The pitches are large enough, mainly on grass. Sanitary facilities are ok but not the most modern. But on the whole very clean and well maintained. Friendly staff, great infrastructure. Beach very rocky and an ant infestation. Instead of making a cool playground for children, they set up an amusement arcade with vending machines. Interlaken offers everything you need, shopping, fun sports etc. The site is also a wonderful place to relax. The sanitary facilities should be renovated! Super excursion, Trümmelbach Falls... in the Lauterbrunnen Valley, walking trail to Interlaken and free return to the campsite by boat with the guest card, cycling excursion with the family around Interlaken. Be it hiking on the numerous mountains; strolling in Interlaken and on the lake; expensive shopping; all kinds of water sports, etc. The campsite is located directly on the lake and the view towards the left bank of Lake Thun is outstanding. The... pitches directly on the lake therefore offer a great view. The pitches are large enough. 'Our' sanitary building was a bit older, but clean and functional! It is a pity that there is no water directly on the pitch, so you have to carry it over long distances. Shopping facilities are available directly on the campsite - supermarkets are located in nearby Unterseen, as are numerous restaurants serving international and local cuisine. There are pitches right on the lake and what could be nicer than looking directly onto the lake at the breakfast table. In the evening unfortunately almost no lighting at all and only one sanitary building open.... at the entrance to the campsite. Unfortunately,... we couldn't find the chemical toilet outlet and couldn't ask because reception was only open a few times (winter season). Disposal station for campers not accessible for us (we discovered this by chance during a walk). All in all, we would have expected more from a 5* even in winter when already open (store closed and all other activities closed), old sanitary facilities. The sanitary facilities were... clean and some were nicely furnished. There are drawbacks for me regarding the infrastructure. We were there in May 2015 and only 1 sanitary building was completely self-contained, but unfortunately not heated. However, it was beautiful for three days and we were able to enjoy the surroundings. We visited Ballenberg with its open-air theater Via Mala (a must for people from Graubünden). A woman there, whose son is a mountain guide,... gave us the insider tip of visiting the Rosenlaui Gorge. It was simply unique and not overrun by tourists. Although we had booked for 10 days and decided to break off for good after 7 days, the owners of the campsite offered us a discount. We were lucky enough to get a pitch in the lower area close to the lake with a fantastic view over the lake and mountains. The sanitary facilities are ok but no better than average.
