- Udo K.September 2023PlusuriPrice/performance, tranquillity, location, friendlinessMinusurithere wasn't muchBest choice for a visit to AsissiThe campsite is located above Assisi, on the road to Mt. Subasio and nestled quietly in the forest. Well located for visiting the town of Assisi, both on foot and by bike. We had free choice of pitches on the terraced site in September, the pitches are spacious and some are not really parceled out. Electricity... on site. Showers and toilets were a bit outdated, but perfectly adequate. The reception was friendly. The restaurant was very busy on the weekend, we can't say anything about the quality as we didn't visit.
Walking distance: The town is downhill, either via a footpath or along the road. Back a bit tedious (it was very warm)Tradus automat. - Sonja R.September 2019PlusuriClose to Assisi, 10 min. walk. Restaurant on site, clean sanitary facilities.Minusuri-Top tip for visitors to AssisiActually 10 min walk to the center. Staff very nice, restaurant and bar open. Staff very nice. Once you have understood the procedure in the self-service restaurant, it is absolutely recommendable. Home cooking at top prices. Very good wine! Pitches sometimes steep, some in the shade, some with great views. Sanitary was always clean.Tradus automat.
- Raimund H.April 2019PlusuriLocation to Assisi with footpath to it Directly on the pilgrimage routeMinusuriSanitary facilities were poor No WLAN on the pitchSuper for AssisiVisited the site at the beginning of April. The sanitary facilities were closed and we had to share 2 bathrooms from apartment no.8. No toilet paper no soap and a worse cellar hole. As the normal sanitary facilities were not open we cannot judge them. It's not a long walk to Assisi, but you can hike there for a few hours. Direct footpath from the campsite. Staff spoke good English and were very friendly. WLAN only at the reception.Tradus automat.
- I. M.September 2018PlusuriLocation Supply LandscapeMinusuriif you are unlucky - youth groupsDownhill, uphill and close to Assisi1 couple, a large tent and a desire for Assisi. You have to walk a bit to the town and back uphill, but that doesn't hurt. The site is in a wonderful location and is perfect for exploring Assisi. We just didn't manage the distance in 10 minutes. We stayed here for 5 nights and it was worth it. The sanitary... facilities are clean and absolutely adequate. In the low season you have many opportunities to find a nice spot. However, the site is not quite as quiet as mentioned, I imagine sleeping in the forest to be quieter. You can hear the heavily populated valley (trucks, buses, motorcycles, usws), especially in the tent. Then the braying of the donkeys, the barking of dogs and a cockerel that never knows what time it is and starts running just in case. But everything is still within reason, it's quiet for Italy. The reception was very friendly and ready to provide information. You can also get on well here with English. There is a restaurant, a bar and a mini market. I would choose this place again for Assisi in a heartbeat. There was only one night when we had a whole school group with 6 tents on the site, so sleep was a bit of a problem, but fortunately they moved on the next day. It was still nice here.Tradus automat.
- Erwin G.June 2017PlusuriProximity to Assisi Peace and quietVery quietVery good starting point for Assisi on foot 10 minutes. Wonderful quiet very nice bird concert in the morning.Tradus automat.
- tim w.September 2014PlusuriProximity to the city peace and quiet nice place good restaurantQuiet and beautifulThe CP is located slightly above Assisi, which can be easily reached via a footpath. On the other side, the road goes up to Mt Subasio, which is ideal for cycling tours. The area is terraced and mainly covered with deciduous trees and shrubs, with some of the trees offering a beautiful view down into... the valley. The campsite is very quiet. The staff are exceptionally friendly. The restaurant is very popular with the locals; even before opening time there was a large crowd waiting to get in despite the low season, the quality of the food is rustic but very good.Tradus automat.
- Matthias H.September 2014PlusuriPerfect location and starting point for hikes and visits to Assisi Clean but simple sanitary facilities Good restaurant Price/performanceOKMinusuriSteep approach Poorly signposted too little time to stay thereAssisi you can touchDate of stay September 2014: This place is perfect. Be it for relaxing or hiking or for a visit to Assisi. The pitches are overgrown and therefore pleasantly shady. You feel as if you are standing in the middle of the forest. Wonderfully quiet with some great views of the valley and Peruggia. The site... is very clean and the staff are very friendly and courteous. The restaurant on site offers delicacies grilled over an open fire. Unfortunately, this makes the restaurant very warm and smoky, but this creates a very special atmosphere. The walls are covered in black encrustation and you feel like you've been transported back to the Middle Ages. Anyone who knows and loves Assisi will feel right at home here. Assisi can be easily reached on foot via a beautiful path off the road in 20 minutes (at a good pace), the approach to the site is not easy to find in the evening in the dark. Many roads are closed to WOMOS and caravans and so we wandered around with our 7 meter long WOMO until we finally found the right way. Assisi is very narrow and steep and therefore the approach was quite adventurous (turning in Assisi is an art in itself). Conclusion: If you want to travel to Assisi, there is no better place to set up your domicile. Unfortunately you have to leave again at some point! The sanitary facilities are a bit dated but clean. The shower cubicles are a bit cramped.Tradus automat.
- Peter E.May 2013The campsite is in a very beautiful and quiet location above Assisi. You can walk to the town on a dirt track in a good 10 minutes. You can also start hiking straight away, e.g. up Monte Subasio. I'm writing this review mainly because I completely disagree with the review of the attached restaurant that... you can read here. This is a real gem. At very reasonable prices (pasta dishes for €5-6), you can enjoy delicious food in a lovely atmosphere. The open wood fire on which the food is prepared is particularly nice. The staff have to work quickly because 'La Stalla' is very popular and the crowds are correspondingly large. I can understand all too well why the staff like to have a quiet drink together before 7.30pm.Tradus automat.
- Fred F.October 2012We were here in the fall of 2012, having chosen the campsite because of its convenient location for visiting Assisi and the Eremo. The sanitary facilities are simple but clean, at least during our visit and sparse occupancy. The only downside was the restaurant attached to the campsite. Admission at... 19:30 sharp, not a minute earlier, despite a large crowd, and the food order was processed as if we were on the run! Unfriendly staff and a price-performance ratio that in no way justifies what's on the table! Critical restaurant customers would be better off eating in Assisi, where there are top restaurants at reasonable prices.Tradus automat.
- Peter B.September 2012Wonderfully situated campsite. Very nice view over the plain.Tradus automat.
- ute l.July 2012many pitches have a great view over the valley, wind in the evening, so bearable even in the hot Italian summer, lots of shade under trees, outside the campsite approx. 2km downhill a simple outdoor pool, great path to Assisi (approx. 2km through olive trees), good starting point for mountain hikes, donkey rides for childrenTradus automat.
- Werner S.May 2011beautifully situated, quiet and spacious CP approx. 20 minutes' walk from the old town of Assisi; pitches relatively level, although the campsite is on a slope; pitches both with and without shade; the owner's son in particular is very friendly and helpful; speaks perfect German (mother is German); A... request made late in the morning for a broken shower door was repaired in the afternoon; rustic restaurant with cellar vault with open wood grill and very well-stocked store including bar is also on site; sanitary building is sufficiently clean; in the low season we paid 17.50 euros per night for 2 people in full.Tradus automat.
