....Przetłumaczone automatycznie. - Siegbert B.June 2023PozytywneNice staff at the receptionNegatywneDirty sanitary facilitiesPlenty of room for improvementWe were just passing through and therefore only spent one night on the site. For this reason, we didn't use anything except the sanitary facilities. These were quite something. I'm not talking about the age, the sight of which took me back to my childhood. I'm simply talking about the cleanliness. I... will say in advance that I used the toilet and the washbasin in the camper van, because the sight of them made me sick. This condition was identical in the evening and also the next morning around 10am. I would say that this pitch for €36.81 for 1 motorhome, 2 people, electricity flat rate is really overpriced. On departure, we spoke to the really nice lady at reception about the shortcomings. Comment: It is cleaned regularly. What else can you say?Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Rolf B.April 2023PozytywneLake on site Playground Ice cream van that comes to the squareNegatywnenoneEaster 2023This was our second time there.
Great place even with children. The ice cream van that comes from the next village was a big highlight on the site. The surrounding area is great for short bike rides, the restaurant on site is great.Przetłumaczone automatycznie. - Peter L.April 2023PozytywneThe landscape, but that's not the CP's faultNegatywneSeclusion of the dog area without connection to the site infrastructure Camp-like fencing Non-compliance with contracts by the restaurant Narrow plots Extreme road noiseBorderlineWe had booked a pitch with a dog, so we came to the south pitch. We were aware of this. This requires long detours, for example to get bread rolls with a dog, about 500m, partly along the country road.
This is clearly audible on the tourist pitches of the dog area, especially motorcycles and large farm... equipment, distance approx. 150 m as the crow flies
Tourist pitches are very narrow, arrivals and departures resemble Tetris at a higher level.
Sani very outdated, but clean.
The dog shower right next to the faeces sink is a no-go, and the fact that you have to bend 1.1 m over the sink to flush is simply disgusting.
Everything is fenced in like a warehouse, everything can only be opened with various cards and keys, to operate the 2 meter high electric gate you have to leave the car when entering and exiting.
There are signs everywhere telling you what is forbidden. The vests worn by the site staff don't say "Service" or anything nice, but are labeled with the word "PLATZORDNER". Absolutely wrong.
The worst thing was the treatment by the restaurant: We had pre-booked for 8 people for a very long time for April 30th. This was confirmed to us by email. On 29.04. in the morning we made sure again whether it would work, as the May dance was also announced there. This was explicitly confirmed. In the afternoon around half past three I received a call to say that it wouldn't work after all. Great, no alternative was offered, we were forced to find an alternative in the area ourselves. Fortunately, we found something just under 6 km away, as the area is not so densely populated.
As we were leaving, when we had to drive half a kilometer around the outside of the facility to drop off the various means of transport, we were asked if we liked it. We said no and referred to our behavior with the restaurant reservation. We received nothing credible in reply, just laconic blah blah blah.
Never again, a complete shambles.Przetłumaczone automatycznie. - Klaus S.August 2022PozytywneThe place is clean, spacious and well maintainedNegatywneThe most terrible gastronomy I have ever experienced in my life as a camper.Great place, terrible gastronomyGreat place, very nicely laid out, sanitary facilities very clean. Great swimming lake with water playground, fully DLRG supervised. Separate areas for families, senior citizens and a group meadow. There is a bowling alley, bowling and a sports hall. Unfortunately, the gastronomy is below par. Only bland frozen and convenience food with an unfortunately completely overworked, unfriendly and unkempt waiter. Top for self-catering.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.

What you really need are bicycles is a must or a car otherwise you are a bit cut off.Przetłumaczone automatycznie. - Marcus K.August 2021PozytywneThe sanitary facilities were clean.NegatywneVery large space Very impersonal Not very well designed for overnight stays in tents. Relatively expensive.MarcusI was there for one night with my bike and tent.
The welcome and registration was very stiff and impersonal.
I found 22.05 for one night too expensive.
The allocated pitch was quite in the corner and the car traffic was very annoying.
I had to borrow an adapter for electricity after repeated requests.
