"Camping and the story with Mrs. O... . - The campsite has a wonderful location right on the Rhine. That was the positive thing. Then the next thing you know is the groundskeeper O... . Who would hire such an out-of-time "lady" to look after a campsite? Unfriendliness seems to be her middle name. The term "guest" seems to be a completely unknown foreign word for this "lady". I pay a relatively high price for the quality of the campsite and expect to be treated accordingly. However, I have remained emphatically objective in this presentation.

"Beautiful location on the banks of the Rhine, but the groundskeeper hasn't heard the bang yet! - The location is ideal, but the place is pretty run-down. The groundskeeper is no good at all! You really should turn around and leave immediately. Too bad about the beautiful location, you could make something out of it

"For overnight stays with caravan & motorhome - The prices for an overnight stay cannot be justified due to the sanitary facilities, electricity connections etc.

"Very unfriendly groundskeeper - The site is beautifully situated and the beer garden is also highly recommended. However, due to the risk of flooding, the sanitary facilities are very provisional (containers). The groundskeeper was extremely unfriendly, assertive and apparently allocates the beautiful pitches according to sympathy. Reservations in the front row by the water are not possible. We won't be coming here again.

"Enough for a few days, but no more than that - We stayed at the campsite in May 2018. Checkin went quickly and we were able to get one of the pitches right on the shore. It's nice that these pitches are not all allocated to permanent campers. There you stand on large concrete slabs, so you hardly had any trouble positioning the caravan straight and level. Satellite reception was also no problem, but you need a long cable reel for electricity. We got water from the sanitary facilities, which only consisted of a mobile container. Due to the risk of flooding, the site is not allowed to build permanent sanitary blocks. The sanitary containers worked and were clean during our stay, but we didn't feel comfortable in them. And as the campsite was already full, there were often queues for both the toilet and shower containers because there were only 3 showers per gender and a similar number of toilets. The toilets were particularly full during social gatherings in the square's beer garden, as the (out-of-town?) guests also used the containers. The sanitary containers were relatively far from the start, so anyone standing far back on the site had a long way to go. The view from the pitches directly on the banks of the Rhine is fantastic. During our stay, however, the ships heading towards the North Sea came within an estimated 5 meters of our shore. What can be fun during the day, when you can chat for a few seconds with the guests of the passing river cruise ship, is annoying at night when the cargo ships slowly pass close to the caravan. Unfortunately, a good night's sleep is not possible. The railroad on the other bank didn't really bother us. You can quickly reach all destinations in the area from the campsite. Shopping facilities are not far away. There is a bread roll service. There is a small beer garden at the entrance to the campsite, but we didn't use it as it was usually packed shortly after opening. It seemed a bit as if the permanent campers there wanted a "closed society" among their own kind. But that's not a problem, as there's another beer garden about 100m further on with a terrace view of the Rhine. The last small point of criticism is the approach to the site, or rather the last 200-300 meters when you turn off the main road to the site. The road is quite narrow for caravans and motorhomes. They do fit through, but if another car comes towards you, you have to maneuver properly. This is not the site operator's fault, but guests should be aware of this anyway.

"Simple place in a fantastic location directly on the Rhine - We spent a weekend at this site at the end of May and got a pitch right on the Rhine at short notice. We had a front row seat right on the Rhine and could almost touch the ships. It was fun to watch the busy shipping traffic. The trains on the other side of the Rhine also gave the impression of model railroads. The groundskeeper makes sure that everyone stands at the same distance from the Rhine so that everyone can see. The view went as far as the Drachenfels and is really fantastic. We cycled on the Rhine side as far as Linz and were thrilled. There are plenty of places to take a break. The sanitary facilities in the mobile wagons were simple but tidy. You should have a long cable drum with you to get electricity. You can also hear the ships/trains at night, but we didn't mind. We will definitely be back. You can also see the Rhine from the second row. We didn't go to the beer garden.
