After the owner himself did not manage to guide me anywhere near my pitch I asked him to take the wheel himself! His answer was that he didn't need to... and that he didn't have the time - his campsite was always fully booked and he didn't really need me as a customer! Mainly Italian families. Animation and adventure pool with extra entrance fee. Therefore rather loud, but not disturbing. A quiet pitch was rented to us. Still low season at the end of June. We have never had such a luxury pitch... at such a low price. Sanitary facilities very clean, modern and practically furnished. Public beach within walking distance. Beautifully laid out campsite with friendly and helpful staff, pitches are located around the pool area. Plots sufficiently large and shady. Sanitary facilities very well maintained and clean at all times. There is plenty of entertainment and sports facilities.... Animation is too loud for my taste. When you eat in the restaurant you can no longer understand your own words. However, the tenant promised to reduce the volume. The restaurant and bar are recommended. The grocery store is small, but offers everything you need except meat at very high prices.the beach can be reached via a side entrance in 100 to 300 m depending on the location of the pitch.the town of Marina di Campo can be reached on foot in 20 min. All in all a recommendable campsite for a nice vacation. We liked the direct location to the beach, the town center within walking or cycling distance and the well-kept site. Ideal in the low season as it wasn't overcrowded. Great pool area including wellness area (sauna, steam bath, whirlpool). The staff are... nice and very helpful. There was immediate help with starting the camper van and a fault in the private sanitary facilities was also rectified immediately. The cleanliness is impressive: the sanitary area was basically cleaned all the time. The site was also thoroughly cleaned every day. Great value for money. 18 € for 2 people, motorhome, electricity on a large pitch. We were able to use all the facilities (wellness, swimming pool) free of charge. Super nice, helpful staff. Great CP for children!!! This makes it louder near the swimming pool and playgrounds.... If you want peace and quiet, you should pitch your tent at the end of the campsite. The campsite is located on a beautiful bay. Many other bays and sights are within easy reach by car. Bus connections limited in the fall!Tradus automat.
- Andrea H.July 2013Nice place with a great pool area. You have to pay extra for this, but we think it's ok. The sanitary facilities are rather old but ok. Someone was always cleaning. Unfortunately, it still stank of urine all the time. The staff were very friendly. The mini disco was great. They offered an extensive show... for the children. However, we didn't find the entertainers at the mini club particularly motivated. The animation from the surrounding facilities late into the night is very loud and we found it annoying. There was also too much commotion for us in midsummer. The young people rode their bikes through the streets at high speed. Cars were also constantly driving at high speed on the streets, which was dangerous for small children. It was very loud in the square until at least midnight due to all the people.Tradus automat.
Paolo F.June 2013Good location close to the sea (although not exactly on the sea), nice beach (not the most beautiful on the island but still nice), the nice center of Marina di Campo can be reached quickly by bike (short bike path) or even on foot, nice surroundings full of paths in the Mediterranean maquis. The overall... level of the campground, while not reaching the heights of the benchmark campgrounds, is very good and without any particular weaknesses: the only note is that the chemical toilet drain is in a small room that is too narrow and low. Much appreciated that cars stay outside (in an enclosed parking lot). The excellent tree line provides good shelter from the sun. On the subject of quiet, only the pitches near the road might have something to complain about. Pool nice. Very good games department for children, really good animation: various tournaments, games of all kinds, evening shows... our children were also provided with materials for games and plenty of water during soccer games! Elba is very beautiful and everyone will already know this, but my advice to you is to bring a mountain bike and go exploring: you will not regret it! In June, the restaurant at the campground was really excellent, among the best we have ever tried. Super even the pizzas. I don't know if they will be able to maintain this level even in peak season. High prices, but still fair: overall, this is perhaps the best seaside campground I have tried.Tradus automat.- Markus M.May 2012Very nice campsite, I only have two things to complain about: 1. the annoying animation that goes on every evening until 10:45 pm, therefore only 3 stars for quiet. Otherwise very quiet. 2. We had a reservation and were charged €20 for it. I think that's cheeky, considering that the campsite was only... half full and that the campsite also benefits from the reservation through planning security. That's why we won't be booking again and will save ourselves the money. Otherwise everything was fine, very nice contact in advance and also during our stay.Tradus automat.
