in question does not comply in the slightest with the requirements set out in decree 1320 of 2008, namely: -there is little access to the public highway article 7 --there is a lack of fencing on the site, art. 8 --circulation routes without regulatory measures article 10 --lack of electrical voltage information near the power socket, and emergency lighting in the appropriate places, art. 12 --lack of indication and locations of drinking water distribution and waterproofing and waste water drainage. art. 13 --lack of internal regulations, art. 25 --service station unsuitable for motorhomes article 27 --Superficial areas for motorhomes and caravans of very small dimensions and with very poor access. On top of all this, there is a lack of security, emergency exits, extinguishers and fire hydrants. Given this picture, I conclude that what many people call a campsite and classify as very good has one of two things: It doesn't know any better, or it's doing itself favors. SHOULD BE CLOSED

"We loved it - We stayed in a beautiful caravan next to a cherry tree full of fruit! We were very well received and loved the value that the owners had given to the place. Very well-kept corners of nature, a small but pleasant pool, a familiar and discreet atmosphere, lots of cleanliness and a beautiful guest house! Another plus of this campsite is that it's close to numerous river beaches that are well worth a visit and the immense heat of inland Portugal. We'll definitely be back!

"Great hospitality! - The owners are well known for their excellent hospitality. The park is very quiet as it is located in a wooded area, and is surrounded by picturesque villages.

Toca da Raposa (Fox den) is a small and cozy campsite in Central Portugal, situated near the foothills of the “Serra da Estrela” (Star Mountain), the highest mountain range of mainland Portugal, a beautiful region in a beautiful country. It’s …a campers paradise in the middle of nature, the ideal spot to explore this area. There is plenty to do or to visit depending on anyone’s taste and interest. First there’s the “Serra da Estrela”, almost 2000m high, with its huge granite stones and unforgetable views, the perfect scenery for a trip with your car or on your motorbike or for the hikers, to make a beautiful walk. For visitors who like to be active there is plenty to do: hiking, horse riding, rock climbing, cycling, canoeing, paddle bord and carting. There are also a few rivers that offer pittoresque river beaches to relax during warm summer days. In the region there are very nice, small and old vilages to visit: Meruge (the centre is build on a huge rock), Linhares (old castle), Bobadela (roman arena), Piódão (the whole vilage is build in shist), … There’s also a few bigger city’s that are worth while to pay a visita t about na hour driving distance: Coimbra (one of the oldest universitys of Europe) and Viseu (with its beautifull catedral and nice shopping area in the centre). Toca da Raposa was originally a typical Portuguese farmhouse, which we bought as a ruin in 1998 and rebuilt with respect for the old, but with the necessary modern adaptions and modern details. Because the main buildings are built in the large granite stones from the region, it has a rustic, atmospheric appearance. We have made it into na attractive whole with many colourful details in the decoration, the cozy and spacious bar/restaurante, beautiful landscaped gardens, a small but nice salt-water swimming pool and shady terraces. Every guest chooses how he prefers to organize his stay. Everything is available in the rental houses to be fully self catering: all kitchen utensils for cooking and eating, a small cooker, a fridge, table and chairs. But for those who wish we offer breakfast (small or buffet), a wide range of snacks ando n a regular basis a freshly prepared, tasty meal.
