At first we were told there were no more places. When the lady at reception then realized that we had come by bike, there were still pitches, because they make an exception for hikers and cyclists.... They want to be a family campsite and don't like noisy groups. Fine, we just wanted to pitch our tent and sleep comfortably, we thought. We also had to pay an additional 20 euros per person 'behavior deposit' to make sure we behaved ourselves. We scraped together the last of our cash, as you can't pay by card anywhere in the village. Of course, you can only pay the behavioral deposit in cash. So after checking in, we had to go to the nearest ATM 8 km away to secure our dinner. Back at the campsite, the showers were closed from 10pm. Thank you very much! The entire campsite has to share 2 washbasins in the sanitary facilities from 10 o'clock in the evening, a great idea for 'toothbrushing happy hour'. After 10 p.m. it was anything but quiet, because the party campers simply wandered 1m next to the campsite with loudspeakers (i.e. behind the red and white barrier tape that separates the campsite from the public beach) and shouted and listened to loud music all night long. The 'behavioral deposit' rule is really a bad joke! A few meters further on there were also other party wild campers. Reaction from the receptionist: yes, we'll have to put up with it. It's just a rip-off: even 10 euros for a tent pitch is too much, especially as showers (if they are open) cost extra. There is no electricity on the normal campsites anyway, which are also not separated. The biggest plus of the campsite is definitely its location! We camped right by the water and enjoyed breakfast and dinner right by the lake. Pure camping luxury :-) Electricity was... also available on the tent site. It was just a shame that the ground was quite hard and we had trouble hammering in our pegs (but it worked with a hammer). The owner explained to us that the site is under water most of the year, which is why there is no "tent meadow". The sanitary facilities were as clean as you could wish for, just as the site is generally kept very clean (twice a day we saw someone walking around with tongs). We would like to see a bathing pool for small children in the sanitary facilities. Perhaps as a suggestion :) We met a very nice and motivated staff, which is also important to feel comfortable on a campsite! Nice people also at the snack bar, the small supermarket (prices okay, fresh bread rolls to order) and the fish smokehouse! The night's rest seems to be taken quite strictly, which was of course very good for us as young parents. The direct proximity to the public beach (gravel) and the playground is also child-friendly. When we were looking for a place, the website made a good impression. Definitely the last time we booked a site without checking the reviews. As soon as we arrived, we met the "sheriff" who immediately and firmly told... us to put in a parking disk, although we only wanted to report briefly to reception. In general, the staff were not really service-oriented. The location of the campsite is great, but it was still very noisy well after 10pm. The pitch is very hard in places, fortunately we were not allocated one of the pitches in the sanitary building. The cleaning staff tried hard, but couldn't seem to cope with the rush to the sanitary facilities, so that the showers in particular didn't look particularly attractive. In our opinion, the fact that you always have to have a euro ready to shower is no longer in keeping with the times. In the end, we broke off our stay early, which we also announced. Nobody was interested in why, but we were told MULTIPLE times (not very friendly) that we would not get any money back. If you want to use your satellite system, you should find out about the... pitch in advance. Some of the pitches are under large trees, no reception! The branches hang down to the roof. However, you can rent a cable for the cable connection. The pitch rent is not exactly cheap either, you have to pay an extra €1 for the shower. Water is then available for about 6 minutes. There is one wash cubicle for women and none for men. Rehbach is also not known for its goodwill. We had booked for two nights and my wife fell ill during the night on the first day. We left the next morning, right after registration opened. Had to pay for two full nights (€47.20!!! motorhome and two adults). We arrived with 2 caravans and luckily were allowed to see our allocated, booked pitches before registration..... It... was horrible! We were "parked" directly behind the fence of the waste disposal point of the fish restaurant and the second pitch was directly behind the restaurant with the smell of fresh fish and deep fryers every day. The pitch was so small that our car no longer fitted on it or we could have just sat in the camper van. Shady pitches are sometimes quite pleasant in summer but under such large and shady trees it was just dark. Although it was sunny and warm, we only sat in the shade, which in turn was very cool during the day. Oh yes, this was also a comfort pitch. The only comfort there was that fresh water, waste water and electricity were directly at the pitch. However, with our 4.50 m camper van, the pitch was already completely full, awning or awning would not have fitted, as the footpath ran directly in front of it. The sanitary facilities were fine and clean. The night's sleep..... takes some getting used to, as the raccoons work on the restaurant's garbage cans (containers!) at night (banging lids, the animals argue very loudly and fight, loud smacking and scratching). Only the scar of "green turf" was visible as grass. The whole site was very small and narrow. Maneuvering not possible (caravans had to be parked in and out by hand!). We only stayed 1 night instead of the booked 10 nights! The advantage here was that the deposit paid in the high season (€30 per pitch) was offset against the stay. We were massively disappointed with the whole place - the area around the Edersee was still very beautiful. There are plenty of leisure activities and basic food supplies are also available nearby. The staff are extremely friendly, the prices are... reasonable, and if you don't expect gold-plated taps, you can be quite satisfied with the sanitary facilities.