Definitely nice for longer stays with a camper, as there is also a large lake.Przetłumaczone automatycznie. - Katja L.August 2021PozytywneIf you want peace and quiet and want to relax for a few days, this is the place for you! A beautiful lake!NegatywneWith dogs you have a separate place from the actual campsite!Without dogs it would be a nice place to go on vacation! We spent a few nice days there, it is very quiet you can relax very well or go cycling, but we had two small dogs with us and so we couldn't go on the actual campsite. Only in the kiosk/reception/restaurant area! We stayed on the south pitch, which we didn't like so much. The pitches are not sufficiently... marked and the sanitary building has also had its good times! You feel a bit excluded and are also looked at crookedly if you want to go to reception with the dogs because at the moment you are allowed to walk across the main square to the restaurant as there is a building site outside. We had read this beforehand but thought that there might be a small corner where you can take the dogs. So one of us always had to stay with the dogs when the children wanted to swim in the lake. The restaurant is to be emphasized, very tasty food and the young man who served us was very nice and courteous. The girls at reception were also very friendly. However, as it is at the moment, I can't recommend anyone with dogs to go there. You feel a bit discriminated against!Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Ulrich I.July 2021PozytywneGood pitch close to the sanitary buildings. Largely clean facilities. Super nice lake and great cycling area.NegatywneIt was a bit noisy due to a group of young people who were very fond of alcohol. The grounds could be better maintained. We liked it very muchBeautifully situated place on the water. A bit outdated. The place where pets are allowed looked terrible, but the main square was nice. Has an integrated outdoor pool. Great lake.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Anne S.June 2021Pozytywne-The staff were super friendly -the swimming lake is wonderful -test center on site -delicious bread rollsNegatywne-night's rest was not observed or controlled. -Wash house old and in my opinion not cleaned enoughPlace, is nice but still worse than last yearOn arrival the pitch was still occupied, we were only told that there was a mistake and the pitch may still be occupied until 8pm. We were there at 3pm, in perfect weather. We made a makeshift arrangement and two hours later we were able to get on the pitch.
However, we weren't really helped by the site,... just promised a bag of bread rolls, which we didn't even receive.
So we spent almost the whole afternoon setting up.
Then the staff didn't book our payment, so we had to ask 4 times if it was there.
Although it was there the whole time, but the place hadn't checked.
We always had to queue for a long time to ask
And last but not least, our wash house at the front of reception was always dirty and the toilets were always disgusting. Maybe we should think about cleaning a bit more often when the place is so full.
Last year the impression was better.Przetłumaczone automatycznie. - K. K.May 2021PozytywneLuckily we had nice weather and nice fellow campersNegatywneLocked in a fenced-in area, only accessible with a key.Dog kennelsI went there for a weekend with my children and the dog, as well as a family friend, also with a dog. The arrival was very disappointing, the pitches are narrow, or rather a large area where everyone can park their car as they please. Which makes maneuvering a bit difficult.
But that wasn't even the... bad thing, it is forbidden to go into the main square with a dog (except to the bakery and the beer garden, which has a courtyard feel), i.e. access to the lake is not possible. We were told there was a circular path outside the campsite where you could also get to the lake. Um.... nope! We walked around the lake, and if you make your way through the undergrowth, you also have the opportunity to get to individual "fishing bays" measuring around 2 square meters. Well..... but not much more. Back at the campsite, a south-facing site for dog owners, nicely fenced in and a rather dilapidated playground for the kids, the highlight was the sanitary facilities. We were lucky and had other nice families on our pitch, so the weekend was ok. But nice is different (and we've already been to a few campsites), because dog owners get the feeling of being 2nd class here. For us as a family it was the first and last time here!Przetłumaczone automatycznie. - Melanie B.May 2021PozytywnePeace and lots of nature all aroundNegatywneThe south pitch of the actual campsite is close to the lake, but unfortunately you don't have access or a view of the lake. Not recommended for dog ownersIf we had known that as dog owners we would end up on a small branch of the actual, very large main campsite, we would not have booked this vacation.
This south-facing site is totally secluded.
As you are not allowed to enter the main campsite with your dog and our children are between 5 and 8 years... old, so you can't send them off on their own, we couldn't enter the main campsite and couldn't make use of the facilities there. So we were "trapped" on the siding.
Even as a dog owner, you end up paying the full price as non-dog owners, who can use all the facilities of the main campsite. In other words, a view of the lake, access to the lake, lots of playgrounds for the children...
This was also the main reason why we chose this campsite, only to be disappointed on site. We could have booked a simple, and therefore much cheaper, campsite on site.
