- Cornelia B.July 2024PlusuriVery friendly staff, very clean sanitary facilities, restaurant price performance is also right, we ate very well, bus connection to the city great for 1.30 euros.MinusuriNothing to complain aboutRecommended again and againAlways
recommended.Tradus automat. - Andrea B.July 2023PlusuriPitch okay... Reception very friendly... Sanitary facilities okay....MinusuriThe restaurant is a disaster... staff and management totally haphazard... very very unfriendly.... And after more than an hour we didn't get any food because the staff had to eat first... just catastrophic...Restaurant is a disasterThe place is okay except for the restaurant.... Criterion for us not to come backTradus automat.
- Tim K.September 2022PlusuriSan Gimignano within easy walking distanceMinusuriSanitary facilities below averageNice place near San GimignanpLots of trees on the campsite. Located right next to San Gimignano station, so it can get noisy. For larger motorhomes there are fenced and gated pitches in front of the campsite, but some without electricity or water. Sanitary facilities not clean. No bread rolls, only very expensive croissants.Tradus automat.
- Reiner G.September 2020PlusuriThe location in the forestMinusuriRelatively loudBeautiful place to visit San GimignanoIf you want to visit the town of San Gimignano, you can't miss this site. The reception is very friendly and the sanitary facilities are a bit outdated, but very clean. Breakfast can be ordered in advance at the counter in the restaurant. The restaurant with a great view is highly recommended, but it... should be pointed out to out-of-town guests that you should not talk loudly in front of the fence of the campsite in the middle of the night, leaving engines running (especially not with motorcycles). Those who are there on Sunday can look forward to loud music from the neighboring sports grounds. AC/DC fans will get their money's worth. Unfortunately, the stadium announcer kept interrupting the music. The swimming pool was unfortunately closed due to the coronavirus.Tradus automat.
- Peter G.April 2019PlusuriSuper cleanMinusuriNoneGreat placeSuper friendly staff, super clean showers, a really nice place at the back, steeper descent to the pitchesTradus automat.
- Wolfgang P.June 2018PlusuriClose to the city with its own bus stopMinusuriArrive early because of the great locationGreat placeThe location close to the city and its accessibility by bus (departure directly in front of the campsite gate (75 cents one way)) has already been written about several times. The location itself is also very nice, the way it is laid out. Some of the pitches are under trees or on terraces with no shade.... There are also some simple and inexpensive motorhome pitches (use the small footpath immediately to the left behind the entrance gate and then walk up and along the embankment to the left in front of pitch 75). There was always something going on on the adjacent sports field and the Italian soccer mentality was always audible. There is a public outdoor pool about 200 meters away, which can be used free of charge with the campsite tickets. But now I have to mention the sanitary facilities. Not only are they as good as new and very clean, but each toilet room has its own washbasin with mirror and most even have a bidet! Sensational! Okay, but the showers don't have a shelf or you have to use the upper edge of the wall. All in all, a great place, but you have to arrive in good time. There are not many pitches and now in the low season everything was occupied from 3 pm at the latest, late arrivals were turned away.Tradus automat.
- Christian S.October 2017PlusuriLocation, new mobile home, peace and quietMinusuriTV not available in the mobile homeGreat mobile home, top location for sightseeingWe spent 9 nights in a mobile home and were very satisfied, everything was very clean and new. The location is perfect for hikers and/or those interested in culture.Tradus automat.
- Andreas J.June 2017PlusuriGood locationMinusuriWasn't there long enough to judge thatNice placeWe were only on the site for one night, so I can't say much. The pitches are big enough, the sanitary facilities clean and we had a good meal in the restaurant. A bus runs several times a day directly from the campsite to San Gimignano. Recommended for a visit to the town.Tradus automat.
- Elisabeth B.May 2017PlusuriLocationMinusurinothing worth mentioningCP in a great locationThere was only room for our over 7m long camper van + motorcycle trailer in "zone blue". This meant a longer walk to the sanitary facilities, no WiFi reception, noise pollution from the adjacent sports complex, but plenty of space. The restaurant turned us away at lunchtime due to a closed party. The toilets are large and clean, the showers unfortunately only have hooks on the door. The location in the heart of Tuscany is of course unbeatable.Tradus automat.
- Gu B.September 2016PlusuriClose to San Gimignano. Place to spend the night okay.MinusuriSanitary facilitiesPlace to spend the night okayThe site is basically very nice. Only the sanitary facilities are apparently not cleaned regularly and smell a bit. The staff were very friendly. A bus runs several times a day to San Gimignano at a very reasonable price (€ 0.75 for a one-way ticket). Water and electricity were directly at the pitch in the lower area.Tradus automat.
- Silvia H.June 2016PlusuriQuiet, without car to the city, sanitary clean and niceMinusurinoneGood starting point for sightseeingVery quiet location. Friendly reception. Very uneven for tents, but shady. Nice clean sanitary facilities. Shuttle bus 75 cents to the city. On foot in about 20 min. Price rather reasonable.Tradus automat.
- Ulrich H.October 2015PlusuriLocation RestaurantBeautiful place in the heart of TuscanyVery nice and quietly located campsite near San Gimignano. A bus runs to the center every 30 minutes, but the walk is also no problem. The restaurant on the square is particularly recommended. Beware, the tiled path to the sanitary facilities is very slippery when it rains. Otherwise good and very clean sanitary facilities.Tradus automat.
