- Corina H.September 2024PositivosProximity to the cityNegativosno privacy, sanitary building, uneven pitchesVery narrow access roadPure stress on arrival: narrow access road, the exit of a camper van site is right next to the barrier, guests of the swimming pool park their cars - and everyone wants to move around somehow. That's why security is on hand. Staff only speak French. No hedges or bushes to divide the plots. Actually a good location, but we didn't like the CPTraduzido automaticamente.
- Tina K.June 2024PositivosClose to the center. Plenty of shade.NegativosUnfriendly staff, poor to no advice, unclear pricing at check-in, no site, route or price descriptions in the languages of the neighboring countries, no wifi, no electricity for cyclists with batteries, no lounge. The high proportion of right-wing extremist ideas in Lorraine and the frustration and victim attitude that is unfortunately typical of Lorraine towards people who can supposedly afford something is particularly evident at this campsite. Very unpleasant and also very inappropriate.Light and lots of shadeNo member of staff could or would deign to speak English or any language other than French with guests. I often translated for older guests.
Only suitable to a limited extent for cyclists with tents, as no sockets are provided to charge batteries/mobile phones.
Quite expensive (but normal as a city campsite)....
Old sanitary facilities. Rarely clean.
Lots of shade due to many trees.
Seating for campers.
Close to the city center.
Beautifully situated, directly on the Moselle (ATTENTION: strong current, very dangerous for children).
Metz is very beautiful and geared towards tourism. At the same time, people "traditionally" look enviously and sometimes frustratedly at the economically stronger Saarbrücken ("the" Germans).
I find it strange that the municipality is not making more of an effort to attract tourist-friendly, cosmopolitan, educated staff to its campsite.Traduzido automaticamente. - Esther S.May 2024PositivosLocation, ideal for visiting beautiful Metz. The site was well maintained and the reception was very friendly. Well guarded pitch.NegativosSanitary facilities could be a bit cleaner.walking distance to the city centerWe would go there again. Couple without a child.
A beautiful campsiteTraduzido automaticamente. - Hendrik J.July 2023PositivosVery friendly and helpful staffNegativosThe wash houses are an absolute no go!!!Beautifully situated place with a grotty wash houseWe stayed at the campsite with a caravan for 2 nights at the end of July/beginning of August. The approach is a bit narrow. We received a friendly welcome from the ladies at the registration desk and were allocated a pitch. The location of the campsite directly on the Moselle is very nice. The pitches... are very spacious and the town center is about a 15-minute walk away.
Unfortunately, the wash houses were so dirty and spartan that they were more like a restroom at a highway rest stop. The showers are also not recommended! The supposed restaurant on the site is not inviting and looks more like an old snack bar. Conclusion: The square is a great place to visit the city of Metz, but you should definitely avoid the restaurant and wash houses on the square!Traduzido automaticamente. - Roswitha R.August 2019PositivosCity campsite, everything within walking distanceNegativosSanitary worn outFor the city tourAs this is a town square, everything is within easy walking distance, but there is also a certain amount of background noise. Pitches are uneven. Sanitary building old and worn, only two ladies toilets for an enormous number of pitches, which were unsightly despite cleaning, also applies to the showers,... the water was lukewarm. For one/two nights to explore Metz ok, price with tourist tax 21,60€ for 2 persons, caravan, electricity, which is justified.Traduzido automaticamente.
- K. M.May 2019NegativosSanitary facilities despite new construction under any sow.Ideal location for a visit to MetzThe sanitary facilities were in poor condition. The toilets were overcrowded and blocked for days. When asked, all I got was a shrug of the shoulders........Traduzido automaticamente.
- Andreas S.May 2019Just a stone's throw from the city centerBeautifully situated site directly on the Moselle. The pitches are very spacious for a city campsite, our pitch had approx. 75m² of well-kept lawn. Unfortunately, most of the pitches are steeply sloping towards the bank, which is why we positioned ourselves parallel to the Moselle, otherwise the wedges... would not have been enough. We received a very friendly welcome and were allocated a suitable grass pitch. Electricity connections and water taps are 20 meters away, as are garbage cans. There are wooden benches with tables every 50 meters and a number of rotary clothes dryers dotted around the site. Barbecuing with charcoal is only permitted at a stationary barbecue in the front area. Wifi is free in the reception area. Showers are also free of charge. The front wash house appears to be new, but the rear wash house is also acceptable if you can live with toilets without glasses. Tip for Metz: The market hall is a must for gourmets (right next to the cathedral)Traduzido automaticamente.