It's a shame that this is not reflected in the descriptions and that as a dog owner you feel like a second-class group on the campsite.Przetłumaczone automatycznie. - Sandro L.May 2021PozytywneSwimming facilities, everyone very nice, good bread service, good pitches!NegatywneRestaurantGood placeWe've been here for a week and are having lots of fun. - Volkmar Z.September 2020PozytywneA good starting point for cycling tours.NegatywneTourist spots far away from the lakeYou can go, but you don't have toThe place made a somewhat unkempt impression at first glance, the hedges and bushes could have been cut, access to the pitches very narrow, sanitary facilities already older but clean, on weekends by some groups very loud until late at night (04:00 am)
Restaurant is quite ok. Place is characterized by permanent campersPrzetłumaczone automatycznie. - Ralf U.August 2020PozytywneHmmmm......... I was allowed to stand wherever I wanted. Gorsser Plat, where I barely got in. Was clearly in a hedge of thorns. My caravan is only 440 from Eifelland.NegatywneWhere should I start? The campsite is not a special offer. But if I want to park my car, it costs 4 euros extra. My chemical toilet can only be emptied with the new cleaning system for 2 euros. Their motto, yes we can do camping. I think the best thing they can do is take money. The toilets were all shitty. When I tried again in the afternoon, they looked the same. Please not again.Never again, sanitary facilities impossible. Hard to reach with large caravans or motorhomes except by scrape.
It's like Fort Nox. The second bike through the door is already slammed shut.
Really not comfortable.
There is no chemical toilet emptying. Only with cleaning for a fee.
Car on the pitch also costs extra.Przetłumaczone automatycznie. - Jens H.August 2020PozytywneIdeal location on the lake and free use. Due to the unhindered access from the campsite, campers are preferred during the Corona period. Non-campers will no longer be allowed in after the lake closes because the permitted capacity limit has been reached.NegatywneDuring our time there were obviously many new campers on site, some of whom mistook the site for a festival area (music, loud conversations even after 22:00).Corona vacationThe toilets should have been cleaned twice a day because of Corona and would have needed it with the occupancy rate.
Loud overall.Przetłumaczone automatycznie. - Oliver M.August 2020PozytywneWe had a shady spotNegatywneThere are no water connections in the tent area. The shower heads could be replaced. The barrier did not work with the card. House rules... There are, but nobody followed them. Cars should not be driven onto the grass. No one was interested in our corner. We built veritable car castles. New guests arriving later were only "allocated" the remaining places from the groups that had arrived earlier. The party went on until after 1:00 a.m. and people were already agreeing who would tell the groundsman what to do because he had already complained beforehand. According to the motto, he can't do anything to us, we're leaving tomorrow anyway... What you don't notice when you try to sleep in a tent right next to it. If we hadn't only booked for two nights anyway, we would have gone like that! Apparently they assume that tent campers want to party... But with almost 58 years of camping experience, it's fair to say that such places are on the ignore list!Fortunately only a weekend!Once and never again This place has seen us for the first and last time! We need a rest now after the forced parties!Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Dirk S.July 2020PozytywneProximity to the lake, playgroundsNegatywneToo many dog tracks on the dog meadow, but this is the responsibility of the guests. Bags are displayed free of chargeExpectations were exceededWe arrived in a group of 4 caravans and had 2 wonderfully relaxing weeks. At first we had some reservations because of the sometimes devastating reviews, but these were not confirmed. The campsite to the south is a bit remote, but nice and quiet and ideal for children. It is not possible to leave the... site without a key, which limits the children's radius. The toilets were always clean and well maintained. The only negative experience we had was in the restaurant. It is advertised that an all you can eat spare ribs is offered on Saturdays. In the end, you had to wait a very long time for the ribs on the grounds that they were still in the oven and were then served at room temperature. And in the end there were none left and the all you can eat was over for all the guests. But enough ranting, all in all a great vacation park with beach, forest and lake with lots of leisure activities.Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
- Peter H.June 2020PozytywneSurroundings and seaside resortNegatywneHedges & lawn not cut; Toilets not cleaned for several days despite advice at reception; glass bottles on the beach; too many permanent campers turn the whole thing into an allotment garden settlement; 2 weeks of expired grilled sausage in the "market"less than we had hoped forThe campsite was recommended to us and that's why we ended up there. Old sanitary facilities wouldn't be so bad if they were cleaned properly - especially in Corona times. This wasn't the case for days, despite asking at reception/registration. Only on the day of departure was there toilet paper in all... the toilets again in the morning. However, on a campsite that wants to live up to the claim of the stars and the price/performance ratio, you expect more than daily cleaning and lawn and hedge trimming. From our pitch it was about 10 minutes to the lido through seemingly endless permanent camper pitches. The part of the campsite facing away was also almost exclusively occupied by permanent campers, which gave the impression of an allotment garden settlement. In my opinion, this has nothing whatsoever to do with camping!
The surrounding area is great for cycling and there are lots of beautiful spots to cycle to. Unfortunately, most of the cycle paths are along the larger roads and sometimes the paths indicated on the junction map are without a separate cycle path. Not suitable for children! Kalkar and Rees are certainly nice places to visit.
In any case, we won't be back!Przetłumaczone automatycznie.
