su h.July 2024PlusuriScenic and beautiful areaMinusuriThe gate is closed at 10 pm and locked with a lock. No more walking, no more leaving the campsite. Dogs must be walked on the campsite. Restaurant visits are only possible if you book in advance. So not possible on the day of arrival?Locked up and almost starved to deathWe were in Maka at the weekend. On arrival we wanted to eat something. Unfortunately, you can only use the small restaurant if you have reserved a place beforehand. So no fries with the beer on arrival. :-( Then we wanted to go for a walk in the evening after 10pm. After a delicious home-cooked meal.... Unfortunately, this was only possible on the Camoing because a locked door prevented us from getting out. We felt locked in, like in a sect. Sleeping at 10 p.m. given by the owners of the campsite?Tradus automat.- Barry P.June 2023Plusurithe location, the owners and staff, the showers and toilets and the relaxed atmosphere thereMinusuriactually none at all. maybe at most that the terrace is open a little longer than 9 p.m., but having a wine in front of the tent with the same view was not unpleasant eitherSmall, beautiful campground in a wonderful place!We (couple of 47 and 27 years) have just returned from a midweek camping Le Maka and actually it is better to say, that it was very bad, so that no one will look here and we can always keep this camping for ourselves ;-) But honestly; what a great location, beautiful pitches (we were with a big tent),... relaxed guests and friendly person! Everything is clean and kept up, the showers and toilets are super neat and in the evening you can rent fire bowls or make your own campfire (on fixed spots on the campsite) and above all very relaxing. The campsite is situated between a quiet stream and a shallow river and especially next to the river you have a beautiful view of the Ardennes. Nice villages and supermarket are easily accessible by car. We were without a child or pet, but you could see the children enjoying themselves there the old-fashioned way (without wifi, it still exists!). No youth camping, so at 11pm it gets quieter and the fires go on. Really very glad we went here and we will definitely come back to le Maka many more times!

You have to be a bit careful with the caravan.For camping close to nature. Not for guests who want to party.You have to get involved with the idea of the campsite. Here you can enjoy the peace and quiet and nature. Sit in front of the fire in the dark in the evening and listen to the river. If you don't find this relaxing, you're in the wrong place. The campsite is beautifully situated. The pitches are nice... and large and they have refrained from designating all areas as pitches so that the children still have space to play everywhere. The pitch for the tents has its own charm. The family who run the campsite were very nice and extremely helpful. It was a great vacation for the whole family. (2 adults, 3 children and dog)Tradus automat.- Rien B.September 2016We were not allowed on it.After a long trip, according to the manageress it was not possible to camp on the weekend of 10-09. There would be understaffing. The campground looked almost empty, but further on a pasr spots mense were just enjoying the beautiful landscape. I do not understand why we were not allowed in and why the... woman did not take more time to explain. Then she referred us to campsites after Bouillon, 20 km away, while around the corner, in the other direction, there are several campsites on the Semois at max 5 km from Maka. I find this false information downright shocking. The campground is beautiful, but with such treatment, I don't need to go there anymore. Besides, if you don't have your campground open, put that on your facebook page. That is a small effort, right? In short: thumbs down for camping Maka.Tradus automat.

Great place campfire allowed There are even places to make a fire together ... so you can quickly get in touch with the neighbors ... Nice operators, very clean toilets, bread roll services ... Excursions ... and lots... of space for children to climb and swim and not to forget fishing ... the larger place is on the river Semois and fewer places on the stream ... it should also be mentioned that the wifi is expensive and the reception for wifi and cell phones is not good everywhere ... but that didn't bother us at all ...Tradus automat.- Kim K.June 2013Waste of money. Regret not going to another of the many pleasantly run campsites in the Ardennes! Owners here very rude and arrogant to the campers! When I asked the owner politely if I could put in orders for bread for the next morning, he waved a finger at the desk and snapped 'you have to fill that... paper like I told you!' . We had never spoken about bread before this and he never told us about any paper to fill before this! i was shocked! and this was not the only occasion he was rude! The price is too expensive for what is on offer. No shade for the pitches, no separation either. You cannot even whisper in groups at night, or else he tells you the next day that he is thinking of throwing you out! and we were an adult family with children!! We camp a lot and never had such a horrible experience!!

- pieter H.August 2011Camping Maka looks very promising. Nice website, exudes the atmosphere that a nice, cozy, quiet and "natural" campsite should have. The reservation through the website went smoothly. Together with 2 other couples we were going to camp there for an extended weekend. So we specially reserved 2 places for... 6 people. Once on site, we were assigned the 2 smallest spots somewhere in a corner of the campground. It was just impossible to put our tents there. Very kindly I went to ask the owner if there was no other place possible (and there were still free places). Incredibly gruffly, this arrogant human replied that this was what we reserved. Slightly panicked, I called my friends that we had to find another solution. There goes our cozy weekend....I have never been treated so disgracefully in my long camping experience! This campground deserves other operators!!!!!!Tradus automat.
- Uwe P.August 2010Fantastically quiet location in the middle of nature by a river and stream, great for splashing around, swimming, hiking and climbing. The nearest village with shopping facilities (including a bakery) is approx. 10 km away. If you forget to order bread rolls, drive. Restaurant with an adequate menu.... We were allocated a pitch, but perhaps also because we were only there for one night. Access to the site via a narrow bridge, a bit fiddly with a caravan. Some activities on the site (suspension bridge, cable car over the water, high ropes, trampoline, boat hire). Sufficient sanitary facilities, clean and as good as new.Tradus automat.
