Leisure activities for all interests, cycling, water sports of all kinds, walking, mini golf, etc. The cycle tours are well signposted and the cycle paths are well developed. The pitches are really big. The sanitary facilities are a bit older but always clean. The size of the showers and washing facilities are unique! The only thing missing would be a small store, as it is some distance from Gunzenhausen. There are also campers without bicycles. The site lighting is good. The staff are very friendly. A walk to the Altmühlsee is worthwhile. We were glad that we had reserved this site as the last campsite on our return journey home. The site is very nicely laid out, not the usual plots but in roundels, which gives the site a special charm. The tent pitch is unfortunately quite small and located directly behind the sanitary building, so you can hear the exhaust air from the showers. Sanitary... in order and clean. The great thing about this campsite is that almost all the pitches are in roundels. This means that the pitches are laid out in a circle, giving you plenty of space and privacy.... The staff are very friendly, the pitches are large enough due to the pie-shaped layout, so that we were able to set up our 8.5m mobile home and awning without any problems. After a few steps outside the campsite, our two collies found enough space... to romp around. The site is a real El Dorado for cyclists. The cycle and hiking path around the lake is paved. We completed the 13 km route several times and always discovered something new. The proximity to the center of Gunzenhausen is also ideal. The cycle path takes you directly to the market square in the town center after just 3.5 km. Shopping facilities such as Kaufland and Lidl are practically on the way. If you want to go on a longer cycle tour, the route to Brombachsee is a good option. This tour leads through the middle of the forest and can be easily completed on a normal bike. Although the sanitary facilities are no longer brand new, they are always clean. The catering, which is run by the campsite operators, is delicious and reasonably priced. We had a schnitzel with chips and salad for EUR 8.90. ACSI is accepted. In addition to the pitch fee (EUR 17), there is also a tourist tax of EUR 1.50 and a flat-rate waste disposal fee of EUR 1.50, which is perfectly acceptable. For families with children, the nearby adventure playground by the shallow river offers plenty to keep them occupied. WLAN is free on site (could be a bit faster). Unfortunately, the outdoor sinks are not covered,... so the three indoor sinks are not enough when it rains and the site is full. The site is well suited for cycling and hiking tours. The individual pitches are large and well-kept, but without water and waste water. No trees, so no shade in summer. Price - performance is great. Sanitary building central, a bit older but very clean. Baker and butcher on site in the morning. Approx.... 150 meters to the Altmühlsee (beach, sailing, surfing, large children's playground).
