The sanitary facilities are excellent and there is a footpath/cycle path leading directly from the campsite to Mauterndorf. Directly at the Großeck valley station. Chaotic, non-functioning booking system at receptionSenior couple with dog for 1 weekWe had booked and paid for a specific comfort pitch months in advance, which was also confirmed to us in writing. On arrival this pitch was occupied, error in the system according to reception. We were allocated a pitch in a lower category, which was also far too small. When I refused the pitch, I was... told that it was big enough for our motorhome and also cheaper. I thought that was very cheeky, but that's how our vacation began :-( After a long back and forth, we were given a larger pitch, which we had to vacate after 3 days. In the end, we were offered €30 as compensation, less than the cost of 1 night. During our vacation there, we heard from several people (including the lift operator) that the pitches are often overcrowded. In addition, the pitches are very close together, every little space is rented out, even if only as a tent pitch. There are no hedges or bushes to the side, so other guests are always running over our own pitch.
The sanitary facilities made a good impression at first. However, the cleanliness left a lot to be desired due to the large number of tourists. The number of showers, washbasins and toilets is far too small.
On the plus side, the proximity to the gondola and a nice panorama at lofty heights. The Schialm is also very cozy and offers delicious food for every taste. The site is very easy to reach via the highway, is in the immediate vicinity of the Großeck/Speiereck ski area but other ski regions such as Obertauern are also easy to reach. The campsite is well prepared for winter... camping (storage room for skis, drying facilities...). We were also impressed by the friendliness of the staff, the presence of the owner and, last but not least, the good food in the restaurant. Deafening music deep into the night, the party continued from 7am, men urinating on the roadside .... and several other families left in a rage the next morning! In addition, construction noise on one day and 2 hours of shredding tree trunks on another day!Tradus automat.

Gondola directly at the campsite.We were there for 10 days over the turn of the year 1028/2019 for skiing. Perfect infrastructure: The valley station of the Großeck/Speiereck ski area with the Lungau ski region, including restaurant, ski school, ski rental and apres ski umbrella, is located directly behind the campsite. Obertauern can... also be reached in 30 minutes by ski bus. Warm and comfortable shower area. Small and fine sauna area can be used for a fee. We needed help leaving the pitch due to large amounts of snow. The team at the campsite helped us quickly and easily and pulled us out onto the road with an excavator. You can get to the highway safely and quickly even in very heavy snowfall, even without extreme winter equipment. The village of Mauterndorf can be reached on foot via a beautiful hiking trail in just under 30 minutes. Waste garbage cans for dog waste are generally missing.Cleanliness/lighting of the pathsThe path from the campsite to the village is very poorly lit. Dog owners should clean up after their dogs. Too few garbage bins/dog waste bags to dispose of the waste. For 5€ fee per dog you should be able to expect that.Tradus automat.

The sanitary facilities are great if you can climb stairs. For ladies, both toilets and washrooms are on the 2nd floor. Adequate facilities with toilets and washing-up... areas. Wellness area was, probably also due to the end of the season, only partially in operation. The advertised restaurant was also closed. In the season, we did not find out when it is, great. The weather also played along, so again a successful Easter vacation, which will be repeated next year :-) Big praise... to the cleaning staff, who were always in a good mood even though there was a lot to do. Location is great, cleanliness also impeccable, but the price-performance ratio is not right here: heating not sufficient for sub-zero temperatures (maximum temperature in the bathroom was 17 degrees), hardly any hanging options for wet clothes/towels etc. and worn-out mattresses in the double bed. Anita R.August 2015CP for stopovers and longer staysBeautifully located CP, which is ideal for a stopover due to its proximity to the highway (about 10 minutes from the highway, exit between the Tauern and Katschberg tunnels). Check-in is possible around the clock with deposited KeyCards, there are no barrier closing times. Although we had reserved a... pitch, this would not have been necessary as the campsite was only about 1/3 to 1/2 full (despite the high season at the beginning of August). All pitches have a grassy surface, tent pegs are sometimes difficult to get into the ground due to the compacted base layer. The pitches in the lower area are smaller, but in a quieter location. In the upper terrace area, the main road passing the campsite can be heard from 6 a.m. (trucks from the neighboring quarry). The sanitary facilities are new, spacious, clean and are located on the first floor of a restored house, which tells the history of the place and campsite in pictures on the walls. Dishwashers and washing machines/dryers are located on the first floor. Bread rolls and a limited range of groceries are available in the adjoining building. A small swimming pool, table tennis table, trampoline and slackline are also available free of charge in addition to the sauna. From the campsite you have a beautiful view of the surrounding mountains and the Speiereckhütte. The village of Mauterndorf is within easy walking distance, the foot and cycle path runs along the river. The varied landscape invites you to go hiking. The valley station of the Großeckbahn cable car is not far from the campsite. There is also a bus stop and the LungauCard provided free of charge by the campsite, which entitles you to considerable discounts on buses and free rides on the mountain railroads, inviting you to give your car a longer break.
