S.Jun 2024PlusuriIncredibly nice operators, uncomplicated handling, great location near the city and on the Main, very good value for money, swimming pool, wifi and showers/toilets included, location on the Main ideal for cyclistsMinusuriNo partitioning or parcelling, you're standing next to your neighbor and under observation, showers without changing rooms, the chairs for personal use and changing are still in front of the three showers, limited WiFi with a small download, electricity flat rate of four euros per dayCamping between the old town and the MainIf you want it quiet and secluded, this is not the place for you. Everything is quite cramped and there is no separation between the pitches. Some people just sit in front of the motorhomes and look at others and their activities......
Otherwise good. Very nice operator couple, small price included,... shower, toilet, small wifi, swimming pool free to use. I find the daily electricity charge of four euros quite high. Bread roll service is also available.
As there is a risk of flooding, there are only shower containers here, which are clean but offer no privacy - changing in front of the showers on three chairs.

Cycle path for pleasant cycling towards Gemünden or Würzburg (train can be used for the return journey, so you don't have to cycle there and back) leads past the site. Shopping facilities nearby. Beautiful castle complex on the opposite... side of the river, where there are also beautiful family-friendly hiking trails. There is also a movie theater near the campsite. You can watch Bundesliga soccer on Saturdays in the nearby FV Karlstadt clubhouse. The outdoor pool is right next to the campsite and can be used free of charge. For the dog there are beautiful paths and free running areas on the Main. Sanitary facilities were clean and well-maintained, perhaps a little tight in summer when the site is full. The groundsman was very helpful and friendly. The only thing that was a bit annoying was the nearby bridge with its relatively heavy traffic, which you get used to. Day trips by train to Würzburg and also Gemünden or Lohr are possible, so that you can do without the car.Tradus automat.

The groundskeeper is absolutely brilliant he takes perfect care of all guests and makes impossible things possible really top. The place is located directly on the Main and at the outdoor pool (free entry for... camping guests) in a few minutes walk you are in the old town. The only thing to criticize are the wash house and toilet containers but always clean. Pitches of different sizes, but sometimes very narrow. Four as-new, well-kept sanitary containers for showers and toilets, mobile as flood area. Visibility protection... in all containers inadequate, in toilet containers plastic strip curtain should prevent views, impossible. Three shower cubicles with folding doors as splash protection, clothes rack is a chair in front of the washbasin. Price justified as it includes WLAN, electricity flat rate and entry to the heated (28°C) outdoor pool next door. After several visits, we haven't noticed any noise at night or in the evening!Excellent groundskeeper, beautiful place, great location, !!!!!!!!The groundskeeper has been looking for his equal since time immemorial, will probably never be found!!!!! Short distances to the city with culture, sights, restaurants, ice cream parlors, etc.! Town center worth seeing. Outdoor pool. Sanitary facilities are simple but well maintained and clean! First of all, the operator is super nice and helpful. The location of the CP is great. We got a pitch right on the Main. The castle above us and the old town on the other side within a 5-minute walk - what more could you want? The... new wash house containers are not exactly 5 star, but they were always spotlessly clean and nice and warm. We didn't want for anything. We will definitely be back.Tradus automat.

Reservation and welcome by the groundsman was very nice and courteous. The tourist site is very tidy, despite the remaining permanent campers (the others are in an area... separated by a high wall on the other side of the road). Our pitch was right on the banks of the Main, but separated from it by a wire mesh fence. Reception and sanitary facilities were completely rebuilt with the building of the neighboring swimming pool, so we had to make do with an interim solution of containers - but it was no problem, they were new and kept very clean. The only negative point was the shower, where only the shower basin was separated by a curtain, so there was no privacy when changing and drying offTradus automat.- Manuel S.Avgust 2016PlusuriWorld's best groundsman!!! Super swimming pool, town within walking distance, cycling opportunitiesThe very best groundsman there is!!!There is no other groundsman as competent, very friendly, helpful and simply perfect!!! He is calm and has the right solution for every problem. This was our third time in Karlstadt and we will come here many more times - provided the groundsman stays the same. The site is very cramped and sometimes... noisy. But what the heck, the new swimming pool is beautiful, there is a playground for the little ones and the town can be reached quickly via the riverside promenade. Delicious sandwiches and food are available at the kiosk. A lovely area for cycling along the Main. And really reasonably priced. New sanitary building planned for early 2017.Tradus automat.

The sanitary facilities are old, but very well maintained and cleaned. The groundsman is super cooperative and nice. However, if you are unlucky and there are a lot of permanent campers... and their friends there, it is very noisy in the evening / at night. This has happened to us several times now and is tolerated by the management. If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is not the place for you.Tradus automat.

In addition, more than half of the pitch was occupied by Danish travelers who talked loudly in Danish until late in the evening and from early in the morning and fired up the barbecue at 8 o'clock in the... morning. The groundsman, on the other hand, is the friendliest I've ever met, he doesn't find anything a problem, keeps his cool and is completely relaxed. The proximity to the swimming pool is great in good weather (free shared use for campers), but the shared sanitary facilities for both functions are completely overloaded, outdated and simply filthy. Hot water for washing up has to be fetched from the laundry room (!). Everything (despite the nice groundsman) takes some getting used to and not recommended for a repeat visit.Tradus automat.

Especially the proximity to the center is good as well as the restaurant in the immediate vicinity of the place. It is also possible to get sandwiches and snacks at the swimming pool kiosk. The groundsman is really very nice and helpful.... Just a small comment about the sanitary area, it is a bit outdated, but I think after the renovation of the swimming pool the area will certainly be renovated. The location is very good. Walking distance to Karlstadt with many nice restaurants. It's right next to the swimming pool, which has just been renovated. Is certainly very nice in summer, when we were there it was still closed. The sanitary facilities are okay, but a bit outdated. On the other hand, the pitch is quite cheap.Tradus automat.

The operator couple is super nice and very competent in all questions of camper life.supply at the place is given.the swimming pool kiosk houses a great restaurant with bread service.in 5min. you are in the city center which comes up with great restaurants. The sanitary facilities... are old but very clean, although the place was full, the sanitary facilities were always clean. WLAN is free and of good quality. The main river is right next to the site and there is a jetty for boats. the highlight is undoubtedly the outdoor pool which is included in the price for campers. the water is heated to 28°C by district heating, really great for children. there is also a playground. we have already booked again for next year.Tradus automat.
