However, the sanitary facilities for the tent meadow are inadequate. Soap and toilet paper are already empty in the evening. The pitches are very narrow, right next to each other without hedges. There is no WIFI, showers and garbage cost extra. There is no waste... separation at all. There are 2 huge garbage containers, but not even a garbage can at the sink. Not a trace of friendliness. Conclusion: Price and performance do not match at all. During the day, the street is also unfortunately quite noisy.Tradus automat.

We chose a pitch right by the pond in front of the rocky backdrop. The electricity box was a bit further away, about 60 m, but no problem for us. According to the operator, another power box will be installed here next year, so that you can get by with a normal... length of cable. The site is located on a road but at night it is hardly frequented and during the day little. There is a bread roll service and a restaurant. We found the prices okay. The existing website unfortunately does not reflect the charm of the place. We felt comfortable. The original 3 planned nights became 7.Tradus automat.

The lack of WLAN is not an issue for us, we are on vacation and the cell phone is off! The cost of the stay is quite reasonable. The very clean sanitary... facilities make the stay very pleasant. Unfortunately, there are many contemporaries who can't behave here, leave everything dirty, leave food leftovers in the sinks in the scullery, and so on.Tradus automat.

The sanitary facilities were clean, but were cleaned at the worst possible time between 9 and 10 am.
All rubbish (and by that we really mean everything including used glass) goes into a container.

Top location for exploring and excursions in the region!We (2 adults, 2 children, 1 dog) stayed at the campsite for a weekend, mainly to explore the area around Pottenstein/Gössweinstein. Particularly noteworthy is the super natural location in the middle of Franconian Switzerland directly on a river. The staff were super nice and accommodating. The sanitary... facilities were in a clean condition! The restaurant was good, but you can eat better for less money in one of the numerous inns in the surrounding area! However, the lack of WLAN is a definite minus in this day and age! We will definitely come back, either for a weekend or for a longer stay!Tradus automat.

Nothing to complain about!We arrived in the Whitsun vacations with our VW bus without advance notice, were warmly welcomed and were assigned a very nice pitch on the tent meadow, right on the river. The location was great! Electricity was available, sanitary facilities were good and clean. You can pre-order bread rolls, eat quite... well in the restaurant, get the essentials in the kiosk,... So that's all we need and we can't understand some of the negative comments. The surrounding area is perfect for hiking or climbing! If we ever go on vacation in the area again, we will certainly stay here again!Tradus automat.

The CP restaurant has become very expensive compared to 2021.Camping restaurant has become very expensive, no WLAN, hardly any other InternetThe prices in the restaurant have become €3-4 more expensive per dish compared to 2021. In addition, the side salad and vegetables are only available with an additional order and a surcharge of €2.50 to €3.00. A change of order, e.g. chips instead of fried potatoes, costs a further €1. In total, a family... staying for several days can now afford to eat out a maximum of once - this used to be cheaper. The quality of the food is good, if only it weren't for the aforementioned price hikes. In restaurants in Pottenstein, the costs are sometimes lower.
The campsite and sanitary facilities are clean. Small nice playground available. The internet point mentioned in the basic ratings is not available.
As the site is unfortunately permitted for dogs, every third camper has at least one dog with them. Consequence: every bush and tree along the path is "peed on" (marked), so children should be kept away. The barking of the dogs, especially as the owners have a kennel with at least 10 dogs, is sometimes unbearable.
Provided that you like the "internet stone age", barbecue/cook yourself and are particularly dog-friendly, you can come again.Tradus automat. - Annett H.September 2021PlusuriCamping restaurantMinusuriInternet receptionBest kitchenWell-kept pitch with a great restaurant. Kai S.August 2020PlusuriThe location is natural, child-friendlyMinusuriThe road leads through the beer garden to the rear camping area.Beautiful place with rough customsWe arrived there spontaneously and booked for 2 nights and didn't get a bad place straight away. The food tasted average and the prices were okay. The atmosphere is a bit harsh when the shower people "march through" between the dining tables wearing MNS masks.
A lot has already been written here on the... subject of a good night's sleep, but unfortunately this cannot always be demanded because the staff themselves do not pay attention to it. This brings us to our second point of criticism: if 3 people (staff) smoke in front of the sanitary facilities, then the sanitary facilities are no longer suitable for families or for people with pre-existing conditions. You'll get a good laugh if your mask doesn't fit 100%, but smoking in bets (clearly beneficial for corona infections) in areas where children and non-smokers have to pass through, "It's not forbidden yet", according to the boss, is an absolute no-go. If the hosts only want motorcycle groups on the campsite, OK! Otherwise the customs are a bit medieval and rough.

It was incredibly full (especially for Corona times) and as the sanitary facilities were cleaned between 8am and 9am and therefore closed, you had the choice of joining a very long queue at the second sanitary block or waiting until after 9am. No... attention was paid to quiet times during our stay. At the lake and adjoining woods, large groups of people listened to loud music and partied until the early hours.
The staff were stressed and unfriendly when we left. Checking out was only possible from 9am. Should therefore be postponed to the day before if you want to leave early.

- Dennis B.October 2019PlusuriRestaurantMinusuriBoss!Quite nice but "friendly" boss takes the cake.Unfortunately, the stay was more than spoiled by the behavior of the boss. Had booked three barrels with a group which were also confirmed to us (had a written confirmation for a barrel by email). On site, the lady then realized that there were only two barrels. In an impossible tone, the lady said -... "Yes, but we only have two barrels" and did not respond to my written confirmation at first. Only when she found the email in her system did the tone become a little friendlier and we were offered a log cabin. She could have spared herself the addition "We don't normally rent out log cabins for one day". Normally you don't overbook two (!) barrels and lose track of things (maybe leave out the slips of paper). The next day, when it was time to pay, came the big surprise: "As an exception, I'll only charge you 45€ for the barrel - the log cabin costs 75€" (HAHA! How gracious that I don't have to pay 30€ more for her mistake) "But there's also a flat rate of 10€ for cleaning. When I asked why this flat rate was not mentioned at check-in, all I got was a stammering "yes, I didn't think of that and here and there" - the end of the story was that she slammed €10 on the table like a fury and said you can actually expel us from the place right now, but she's not a monster. The bottom line is that I had to pay €50 for the keg I booked for €45 and it left a bad taste in my mouth. After more than 10 years in the hotel industry, I know how to behave towards guests. The lady obviously doesn't. Maybe I'll send her a voucher for a seminar on "How not to take my own mistakes out on the customer and stay friendly" for Christmas. Never again! Too bad, because the food in the restaurant was great and the service was just nice, friendly and on the ball. Maybe the Bärenschlucht will see me again when someone else is at reception.Tradus automat.

Pitches partly very small, clean sanitary facilities, but quite long distances. We didn't notice that there was no WLAN and poor cell phone reception, fortunately we don't need it on vacation! Now there was merciless overcrowding on the tent meadow, loud partying groups, an overloaded toilet building and the attempt to bring some order to the chaos with red... and white barrier tape. A festival atmosphere prevailed. The fantastic location in the middle of the climbing rocks could no longer be enjoyed in the tent and pavilion environment. Urgent advice: reserve a spot facing the Püttlach or better outside the vacation season. Spontaneous camping is no longer a pleasure, perhaps because of the great mentions in the camping guides and the resulting overcrowding.Tradus automat.
