- Frank S.July 2024PozytywneNothing really, if you want to hike you are in the right placeNegatywneLocation, relatively small for a motorhome, toilets far above, parking spaces below, no cell phone reception, for 20Euro the night with motorhome parking space would be ok, but not 43Euro, electricity per day 3.50 Euro!!! Once and never again!!!Completely overpriced campsiteSee above, for the price very bad, everything looks like from the 80s, absolutely not recommended!!!Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Christian P.June 2024PozytywneBeautiful location .NegatywneWe arrived at 12.30, no one was there at reception. Around 11.00 we had called an employee of the place, there was no information that no one is available from 12 o'clock. If the owner of the restaurant hadn't been so nice, we would have waited until 5 pm (not 3 pm), by chance the boss came and we were able to register and get the important guest card. It certainly wasn't all planned that way. If you're unlucky like us, the service is exceptionally poor. WLAN only DIRECTLY next to the reception. You can forget that on your pitch. Sanitary facilities at the part of the hydroelectric power station clean but like 35 years ago. Two toilets, one washbasin in front with no possibility to dry your hands. If you want to camp here without comfort, you've come to the right place.Christian............... .. ................... ..................................Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Sven "Knausrich" B.June 2024PozytywneThe peace and quiet, the area, the place itself. And especially the firefliesNegatywneHardly any network with D2 network paired with weak wifi. For the first time I lacked wifiQuiet campsite just outside Bad Schandau with direct access to public transport and the Kirnitzschtalbahn. We were able to choose our pitch from 3 still available without a reservation. So we moved in, set up and set off for Bad Schandau on the Kirnitzschtalbahn. The "official" registration then took... place on our return. Plus point for the pitch, even without high-tech. And while we're on the subject of digitalization, there is hardly any network coverage here (can only speak for D2) but WiFi, but only in sufficient strength at the reception and at the (not in the) sanitary building. The site operator could invest some of the not insignificant costs (1 motorhome, 2 people, incl. electricity) of 37 euros per night in the digitalization of his site. I'm not usually so fussy about wifi because I can rely on my network, but we had an electric network and no wifi. But it's no longer possible without it. The highlight of the campsite was the fireflies in the evening. I haven't seen them since I was a child. Thanks for that. Bread rolls can be bought in the morning without ordering. And remember, camper van drivers greet each other.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Lars H.May 2024Pozytywnethe situation and that was it for usNegatywnenot handicapped accessible contrary to the information, "sanitary area" in the lower part is none only a run-down toilet and sink, no networks with a lot of luck you can make a phone call, Wlan from the operator with us without Internet..... Reservation fee exorbitantly exaggeratedConditions do not correspond to the specificationsthe operator's statement on the phone before the reservation did not correspond to the situation! our pitch was unacceptable due to the water turbine which, according to him, you should hardly hear and which does not disturb, it was a lie! to offer such a pitch at all is a cheek. after a sleepless night... we left again. The only usable sanitary building is at the highest point, most of the pitches are at the lowest. The difference in altitude is approx. 25m and access for the disabled is via a very steep path with a gradient of approx. 20-25%. My wife was able to get up with our electric wheelchair, but she had to get down again! The next obstacle before the access to the supposedly disabled-friendly sanitary area was a kerb, which is no problem for healthy campers, but insurmountable with a wheelchair. But there was another obstacle: the automatic door was broken, which meant that it was impossible to reach the disabled sanitary area with a wheelchair or rollator! Once you had overcome these hurdles, however, there was a garden chair behind the door, which may have been well-intentioned but posed a further danger for my wife, who is paralyzed on one side. The return trip to our pitch down the path turned out to be life-threatening for my wife. The wheels slipped on the slope and so it was impossible to steer the wheelchair. Only by holding the whole vehicle together with a woman from behind did we get to the pitch and came to the realization; -not another day here! We also realized how the place is financed, through the horrendous reservation fee, of which you get nothing back even after massive provable complaints. ok it's our own fault why do we go there.... Conclusion: ok for hikers in the area. if you can cope with the conditions and only want to go there with a small caravan or camper van ok.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.