- tina f.September 2011The location of the campsite is advantageous as it is very close to the sea and the town of Campo Marina can be reached on foot in 20 minutes and by bike in 5 minutes. At first we were a little shocked by the many airplanes that fly in and out right above the campsite, but it was only bad on Sundays,... on weekdays it was fine and at night it was quiet. There is no car noise. We found the atmosphere at the site a bit ambivalent, maybe it was the time of year (we were there in September). The staff were ok, but not very motivated, the pizza was ok, but not overly good, the store was quite nice, but also quite expensive, the mobile home was quite clean, but getting on in years and the mattresses were smelly. At the end there was a routine thank-you goodbye, nothing more and nothing less. Conclusion: The campsite is ok, but more could be made of it, much more!Tradus automat.
- Melanie A.September 2011Very nice and well-kept campsite in an ideal location. The beach can be reached on foot in 5 minutes and is also ideal for smaller children. Playground/children's club very well equipped and in good condition. The team always comes up with something new. Children's disco in the evening, which is very... popular. Bar/restaurant/cafe not necessarily particularly nice but functional. If you're thinking about packing your bikes: definitely! You can be in the pretty town with its nice restaurants/bars in 5 minutes by bike. It doesn't take long to get there on foot either. The sanitary facilities are very clean and there are plenty of them. The whole site is very well maintained and has the ideal starting point for all kinds of excursions. The pitches are very large by Italian standards and are separated by small bushes. We had a tent from Eurocamp, which was an inexpensive alternative for us with 3 kids. There is a charge for the pool - we never used it, children up to 8 years are free. The small store is relatively well stocked and the staff are very friendly. However, you should buy vegetables elsewhere, it's not such a hit. The car has to be parked outside, so of course it is very quiet and safe for children inside the campsite. The place is in contrast to some others on Elba FLAT and not laid out in stairs, which makes it easier for parents with small children with buggy + balance bike. All in all, a very nice place where the nightingales sing at night at Pentecost time, the crickets chirp and you can spend a really nice vacation. After spending the first 2 weeks of September there this year, we still liked the place, BUT: the peace and quiet was nothing. On the hillside opposite is a larger hotel which unfortunately has entertainment in the evenings. And this makes a lot of noise towards the campsite, so unfortunately it was no longer quiet, which was a great pity. It's not as loud as in some other parts of Italy, but peace and quiet is something else, especially as this hotel has an open-air disco for older guests and one for younger guests who drown each other out. Second mini drawback: The campsite is located in the flight path of Elba's miniature airport. Around 10 planes fly over the site during the day (at least that was the case at Whitsun 2010 and in summer 2011). However, as these are small rather than large aircraft, the nuisance was kept to a minimum.Tradus automat.
Michael S.August 2011Familiar and well-kept campsiteThe campsite is located at the eastern end of the bay of Marina di Campo. It is sheltered in a pine forest. (Almost) all (!!) pitches offer sufficient shade from the sometimes very intense sun. The pitch itself is very small and sometimes very narrow. Caravans and motorhomes need a good navigator to... master every spot. Due to its small size, the campsite has a very informal feel. The site is mainly frequented by Italians (!!!), Germans and Dutch people. The sanitary facilities were always very clean and well maintained, but the showers were always full at prime time, so you had to plan for a wait. The swimming pool area is also very well maintained. The friendly lifeguards (more of a bathing cap master) are very determined in monitoring compliance with the bathing times (!!) and the wearing of bathing caps. Other rules (there are some on the notice board) do not have to be observed, nobody was interested. During the opening hours of the pool, you had to queue early if you wanted to get a lounger. Unfortunately there was a charge for the pool. No need to mention the bar, nothing great, but a meeting place for vacationers and nice service. The on-site supermarket has everything you need for your daily needs. We did our shopping (drinks by the hectoliter) in the large supermarkets in Portoferraio. The island's own airport is located close to the campsite (approx. 250 m). The flight path of the propeller-driven planes is also almost above the campsite. However, only one or two planes arrived each day, so this was not a problem. However, in the evening until around 11.00 p.m. you could hear loud animation from the surrounding hotels and clubs. Sleep was out of the question until then. Everything is very cramped on Elba. But you are compensated for this with wonderful landscapes and beautiful places. You can and should use the evenings for something other than going to bed. The team on the campsite is definitely worth mentioning, both the entertainment team and all the staff. In a word: positively crazy. We have rarely met such committed and friendly staff from all areas. Our children in particular immediately felt at ease and in good hands. What more could you want?
