We really enjoyed it and will definitely be back!Traduzido automaticamente.
- Urs M.September 2021PositivosNoneNegativosEverythingPlain textIt's time to speak plainly! We've been going to the Lido Mappo several times a year for 25 years and have always been delighted - but that's over now! A new sanitary building is being built and not even a year later the prices are being raised by a whopping 15%. But that's not all - a new mid-season... is also being introduced. As a result, our pitch would have cost a whopping 30% more in 2022 than in 2021! Respect 30%! I don't want to know how many CHF we have left on the Lido Mappo in 25 years and used to pre-finance the new sanitary building, because nothing has actually happened on the pitch in those 25 years. To top it all off, the old reservation regulations are now being reintroduced - reservation fee, payments on account and if you have to cancel your vacation - the money continues to go on vacation at Lido Mappo - because you have to pay for the entire reserved time.
As an example of how things can be done differently, here are a few pictures of a campsite in Germany. A real luxury sanitary building in black marble is being built - and will the prices be raised? No! And no, the pitch is not more expensive than on the Lido Mappo, but even cheaper than the Lido Mappo was until 2021!
The Lido Mappo won't see another centime from us - there are other beautiful destinations!Traduzido automaticamente. - Beat B.August 2020PositivosDirect access to the lake, with sunbathing lawn, sandy beach etc.NegativosFloods, fortunately it's not the site's fault:-)We love this placeWe like the large pitches that you can choose with more or less sun, except for those with lake access, which are really scarce. We always experience very helpful and friendly staff, clean sanitary facilities and the oldest one is now being replaced, we are looking forward to it. The proximity to the... lake and the short distance to Locarno, the TeneroCentro for shopping and the central location for excursions all make the campsite a relaxing vacation spot. It wouldn't be my first choice for families with small children, but it certainly would be for over 55s.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Regula F.October 2019Fall vacationWe were so disappointed here last Saturday, I asked to make a reservation and was told that no reservations are accepted for short breaks, but we should just come, there would be enough free places! We arrived with a good feeling and when it was finally our turn to check in we were told it was full,... so unlucky! Unfortunately, the start of our vacation was anything but optimal and the friendliness or rather the helpfulness at the reception left a lot to be desired, a pity for the campsite!Traduzido automaticamente.
- Beatrice K.September 2019Vacation in TicinoWe spent 6 wonderful nights here. The campsite is highly recommended. Very quiet and the sanitary facilities very clean. Were cleaned several times a day. Store was absolutely everything available, so you can find everything you need to camp!!! We will be back!!!Traduzido automaticamente.
- Susanne B.October 2018PositivosClean, friendly, beautiful on the lakeNegativosVery expensiveCampers with higher demandsVery clean and friendly. Ideal for campers with higher requirements - pitches with water/waste water are available. Nice shady pitches. Very full and cramped in high season. Service and quality in the restaurant has declined - except if you are from nearby - then extremely friendly and courteous.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Peter T.October 2017PositivosFriendliness, location, pitch layout, catering in the restaurant, shopping facilities on the pitch.NegativosSanitary facilities are very clean, but could do with some renovation. The perfect campsite in the Locarno areaWe have also visited the campsite several times this year. At weekends for short stays and in the fall for vacations. We always appreciate the very friendly, motivated and helpful staff. From the reception to the quiet helpers who keep the sanitary facilities and the site clean. BRAVO and grazie milleTraduzido automaticamente.
- Christian B.September 2017PositivosPitches Restaurant Cleanliness Price-performance for CH topNegativosSanitary should be refreshedBeautiful placeWe have been coming to Lido Mappo for many years and we always like it. The pitches are structured and large. You can hear the road at the front, but it's better at the back. Some of the sanitary facilities are getting on in years, but they are always clean. The restaurant is highly recommended, also... for take-away. Grocery store with a good selection. What is striking over the years is that it is always the same people at reception, in the store, restaurant, cleaning ladies and gardeners. This makes everything that little bit more personal. We would love to come back.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Alfons E.July 2017PositivosWide range of possibilitiesNegativosStreetGreat campsiteIdeal starting point for exploring Ticino! Campsite in a very nice location. You can hear the road a little - but you are very central.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Günther L.June 2017PositivosDirect location on the lake Bus and boat connection to LocarnoNegativosHave not found any disadvantagesDirectly on the lakeFriendly staff Mix of old and new sanitary facilities Plot size is sufficient Good restaurantTraduzido automaticamente.
- Markus S.May 2017PositivosThere is still space available if the other seats are already full.Beautiful place by the lakeFriendly reception and quick check-in. Free choice of pitches. Old and new sanitary facilities. Clean. Sand and pebble beach. Ideal for children. Well-stocked supermarket and restaurant on site. 10 min walk to the bus stop for Locarno. WiFi included. Good value for money.Traduzido automaticamente.
