- Simona H.July 2019PlusuriClean Friendly Partly very new, spacious sanitary buildings Separate children's sanitary room Close to large shopping centerMinusuriRestaurant No water scraper in sanitary room No toilet paper in children's sanitary room Not very lively place without walking possibilitiesRecommended for Italian/Dutch speakersWe (2 adults + 2 small children 1+4 years) had a great time at the end of July. Unfortunately the animation was only in Italian and Dutch. They did provide brief information in broken English when asked, but there was no consideration for the foreign-language children (not once did they show or explain anything more slowly). Restaurant was not recommended. Neither service nor food (oversalted). Pizza was ok.Tradus automat.
- Veronika K.April 2019Plusuri- Shopping facilities around the corner - clean apartments - very helpful staffMinusuri- Beach only approx. 50x20 m in size - no sea walks possible - blankets too thin - poor WLANHardly any access to the lake, perhaps only for families with small childrenWe (family with boys, 9 and 12 years old) were there at Easter 2019 and had bad weather. During this time no leisure activities on site, the lake beach is only about 50 m x 20 m and public - in summer it must be hell. So I can't put anything in the "ideal for..." category. The thing that upset us the... most was that you can't go for walks on the lake as everything is private and therefore closed off. What the tourist tax is for is a mystery to me. The blankets were far too thin, luckily we still had sleeping bags with us. The WLAN - although chargeable - was very poor and there were extra costs for bedding, utilities and final cleaning. I would have expected more from the lake for the really long journey.Tradus automat.
- Stephan R.April 2018Plusuri- Clean and well maintained - Nice and helpful staff - Dog friendlyMinusuri- High price level - Dormeletto is unkempt and neglectedSomewhat heavily reduced. We stayed at the campsite for 8 nights after Easter 2018. Two families with one caravan each. The staff are very friendly and courteous. The size of the pitches vary greatly and are rather tight. Caravans with awnings and cars are not possible everywhere. As we were there in the middle of the season,... most of the pitches were still empty. Accordingly, the sanitary facilities were only available to a limited extent. The fact that there were only two cubicles open in the men's toilets was rather stingy. The site is directly adjacent to a sunbathing lawn with a beach bar, as well as a meadow where dogs are allowed. Unfortunately, everything is a bit neglected and makes a dreary impression. This applies to the whole village of Dormeletto. Nothing beautiful and somehow everything is a bit desolate and littered. What a shame. It was a bit bitter at the end of the vacation: as we didn't want to leave at 10:00 am, we asked to be allowed to stay a little longer - we didn't want to leave until 1:00 pm. In return, they relieved us of €30 each. It's legitimate to ask for something for this - but it was rather steep. We have seen it!Tradus automat.
- Martin S.July 2017PlusuriCleanliness, beautiful pitches, friendly staff, nice beach for swimmingMinusurino path for walking or cyclingSpent 10 wonderful days!We stayed at the campsite for 10 days with 3 caravans and were greeted with a smile at the reception desk even when it was very busy. We had 3 large tree-covered pitches which provided sufficient shade and made our stay pleasant. The sanitary facilities were clean even when it was busy, the toilets and... shower cubicles are more than big enough and offer plenty of space. The beach on Lake Maggiore is divided into 3 parts. One for dog owners, a public beach and a private beach belonging to the campsite. There is usually something going on on the beach or you can sit down for a drink and enjoy the view. (Very crowded at weekends) There is a restaurant on the campsite where you can eat well, a small event hall, (during our stay there was a children's disco) pull for swimming. What we didn't like so much was that there is no opportunity to go for a walk as the campsite is situated between private property and a busy road. If we ever go on vacation to Lake Maggiore again, we will definitely stay at this campsite again!Tradus automat.
- Oliver L.June 2017PlusuriCleanliness of the campsite and sanitary facilities, campsite restaurant, pool area with slide, our Smile Wood tent, dog beachMinusuriMosquitoes (for which the campsite operator is ultimately not responsible)Very nice campsite for our Whitsun vacationWe (2 families with a total of 5 children aged 3 to 14 and a dog) stayed at this campsite from 10 - 17.06.17 in two adjoining "Smile Wood tents". All in all, we were very satisfied: Tents outstanding, complete campsite nicely shaded by tall trees, nice pool area with small slide and separate children's... pool, delicious pizzas and drinks at reasonable prices (pizza between 5 and 9 euros), very clean sanitary facilities, nice beach area with restaurants as well as great dog beach. Large supermarket "Konzuma" is within walking distance, so the very rudimentary campsite store selection is less important. Great excursions from the campsite to Stresa, Verbania, Lago d`Orta, Laveno (by car ferry from Verbania) and Milan are possible within a 45-minute drive. Conclusion: everything was fine for us - apart from the mosquitoes, which are ultimately nobody's fault. So: "Thumbs up"Tradus automat.
- Benjamin B.April 2017Large facility to modern standardsA large, typical vacation campsite with no flaws. Pitches, facilities, everything as expected. Sanitary clean and sufficiently dimensioned. Reception very friendly and professional. The only thing I find a little undersized compared to the size of the site is the beach area - it can be a bit cramped here. A small road has to be crossed to gain access, gate has to be opened with a code card.Tradus automat.
- Josef S.May 2016PlusuriLocation directly on the lake.MinusuriThere is no store on the campsite. The nearest bakery is approx. 600 m away.Beautiful location right on the lake!Friendly and competent reception. Pitch with full facilities (electricity, water, waste water). Wash houses modern and clean, sole hot water preparation but unfortunately via completely undersized solar power system. Access to the public beach area of the lake with code card. Extensive range of entertainment and games for children. Arona can be reached by bike in a few minutes.Tradus automat.
- Mike G.August 2015PlusuriWell-kept complex, good restaurant, plenty of play facilities for children, nice pool and own sandy beach with sunbathing area,Minusuribusy road and railroad line nearby, not good for cycling tours with small children, Dormelletto not a particularly beautiful placeCamping to feel goodWe (family with 2 children) felt very comfortable on this beautiful and well-kept campsite. The relatively new sanitary building is a great success and the pitches are large and mostly nice and shady because of the many trees. There was a program/animation on the site every day. The swimming opportunities... at the pool and beach were one of the most important things for our children! The children's disco in the evening was popular with the kids! A large supermarket is within walking distance.Tradus automat.
- Judith F.August 2014PlusuriCentral location for sightseeing/excursions on Lake Maggiore; small private beach, quiet and clean campsiteMinusuriThere is no market on the square; only the bar sells the bare essentials; a bakery is within easy reach outside the squareBeautifully maintained placeWe had a mobile home directly from the campsite; it was very spacious with plenty of room (inside and outside) and, above all, distance from the neighbors. Very friendly staff! Everything was always very clean on the campsite; the beach is not that big, but we didn't expect more on Lake Maggiore; but there were pedal boats/canoes right on the campsite;Tradus automat.