There is no refund of the deposit in case of force majeure! Example: Due to the fire disaster in Saxon Switzerland in the summer of 2022 in the immediate vicinity of the campsite, a vacation was not possible. Authorities had urgently asked all vacationers to... leave the area. The smoke was said to be unbearable! Entering the woods and hiking trails was forbidden under penalty of law! Nevertheless, the site owner refused to refund the deposit! In addition, we were told by telephone that no reservation would be made for a specific pitch. Why make a reservation then?Przetłumaczone automatycznie. - Mandy H.June 2021PozytywneThe remote location with countless hiking opportunities. Kirnitzschtalbahn train or bus stop right in front of the campsite. Delicious food in the restaurant right next to the campsite with hot meals throughout the day. Small kiosk with fresh bread rolls in the morning. Very limited wireless network reception - actually an advantage for me.NegatywneOffice only staffed by the hour, from 8 to 10 am and from 5 to 6:30 pm. During these times, you can expect considerable waiting times. There is a bell with an intercom where you are put through to an employee. I have never experienced such an unfriendly person! She should be denied access to the intercom, as she is destroying the otherwise positive impression.Beautiful place in the middle of the hiking areaDespite its location in the Kirnitzschtal valley, the site is sunny with lots of greenery. The site is well-kept and tidy. One or two terraces are still being rebuilt. But that is not a problem. The sanitary facilities are modern, spacious, sufficient and clean. The shower cubicles in particular are... comparatively spacious. Showering with a child was no problem at all. The staff - with the exception of the person at the intercom - are very friendly and always had a friendly word for my 4-year-old. This also applies to the staff in the restaurant and the staff in the kiosk. I was traveling with a car (we slept in the car) and a small tent (to store all the utensils) and found my pitch (39) to be very spacious. It was quiet and relaxed. The other guests were very pleasant and we quickly made nice contact. An absolute stroke of luck for my camping debut.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Michael T.June 2021PozytywneThe location close to the core massif of Saxon Switzerland is ideal.NegatywneDespite a certificate, they insisted on wearing a mask at reception. This violates the anti-discrimination law. As a person with a health problem, I was denied the necessary relaxation in nature. After I complained, I received no apology from the campsite operator, but rather teacher-like, flimsy justifications. Unfortunately, this campsite is now a "no go area" for me and will remain so after Corona. I don't like being labeled as a 2nd class person because of my restrictions.Since Corona "No go area"!Despite the certificate, they insisted on wearing a mask at reception. This is illegal because all anti-corona regulations provide for exceptions to the obligation to wear a mask. It is also a violation of the Anti-Discrimination Act. As a person with a health condition, I am being denied the necessary... recreation in nature. After I complained, I received no apology from the campsite operator, but instead received teacher-like, flimsy justifications.
I was even ridiculed by the campsite operator Christoph Hasse. Quote: "Maybe it's better for you to stay at home to protect yourself. It's safest within your own walls without a mask." (Spelling mistake taken from quote).
Even worse: Mr. Hasse said in his letter of justification that he could not verify the certificates. So he accuses me of fraud from the outset.
No, this campsite is not ruled by the spirit of a free life in nature, but by the subject spirit of Diederich Hessling from Heinrich Mann's "The Subject".
Unfortunately, this campsite is now a "no go area" for me and will remain so after Corona. I don't like being labeled as a second-class person because of my limitations.Przetłumaczone automatycznie. - Matthias R.August 2020PozytywneCentral location, good bus and streetcar connectionsNegatywneNo W-LAN and no telephone network at the campsite, so any planning on site is very difficult. No information material on site. Office only staffed by the hour. Kiosk only staffed for 2 hours in the morning. Sanitary facilities and cleanliness not convincing. Overcrowded due to the vacation season. Unfortunately, friendliness is also limited.Central location, otherwise unfortunately not so convincingFirst port of call with motorhome in the national park. OK for 3 nights. Ideal starting point for hikes and excursions. The flair of the place was not convincing. Not much on offer for children either. Playing on the river was dangerous, not possible without supervision of the little ones.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Bernd S.July 2020Pozytywnethe location and the atmosphere on this site the many opportunities for hiking on foot or by bike the very pedestrian and cyclist-friendly surroundings the central location in Saxon Switzerland and the proximity to the Elbe valleyNegatywneIf there is a disadvantage to mention at all, it is that radio network reception and WLAN at our pitch were a total failure.Campsite with its own flairThe campsite exudes a very special atmosphere. The remote location directly on the river, in the deeply incised Kyrnitzsch Valley, the venerable Kyrnitzsch Valley Railway, the radio signal-free surroundings in many areas and the partially preserved charm of bygone times probably contribute significantly... to this. The site has modern facilities and is in very good condition. But when the train rattles along the river loop right next to the campsite and you can watch bathers building a dam in the Kyrnitszsch, you could suddenly be transported back in time. Add to that the impressions of the many hikes, bike tours and excursions and delicious, fresh bread rolls straight from the kiosk, and you really are on vacation.