- epli 2.April 2017PositivosWell located.Good but not 5 starsThe site is well located and we had a nice big pitch, there is a well-equipped store, and the food and prices in the restaurant are okay. WC facilities are not locked from the outside and when it's cold, so are the toilets. The showers I used had too little pressure, and hot and cold alternated up and... down without touching the tap. Everything seems a little outdated. This was our second time on the site and again the WIFI didn't work. We pointed this out to reception and they said they would report it to the manager immediately. But we think they just wanted to put us off. So the site is certainly in a nice location and the price was right for us....but ***** is too much.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Patrick F.April 2017PositivosLakeNegativosPlot size, old sanitary facilities, no free wifi. Ok, but no 5 starsEmergency solutionWe ended up here after other places in Tenero were full. Reception was friendly and nice but extremely time-consuming due to a new employee. Pitches are extremely small. No electricity directly at the pitch. Partly long cable necessary. Sanitary behind reception is old. The other two have been gently... renovated from the outside. The charm of days gone by prevails inside. Too few sanitary facilities when fully occupied as now in the east. 2 showers per block m/f. Ticino has introduced a tourist tax since 2017. In return, you can use public transport for free with the guest card. Due to server overload at the tourist office, we only received this on the last day after repeated requests. If the place had 3 stars everything would be ok. 5 stars also raises expectations among customers. The place definitely does not deserve 5 stars and falls far behind other 5 star places.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Kurt R.September 2016PositivosThis place is really wonderfully quiet in the low season.NegativosHave not found any defects.Short vacation in the low seasonWe have just enjoyed a short vacation at the Lido Mappo. A wonderful place in Ticino now in the low season. A cycle tour to Ascona was also wonderful because the cycle paths are not overcrowded. As always, the restaurant is highly recommended. We will certainly visit this place again.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Daniel K.September 2016Positivos+ Cleanliness + Location by the lake + Restaurant + Price / performance ratioBeautiful campsite by the lakeBeautiful and well-kept site. Sanitary facilities heated in spring and fall, always clean. Good restaurant on site. A small sandy beach and jetties are also available. We recommend a walk along the lake to Locarno, in summer there is also a free boat service to Locarno near the campsite. A tip: hike up the Cimetta, or easier by cable car and chairlift from Locarno, magnificent views of Lake Maggiore.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Monica R.August 2016PositivosVery friendlyNegativosvery bad internet not worth 5 starsmy impressionCleanliness none internett does not work at all television only on some places toilets also not very clean trees much too highTraduzido automaticamente.
- Ralf K.April 2016NegativosWorkers on the site extremely inconsiderate, especially with the lawnmowers and the degree and leaf blowers. Very dusty.Vacation in Ticino CHUnfortunately very noisy in the morning at 8.00 am. Lawnmowers, trucks and workers on the pitch. Unfriendly lady at the registration desk. Food in the restaurant highly recommended. Electrical distributors far apart. In the worst case you need 50m of cable.Traduzido automaticamente.
- johannes n.September 2015PositivosVery clean, especially the new sanitary facilities.NegativosHighway and helicopter audible, but not disturbing. We come every year in the N season. Top with direct lake access.Ideally suited for seniors. Unfortunately you can hear the highway a little. Very nice vegetation. The price-performance ratio is right for Switzerland. The lakeside pitches are highly recommended, the view, especially when the sun disappears behind the mountains, is sensational.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Caroline S.September 2015Positivosbeautiful location, friendly staff, directly on the cycle pathNegativosPrice compared to plot sizegood but not surpassedWe stayed at the campsite for a weekend. The staff are very friendly. The sanitary facilities are simple and the showers are not completely clean (hair). The toilets were very clean, but open at the top, which can be chilly in the fall. The washing-up area is spacious and clean. The pitches are not very... big. The highway and the train can be heard at night (but not disturbing). The shop has many items; bread only if ordered in advance. The restaurant is HIGHLY recommended. All in all good, but too expensive for what is on offer.Traduzido automaticamente.
- René R.May 2014Positivosbeautiful location transit campers and permanent campers spatially separated clean sanitary facilitiesNegativosPitch size Sanitary facilities do not correspond to 5 stars or the price partly noise pollutiontried out as a Campofelice alternativeSo far, we have always ended up at Campofelice for a short trip to the south. The layout of the campsite there, with more and more seasonal pitches in the middle of the campsite and more luxury pitches, has prompted us to look for an alternative - in the same area, of course, which is just so beautiful.... So we are now trying Lido Mappo. The start is already right: Only the 1st row on the lake is even more expensive than the normal pitches. Behind that you pay the normal price. There are no permanent campers, they are in the rear area of the campsite. The pitches in the area between the reception and the boat harbor suffer from the noise of the adjacent sports facility and the nearby highway. The pitches towards the neighboring site are somewhat quieter. Compared to Campofelice, the size of the pitches is - well, you can't expect to fit a caravan, awning and car on all the pitches without problems. I was also unable to understand the increase in plot size mentioned on the site map on the homepage. The pitches between sanitary buildings 4 and 5 seem to come closest to the term "large". The layout of the pitches is quite different. In general, the further towards the lake, the less grass. The sanitary buildings are very clean, but I wonder what the 5 stars stand for. The facilities are too basic for that. The campsite has a very well-stocked store. We didn't try the restaurant. The direct connection to the promenade to Locarno is nice. All in all, we found the atmosphere on the Lido Mappo more to our taste, but we miss the large pitches here.Traduzido automaticamente.
