The location is below average for Norway. Advantage: Only a few minutes to Saltstraumen. Our cabin had a spacious kitchen and a toilet, the price was reasonable. Everything was clean and the reception was very friendly. We received a very friendly welcome "in German" and had a free choice of pitches. The surface is mostly gravel, but there are also a few grass pitches to choose from. Unfortunately, there is no sea view. The shore of Saltstraumen is about 300m away... on foot. The sanitary facilities are exemplary. One of the wash houses seems to have just been completed. There are about 10 unisex bathrooms with shower, toilet and washbasin. There are also toilet rooms with washbasins. Anglers have access to a spotless filleting room with freezing facilities. At the end of August, we paid NOK 290 for a mobile home including electricity and 2 people. Showers and WLAN are free of charge. There is a small but well-stocked COOP supermarket and petrol station over the bridge to the other bank (1300m). Unfortunately, the peace and quiet is significantly impaired. There is the nearby country road, as well as a public road between the reception and the pitches. The Bodø airport cannot be ignored and there must be an air force base somewhere nearby that likes to practice low-level flights. ------------------------Note: Despite the many stars we awarded, we didn't really warm to the site. A 5-minute walk to SaltstraumenNegatywneThe base for motorhomes and caravans can be optimized and better prepared for the prevailing weather conditions.Ideal location coming from Bodø directly on the Saltstraumen.The site is located directly in front of the bridge over the Saltstraumen, the world's most famous and strongest maelstrom. It is only a few hundred meters to the bridge and the shore. The site is about 200m to the right of the Rv17 coming from Bodø and is ideal if you are coming from Lofoten and want... to follow the RV17. There is a supermarket and another campsite behind the bridge. The site is divided into an area with cabins and an unparceled area with pitches on different slopes, but most of it has electricity connections - even if the cables (have to) criss-cross the paths. The surface is partly graveled (very rough - mover problems), partly softened meadow, a few places are muddy and have deep furrows (certainly also due to this year's continuous rain). The toilet is disposed of on the floor drain for the motorhomes, which I personally find extremely unsightly. The reception has a huge room at its disposal, in which the reception desk gets lost. Instead of setting up a well-equipped store here, the offer is reduced to the usual tourist things and the minimum equipment of drinks and food in the fridge. The modern and apparently new sanitary building scores well. It is one of the best sanitary facilities I have seen since Vestaralen and Lofoten. Very good sanitary facilitiesNegatywneSomewhat carelessly laid out campsiteGood location on RV 17 and Saltstraumen, not far from Bodö (approx. 30km)This campsite is particularly popular due to its location on the Saltstraumen and its location on the RV17. If you are coming from the Lofoten Islands or want to travel on to them, this is a good place to spend the night, with very good sanitary facilities. This campsite is particularly popular with... anglers due to its direct location on the Saltstraumen, which is just a few minutes' walk away. Otherwise, the campsite has little charm and is not exactly inviting for a longer stopover, the areas are graveled, there are a few grass pitches. The sanitary facilities are really very good, all single cabins with WC/shower/washbasin! However, at our time the campsite was very busy and so you had to expect longer waiting times before you finally got a free cabin. - Marek M.July 2014Perfect place for relaxVery nice located camping site around 500meters from the world’s strongest maelstrom in Saltstraumen where 4 times per day acc. to time schedule 400 million cubic meters of water flowing at the speed of up to 20 knots! Also very good place for fishing. There is grocery shop next to campsite. WiFi available for free with not so good condition- only the highest speed next to the reception. Price- 240NOK/day including electricity and shower.

We can generally recommend the campsite, but it might get boring after 2-3 days. Visiting the Saltstaumen (approx. 500 meters on foot) at different times is a unique natural... spectacle.
