Best location around Sarlat
The site is located on a hill above the village of Groléjac, a quarter of an hour south of the town of Sarlat-de-Caneda. It is quite large with cabins in various price categories and very nice, huge plots for tents set up in the shade of large trees. The sanitary facilities are ok. They are well maintained... and there are plenty of them, but I can't get used to not being able to regulate the water temperature myself when showering. There are several washbasins, washing machines and dryers for laundry. A nice restaurant with reasonably priced food and a bar cater for your physical well-being and it looks like there is also a store for shopping in the high season in July/August, but it was closed in June, which was understandable given the occupancy rate, which was barely a third. However, you can get everything you need for breakfast in a bakery in the village - maybe a 10-minute walk away - and there is also a small supermarket next door that is open from 7:30 am. You can make many beautiful trips into the Dordogne valley from this site, all the major attractions around Sarlat are within easy reach in an hour. We stayed here for a week and had a program every day. Sometimes it can be a bit annoying that the reception is only open from 9:00 - 12:00 and from 15:00 - 18:00, but that may be different in the high season. You can stock up on flyers by the kilo and collect suggestions for all kinds of activities. All in all, you could hardly camp better.