- Günther M.September 2015PlusuriPeace, friendliness, close to the city (approx. 3 km)MinusuriWoMo disposal problematic due to steep drivewayBeautiful place, not just for sightseeingPlace to visit San Gimiginanio; very friendly staff; quiet place, central sanitary building, very clean, sufficient showers and toilets. As the sanitary facilities are in the basement, it smells a bit like a sewage treatment plant; the facilities themselves are very clean. Electricity is included; sufficiently... large pitches; many tent pitches and pitches for smaller camping vehicles; bus line 1 to San Gimi stops at the site. Bus ticket at the reception (0.75 € / person and way). Nice and good restaurant on site, where you can also buy bread and rolls. Attention: Disposal for camper vans possible, but very !!! steep access ramp. We have heard several vehicles touching down.Tradus automat.
- Thomas E.June 2015PlusuriGood for visiting the Chioanti including Sienna.MinusuriCramped pitches, showers without the option of changing clothesGood starting point for visiting ChiantiWe stayed on the site for three nights. The pitches are a bit small and maneuvering is difficult as everything is a bit cramped. The reception was very friendly and we were able to choose our own pitch. The upper pitches are easy to reach, the lower ones in the forest are more difficult as it is very... steep. The sanitary facilities are in the basement of the main building. Very clean. The showers have a small anteroom, so you have to change outside in the corridor or take a waterproof bag for your clothes into the shower - very inconvenient. There is a public outdoor pool next door which you can use free of charge - highly recommended.Tradus automat.
- Viola L.April 2015PlusuriGood starting point for visits to the towns of San Gimingiano, Volterra and SienaMinusuriThe sanitary buildingNot a campsite for longer vacationsWe stayed there for two nights with our motorhome in April. We received a very warm welcome at reception. WLAN did not work. The campsite is laid out in terraces, whereby the pitches are easy to reach and at ground level. Most of the campsite is occupied by mobile homes, but these are not directly next... to the pitches. There is a pool, but it was not open. There is a restaurant and a very small store that sells bread rolls in the morning. There is a lot of commotion, as the pitches are mainly used by people passing through. The sanitary block has enough toilets and showers. The toilets were extremely smelly. Please note: there are no storage facilities in the showers! We hired a car for a day at reception. It cost 50 euros and we drove it to Siena. There is a bus to San Gimingiano and back. You can only get tickets for this in the Tabacco stores.Tradus automat.
- Gerald R.June 2014PlusuriVery good starting point for visiting San Gimignano.Very good starting point for visiting San Gimignano.Good CP, partly beautiful view of San Gimignano, partly on a steep slope and terraced, Womo/Wowa pitches gravelled and therefore unfavorable for ground tents. Tent pitches mostly not accessible by car. Good restaurant, pasta very good, pizza mediocre. Only very small market area in the restaurant, drinks... prices in the market the same as in the restaurant! Very good sanitary facilities! Semi-wild cute house rabbits running free on the pitch. Wifi did not work. Bus directly from the CP to the city center. Very good starting point for visiting San Gimignano.Tradus automat.
- Richard M.July 2012Ideally situated site for visiting Tuscany in the Florence-Siena-Volterra triangle. About half of the site is on a steep slope in terraces in the holm oak forest (nicely shaded). Pitches for tents on undulating forest floor (rather small) laid out in a nature-friendly manner. Cars can be parked separately;... in the parking lot area there are more shadeless WM pitches; a sanitary building at the top of the entrance area (a long steep climb is necessary from the lower area) is OK. Minimalist food offer at the bar/restaurant. Public swimming pool 200m away can be used free of charge.Tradus automat.
- Marcel K.October 2010Great location for exploring San Gimignano (on foot, parking spaces are very rare even in October). Beautiful pitches. New, clean sanitary facilities. Siesta at lunchtime. The adjacent restaurant was a bit noisy.Tradus automat.
- Gesine und Wolfgang A.October 2010The location is the best. San Gimignano can easily be reached on foot with a bit of willpower. Otherwise there is a bus from the site to the town. The pitches are big enough. The sanitary facilities are completely ok and clean. The operators are totally friendly and courteous. The restaurant and bar... are great places to sit in the evening. So...anytime again. And...important for us...dogs are welcome if you stick to the rules. But that goes without saying.Tradus automat.
- Marlene P.August 2010We are two families with two children each aged 5,6,7,9 and this year we combined our vacation with some sightseeing for the first time. We stayed at this campsite for two nights and three days and were delighted with the landscape. The swimming pool is not directly at the campsite but it is only a 5... minute walk away and it was enough for our children. We rode our bikes to San Gimignano in the evening and it was a great experience as the town is less crowded with tourists in the evening. You can also eat very well there. We also started our trip to Siena from there and took the train there from the next town. You can't compare this campsite with those on the northern Adriatic as the sanitary facilities are not of the same standard, but they were clean and that is the most important thing for us. The campsite was ideal for us to do the sightseeing we had planned. I picked up the bread rolls in the morning directly in San Gimignano (7.00 a.m.), went there by bike and it was a really great experience, no people on the street and the narrow streets all to myself. We will certainly visit this campsite again to explore the surrounding area - the priorities in this area are different from those of a campsite by the sea, so you should definitely take that into account.Tradus automat.
