- Vinzenz T.August 2020PlusuriIt is not too far from the Bologna-Firenze highway and is easily accessible if the actual route through the Val di Setta is not closed. Swimming pool and restaurant are available.MinusuriSomewhat outdated sanitary facilities.Conveniently located stop-off point for the journey inland.Coming from the north and using the Rioveggio exit, we unfortunately had to realize that the road through the Val di Setta was completely closed and we had to take a very difficult detour of about 20 km via the SP 38 and the "San Rocco" - so the further access was indicated to us by the navigation system....
This was not particularly good for the brakes on the caravan. It was an extremely steep route with very tight bends, both uphill and downhill. Absolutely not recommended: there was no way of releasing the brakes on the caravan by briefly accelerating on the extreme gradient of up to 20% and the hairpin bends. And so, after reaching the SP 325 (Via val die Setta), the brakes were smoking and stinking. If we had known this beforehand, we would have approached the campsite on the country road coming from the north. On our return journey, the actual route was open again.
Apart from that, we can only agree with the reports of the other reviewers. The site with some permanent campers is well-kept, the sanitary facilities are outdated but clean, but you need tokens for the hot showers, but the normal shower also had hot water because of the solar panels. There is also a swimming pool with kiosk and restaurant.
Still recommended for a short stay and as a stopover. The nearby highway can be heard but the noise level is kept within limits.Tradus automat. - Andreas W.Iulie 2019PlusuriGood place for a stopover. Good restaurant. Very friendly.MinusuriCoin-operated showers. Hardly any leisure facilities.Stopover on the way home from SardiniaWhen we arrived in Livorno in the afternoon with the Mega Expess 3, we needed a stopover somewhere stress-free between Livorno and Spital an der Drau. The "Riva del Setta" just before Bologna came in very handy. The presence of a pool was very convenient and the site seemed very pleasant. When we arrived,... we received a very friendly welcome and were immediately asked if we only wanted to stay one night. They are obviously used to this there. Unfortunately, the pool was already closed and only opened again when we left. However, the campsite restaurant was open and we had a delicious dinner there. The sanitary facilities were okay but not too special. Old but clean. Unfortunately coin-operated showers! The pitch on the meadow with trees was quite nice. The pitch was perfect for an overnight stay. However, I can hardly imagine what you could do in this area for several days. Maybe relax and read a book? That's probably all you can do there.Tradus automat.
- Heike F.Aprilie 2019PlusuriClose to the highwayNice place to spend the nightWe spent the night here on the way to Rome. As the road from the north was closed, we had to take the exit to the south. It's not absolutely necessary to take the longer approach from the north, as there are two hairpin bends on this route - one into the campsite and one to the toll booth, but that was... no problem with a 13m trailer. You can tell that the campsite has seen better days, but the reception is very friendly and the restaurant is really good - that's all we expect from a campsite. The site was almost empty except for permanent campers and we were able to choose a pitch. You are surrounded by greenery and the highway noise doesn't disturb you. We paid €28 for two adults and two children with electricity. We looked at the showers but didn't use them, you need coins for them. If you take the exit to the north, you can drive south on the Direttissima, if you take the direct exit back, you have to take the Panoramica, which is a bit more challenging, but not as busy.Tradus automat.
- Oliver H.August 2017PlusuriReasonably priced overnight stay. Good restaurant.MinusuriFew showers and toilets. Very basic standardSuitable as an overnight stopoverWe visited the site with the caravan for an overnight stopover on our trip to Rome. Checking in was easy, you could choose the pitch you wanted and park your car on the grassy pitches. There are only a few very basic showers and toilets. Some of the showers only have cold water or water heated by the sun. To avoid queuing for the showers, we used our small on-board shower in the caravan. There is a good restaurant attached to the campsite.Tradus automat.
- Gregor C.Mai 2016PlusuriQuiet, close to the highway, very convenientMinusuriold sanitary facilities, steep access roadUnfortunately only spent one night hereOn our way south (towards Grosseto) we were looking for a campsite near Bologna for one night. We chose this campsite, which is quite close to the highway. The access: Exit Sasso Marconi, then follow the country road (direction Vioveggio). From the other side (one exit later: Rioveggio) it is closer,... but the almost 180° bend is not recommended with a camper van. There are occasional CP signs and the road is winding in places. The access road to the campsite is steep and there are no alternative routes. Reception: very friendly, very quick check-in. Unfortunately, they only speak Italian here. There is a pizzeria right next door (didn't try it myself) and a MiniMarket. A Coop is very close in the direction of Vioveggio (also a steep driveway up to the left!). The campsite is mostly flat and level (meadow), partly shady. There are many permanent campers. Sufficient electricity and water available. Showers are available with chips (60 Ct.), toilets and showers clean, but very old. The wash-up points are also very old. The campsite itself is beautifully situated by the river (in the countryside), but you can hear the highway and the train. Price per night for 3 persons: 23 EUR for in between very recommendable. We could certainly stay here for a few more days. Pool available, unfortunately not yet open, otherwise a volleyball beach and large lawn available. There are also wooden bungalows for rent.Tradus automat.
- Emilio D.August 2012Settler camp good for travel stop, nice pool, body bathrooms spartanTradus automat.
- Robert F.August 2011Good place for a stopover heading south near the highway exit. Restaurant available, was unfortunately closed (Monday), micromarket (pre-order bread the day before), hot showers for a fee, long distances to the power distributor, some noise from the highway and train, clean, shady but in my opinion only suitable as a stopover, but absolutely ok for that if you shop beforehand.Tradus automat.
- Franz-Josef E.August 2010This is our second stopover on the way to the far south (GE-FB-Vioreggio-Naples). Not too far from the freeway, still passable access (turn sharp right back uphill onto the country road!), simple but clean sanitary facilities and in the ACSI program. Good restaurant with very good pizza.Tradus automat.
