We have already been to the site 3 times in 2024 and compared to 2023 the cleanliness and especially the... cleaning performance by the service provider was a disaster. Here a cleaning is signed off in the checklists, but no service is provided.
For example, soap dispensers were empty immediately afterwards, as they had been the day before. Wet cleaning or disinfection does not take place. The towel paper is refilled and that's it. The two cleaning staff stood in front of the entrances.
Yes, the place was almost completely occupied, but to clean here only once a day is not acceptable.
The sanitary facilities are from the 80s and it is time to fundamentally renovate and expand them, as the place is quite well received.

Even when we registered, no answer was given to normal questions by email, then we tried to call, no chance!!!!
At different times on different days, no... one answered the phone. When we arrived we had the feeling that we had better leave, we were not welcome here, as we would probably cause too much work at the registration desk. We were then refused the pitches we had booked and had to go to a large meadow at the end of the campsite. A female camper felt disturbed by our tent set-up and complained to the campsite management, who immediately called the police. We were probably drinking alcohol. 😂
OK, this is supposed to happen on vacation when camping. The police then took our personal details under threat of being sent off. And all this in the afternoon at about 16:00. Great when you feel like a criminal on vacation. Unfortunately, you can't have fun here.
For us, a group of 12 men all over 50, this place is out of the question. We don't have to do this.
About the buildings:
Quite old and in need of renovation, the toilets can only be opened with a chip and smell very bad. All in all, the site seems to be geared more towards permanent campers, and as a short-term camper you have the feeling of being unwanted.
Lots of mosquitoes in summer.

We liked it very much. Absolutely perfect location. We had booked a pitch in advance because there were restrictions due to Corona. Not all pitches could be occupied. This meant that the campsite was full even though there were... still places available.

We checked in quickly with the friendly groundsman as we had a reservation. We had already asked for a pitch on the banks of the Main during our reservation and were given a pitch there on both visits. The pitches... for the caravan campers are big enough for caravan+car+awning/awning, and there is also enough space for an awning on the motorhome pitches. Electricity and water connections are close to the pitch, and satellite reception doesn't cause any problems. The site is also in a quiet location. There are no restaurants on the site, but there is a beach club right next door and the highly recommended Brauereigasthof Wichert is about a 10-minute walk away (table reservations are advisable). Stores for shopping are also only 5 minutes away by car. From the square you can also quickly reach the main roads and highways in the region. If you like small breweries with the opportunity for cozy eating and drinking, you will find an oversupply around Lichtenfels and Bad Staffelstein, but Franconia is famous for that anyway. The place was also really cheap. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities were a negative. These are quickly reached, but with their nato-olive green color scheme and the somewhat older furniture and the missing toilet seats (you sit directly on the ceramic bowl (no idea if this is also the case for the ladies), this is an absolute no-go! In addition, there are only 4 shower cubicles for the men, which is too few for the large space. The cleaning times from around 10:00 am also start too early. The sanitary facilities should definitely be renovated. At least everything worked and it was clean. Another small point of criticism is the bread roll service, which is only offered in the morning from 08:00 to 08:15. So if you want fresh bread rolls you can't sleep in. The bread roll service should be changed so that you order from the groundsman and the rolls can then be collected from 08:00 (or even later). From 4.30pm the reception was manned and they wanted us to move to another pitch number. Even though 2/3 of the pitches were not occupied. Apparently they don't want guests... here for one night. After we were forced to pack everything up again and move 10m we left the site. Basically quiet. We had one of the pitches with the permanent campers, almost directly on the lake. The permanent campers are all very nice and open. We felt very comfortable there. The only downside was that the sanitary facilities were a bit far away on foot, so you have... to take your bike. Drinking water and showers are free. The baker comes every morning and is great. Bring a little time for this. The queue is always long. Coffee and cold drinks for in between are available from the groundsman. Cooking facilities for 20 cents per kWh. Common room with book lending. Shopping facilities can be reached quickly by car, but also no problem by bike or on foot. The lake is also a bathing lake for local residents. Very clean. After the nice reception we were only able to place ourselves on the almost fully booked CP, but it was ok. Swimming in the nearby lake as well as in the Main was wonderfully refreshing! Sanitary facilities are a bit outdated, but very clean! Make sure... that the CEE plugs have a small housing! We couldn't insert our plug into the sockets on the pitch because the outer casing was simply too small! But no problem for one night. The bakery comes at 8.00 am - the very hungry are in the queue from 7.40 am (!)... But the bakery van is well stocked! The approach and exit to the CP through Lichtenfels is narrow, but can be mastered with good will and coordination with oncoming traffic.
