- Klaus-Peter A.July 2022PlusuriEasily accessible place for an overnight stayMinusuriEnvironment less beautiful (nuclear power plant around the corner), loud animation with megaphone, bathing lake limited usable due to constant traffic from motorboatStill an acceptable place for travelers passing throughWe were here for a stopover to visit Montelimar (see note at the end). The site is located away from the town, but is easily accessible via small roads.
The site is apparently divided into two parts. The left half is for permanent campers with hedges and shade, the right half for short stays and transients... is more like a large meadow with a few trees.
Advantage: There is enough space to leave the caravan hitched up. Disadvantages are obvious due to the complete lack of visibility.
We arrived in the early afternoon and actually wanted to go swimming straight away. This was hardly possible due to the boat traffic on the lake (a water scooter pulling rubber boats across the lake) and not really relaxing due to the incessant announcements and cheers via megaphone.
The owner/operator was not overly friendly or engaging. My wife speaks fluent French, so it wasn't the language that was the problem.
The washrooms are typically not luxurious, not separated for men and women but clean and quite spacious.
Finally, a note on Montelimar:
Anyone toying with the idea of visiting: Forget it! The town is (unfortunately) not very big, and compared to other towns in the area, it is not very attractive in terms of its architecture and is discreetly run-down. Many stores are permanently closed and everything looks pretty deserted. When it comes to buying nougat, a visit to one of the factories (we recommend Chaudron d'Or) is enough.Tradus automat. - Urs S.September 2018PlusuriClose to the highway, idyllic locationMinusuriCatastrophic sanitary facilitiesOvernight accommodation for the undemandingWe used the site for an overnight stay on the way south. Ideally located near the highway about 5 km north of Montelimar. Park-like grounds with mature trees next to a small bathing lake. No parcelling. There is a small swimming pool and a bar/snack restaurant on site, which we did not use. About a third... of the pitch was occupied by a clan from England, who were there with new double-axle Tabbert caravans and expensive towing vehicles. The sanitary facilities were a disaster. I have never encountered such conditions on a campsite. Out of 4 toilets, three were blocked and unusable. There was a pile of excrement in one shower. The campsite made a neglected impression. Electricity did not work at every pillar.Tradus automat.
- Alfred G.April 2018PlusuriQuiet, good for water sportsMinusuriInfrastructure rather at the lower limitSomewhat improvised operationWe were on the pitch on April 25. It was nowhere near ready for use. The operation was very improvised.Tradus automat.
- Michael T.July 2017PlusuriGreat, quiet location on the banks of a river. Great swimming opportunities.MinusuriThe wash house needs to be better prepared. It can be done, but it doesn't have to be longer. It's always a matter of taste, of course, but..."Alternative" place for sports fansOur overnight stay was an opportunity solution, interesting place, a bit alternative. Location: Super! Directly on a "lake" (offshoot of the Rhone river), bathing jetties, diving platform, separate swimming pool, sports field (tennis, table tennis, badminton net, slacklines), kayaks etc for hire. Small... bar/restaurant with program for children (karaoke when we were there... :-)) Program for children etc (Tuesday: karaoke...). Wash house: Well! Very "alternative" or "spartan", four outside toilets, four showers, hand wash basin tiny and only cold water, could also be cleaner. Very "camping" touch. Pitches not marked, electricity accessible, water only at the wash house. Address via Internet could not be found in the navigation system (Garmin), approach via N7 and "eyes open" (small signs) via Ancone. 2 p. / motorhome / electricity / night = 20 € = o.k. Small restaurant/bar. Rental accommodation.Tradus automat.
- Klaus N.April 2015Beautifully situated place practical with dogBeautifully located campsite was not easy to find the coordinates of the place were apparently not right small sign in front of Ancone showed us the way.Sanitary is getting on in years, but clean.we were the only guests.staff very friendly good value for money.Tradus automat.
- Gregor B.April 2014PlusuriLocation, tranquillity, facilities, value for moneyHighly recommended!Situated at the gates of Montélimar in a small wood directly on a lake, very quiet. Shopping facilities in Ancône (approx. 2 km) in a very small but excellent Epicerie/Boulangerie. There is also a bar-restaurant on the campsite with simple but good and inexpensive food. Very friendly management; price:... EUR 9 per night for one person with tent and bicycle. Overall highly recommended if you are not looking for luxury. Particularly suitable for cyclists on the ViaRhona, which passes close by.Tradus automat.
- Frank L.August 2013We stayed there with our caravan on our way to the Côte d'Azur. A somewhat outdated site with a great location. The sanitary facilities are just fine for one night. Nice, friendly staff.Tradus automat.
- Frank K.August 2012A very nice campsite near Montelimar. It corresponds to the 3 stars, is located on a small lake with a pool, a small, somewhat older tennis court and a bar with a restaurant. The pitches are nicely shaded, the owners are very friendly and the toilets are not new, but absolutely okay.Tradus automat.