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Christoph H.July 2019PozytywneThe hiking trails start right at the square.NegatywneSmall pitches. In the middle of the hiking areaVery good location for hiking in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. The operator knows this and does very little new. The kiosk and reception, including the people inside, are reminiscent of the first vacations after reunification. The sanitary building is large, modern and adequate. Hard-working people have... always kept it clean. Thanks for that, given the large number of visitors. There are a lot of visitors with tents here, which also formed the majority in relation to caravans and campers. This brought a very pleasant atmosphere to the site.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Stephanie W.October 2018Pozytywnegood starting point for hikesNegatywnesmall squaresMega quiet and relaxing landscapeWe love the campsite in Sächs. Switzerland and have been there several times. With and without children or dogs. A great starting point for many hikes directly from the site or simply get on the Kirnitzschtalbahn and head for another starting point. - Tobias P.July 2018Pozytywne-Very good, quiet location -Very well organized -Friendly and helpful operators -Clean -Ideal as a base camp Saxon SwitzerlandAgain and againAll bad reviews can be safely forgotten. This campsite in the beautiful Kirnitzschtal valley offers a first-class starting point for a successful stay in Saxon Switzerland. Whether hiking on dreamy paths or adventurous scrambling tours, excursions to famous sights such as the Bastei or a stop at one... of the many cozy restaurants with local cuisine. Ideal for hikers passing through or staying longer. The good organization and the friendliness of the operators are particularly noteworthy. There is also a restaurant with a beer garden and good food (regional products) at fair prices right on the site. We are pleased to have made such a lucky choice and would make the same choice at any time. Greetings from Berlin.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Thomas L.April 2018NegatywneFrom our point of view, there are noSuper place always happy to returnHave been to this place three times. Each time for the Elbsandsteindogtrekking also called ESDT. - Michael P.August 2017PozytywneLocationNegatywnenonebeautiful place in a favorable locationGood and inexpensive place in a convenient location for hiking excursions. The Bastei and the Felsenburg can also be reached quickly by car. Dresden is also not too far away for a day trip. All in all, the campsite is recommended.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Familie L.August 2017Could be betterThe reception: rude to bored, the site: dark, loveless with long paths to the sanitary facilities, ADAC environmental award - for what? Waste separation catastrophic, mobile and WLAN zero. The farewell - like the reception. Rays of hope: Good, new sanitary building. Good food and nice service in the Flößerstuben restaurant.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Christoph K.August 2017PozytywneYou can start your hikes right at the campsite and don't necessarily have to drive anywhere.Negatywneseems a bit disorganized at first glance.A bit of a "fie" on the outside, but a mighty "hui" on the insideWhen we arrived, we wrinkled our noses a little at first. Reception wasn't manned and we were told to find a seat ourselves. The site seemed somehow unstructured. But we found a nice pitch on the upper terraces. Registration at reception was very friendly. Thanks again for the great hiking route, it... was really great. But the real "wow" came when we saw the buildings from the inside (they looked a bit neglected from the outside). Inside, the sanitary facilities were bright, spacious and clean. The restaurant (a great breakfast buffet for €7) was modern, inviting and cozy. You can buy everything you need at the kiosk. For more you have to drive to Bad Schandau. Hiking trails start directly at the campsite, so this campsite is highly recommended for hikers.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Don S.August 2017PozytywneHiking trails Campsite in generalNegatywneSmall reception, when things get busy there can be waiting times. Not a first choice but definitely not a regret!Unfortunately, reception is not always staffed, so it's best to inform them before you arrive. When we arrived, we had to kill some time. The staff are friendly and try to help you with any problems. There is little network on the site and the available WiFi didn't work 99% of the time. There are many... different pitches so that everyone can find something suitable for themselves. Sanitary facilities are cleaned often and were never too full. The Bimmelbahn is a good way to get around the valley. You can only really go shopping in Bad Schandau. There are lots of great hiking trails from the campsite.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.

Just like most other campsites. Ascension Day and Whitsun are the days when ancamping is common in our area. In other words, the start of camping in the new summer. When the weather is nice, everyone wants to go to beautiful... Saxon Switzerland to enjoy nature. If you mean hedges that have not yet been cut and grass that has not yet been mown. That's because we have to wait until the birds' nests in the hedges are empty and various small animals are no longer in the grass. We are here in the middle of nature and in the National Park and have to abide by the rules of nature. We are always open to your suggestions and ideas christoph@ostrauer-muehle.de