- Thomas S.April 2019Unfriendly placeVery unfriendly staff on their high horse. This place is not recommended with this staff.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Rosemarie S.June 2018PositivosRestaurants, sights and shopping facilities in the cityNegativosThe pitches, some of which are really very uneven.Attraction of MetzWe can also confirm much of what has already been written. However, we found the staff to be friendly and as we know that the site is not of a very high standard, we consciously accept this in order to take advantage of the benefits. We like the location on the river, as a stopover for one night it's... great if you know about the good restaurants within walking distance and the next morning before continuing your journey you can do all kinds of good shopping in the market hall.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Uschi K.May 2018PositivosIdeal location for excursions into the cityNegativosInadequate sanitary facilitiesLocation good, rest well...The site is ideally located for exploring Metz. Unfortunately, neither German nor English was spoken at check-in during our current stay. According to the Metz city website, this is supposed to be the case. Furthermore, the reception was not friendly. One sanitary building has probably been under renovation... for some time, therefore currently only a very insufficient number of toilets and showers. There were only 2 toilets and 3 showers for ladies at the end of May 2018. From 17.04. to 01.06. the pitches near the Moselle (approx. 50%) are closed due to the risk of flooding. The store is only very spartanly equipped. The snack bar offers little at hefty prices. Nevertheless, we will visit the Paltz again as we love Metz and the site is ideal for excursions into the city.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Harald B.August 2017PositivosClose to the highway and city centerNegativosSanitary dirty and scarce, pitches partly very sloping slope, restaurant offer deterrentSightseeing and transit areaConveniently located as an overnight stop when passing through. Also for a city tour, Metz is worth at least one day. Quiet leaves something to be desired in the late afternoon and early morning because of the guests passing through, otherwise only noise from the construction site nearby from time to... time (planned for the end of mid-2018). The sanitary facilities cannot be praised, the larger facility closed in the afternoon for no apparent reason, the smaller one just completely filthy and repulsive. We were put off by the restaurant, we didn't try it. For self-catering, we recommend a visit to the market halls next to the cathedral. A highlight at the end of a stroll through the city. The site staff were very friendly to us.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Alfons L.August 2017PositivosProximity to the cityNegativosLots of trafficGood for visitors to MetzVery suitable for a visit to the city of Metz due to the central location. actually nice pitches, transit area with high travel frequency. French standard sanitary facilities. In the access road outside the site some rotten caravans that leave a negative impression.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Werner S.June 2017Positivosthe situationNegativosSanitary building too small, remnants of the building site all around.Fine as a place to stay overnightRegistration was a bit awkward, but we got a good sized pitch. The restaurant had lonely, uninviting grilled chickens, otherwise there wasn't much on offer. The large sanitary building was closed, the small one was just fine due to the low occupancy. Cleanliness: ok. Big advantage: you can be in the... city center in a few minutes, it was quite quiet in the evening. If you come to Metz from the east and follow the signs, you drive right through the old town. The streets around the city center are wider, but the campsite is only signposted at the end. The entrance to the campsite is quite narrow, especially if two people want to get in and out at the same time.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Helmut M.June 2017PositivosLocation on the Moselle. Short distance to the centerNegativosUnfriendly and unhelpful staff. Closed sanitary facilities. Severe slope on some of the pitchesA place with light and shadeWe spent 2 nights on the pitch during a stopover. The pitch conditions are not ideal as some of the pitches were on steep slopes. The staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful. A wash house was being renovated and could not be used. The hit was that despite full occupancy parts of the ladies toilets were closed. The location is very good as only 5 minutes to the center.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Regina P.June 2017PositivosLocation, transport connections.Negativos-bad sanitary facilities for years -Construction site for what felt like an eternity -unfriendly, ineffective reception -poor infrastructureTop location, lousy infrastructureThe place lives from its top location directly on the Moselle, five minutes walk to the city center and quick access to the highway. Otherwise lousy infrastructure observed over several years now. Too few sanitary facilities, dirty, clumsy people at reception, poorly organized work processes, minimalist on-site catering. We wouldn't use it if the location wasn't so good.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Helmut M.May 2017Incompetent staffWe were a larger camper van with 2 people) arrived at around 17:30. The receptionist took what felt like an hour to fill out the forms and allocated us a pitch at the end of the campsite. However, this was occupied, neighbors told us that we were not the first ones who had experienced this at this site.... at the reception it turned out that the staff knew about this situation. Although the pitch was more than half empty, we were told at reception that the pitch was completely reserved. Did 75 campers still want to arrive after 18:00?Traduzido automaticamente.
- Gabriele S.May 2017Small camping vehicles pay withAs I have a "small camping vehicle", I am allocated a parking space between the fence and the path. There is no more room for a small table and chair. After criticism, I am given another pitch. The number is not listed on the signs, the search begins. It's another tiny pitch, including a garbage can.... At the municipal campsite in Metz, a camper van is given "only a small pitch for the same price", even if the campsite is almost empty and there are plenty of large pitches available. I think that's an affront. Not worthy of a city like Metz.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Carsten G.September 2016PositivosClose to the highway Close to the beautiful old town Bread and snack bar on siteNegativossomewhat sloping terrain Sanitary somewhat undersizedGood transit area directly on the MoselleWe used the site as a transit site. The location close to the old town is great. The site itself is rather simple. It is an open meadow area, some of the pitches are a bit sloping, but normal wedges are enough to compensate. The proximity to the highway is good and Metz is worth a stop.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Jürgen Z.August 2015PositivosBeautiful location on the Moselle and close to the center, friendly staff, free W-LAN.NegativosNo real disadvantagesIdeal city and stage locationWe were on the site with our caravan for an overnight stay in mid-August. As the initially allocated pitch was so sloping that we could hardly level the caravan, we asked for and received a more level pitch. The historic town center with all the stores is just a few minutes' walk away. It doesn't bother... us that the store and restaurant on the square only have a small range of products. Probably because of the large construction site behind the square, a sanitary block was closed at the time and replaced by containers. Otherwise, the construction site (at least between arrival Sunday afternoon and departure Monday morning) did not bother us.Traduzido automaticamente.
- Lara G.August 2014Quite ok, but nothing more...Central location, right in Metz and on the river. The campsite was very full (August 2014), narrow pitches - you hardly have any space for yourself. The pitches themselves are not separated by hedges or similar. Used as a drive-through site in high season (August), so you may need to make a reservation.... Otherwise you can also stand directly in front of the site in the public and free parking lot (during our stay there were about 20 motorhomes). Sanitary facilities acceptable, toilet paper only in the anteroom, not in the individual cabins. Condition quite old, not cleaned thoroughly for a long time. The pitches in front of the sanitary facilities are actually a tarred parking lot - nothing to be seen of the beautiful idyllic flair mentioned by the previous speakers. There is a huge building site behind the campsite, separated by a high concrete wall with barbed wire.Traduzido automaticamente.
