Friday and Saturday nights are very, very noisy...Caution - charges for abuse of your own children are imminent!Note: there are no family shower(s) on the camping site / the hooks for hanging up towels in the shower cubicles are too high for children to reach on their own / the shower cubicles and also the toilets, especially in the women's area, were often extremely unclean / the fittings in the shower cubicles... were sometimes defective, so that regulating the temperature of the shower water between scalding hot and really cold was a real challenge.
If you then go into the men's shower as a father with one of the daughters, it can be very unpleasant...
Family-friendly is different!!!

Most pitches in the shade under large pine trees. Fresh water connections available. Great pool area and reception and restaurant area. Food and bar tend to be in the higher price range. Our sanitary building 2 is rather outdated, but what is... very annoying is the absolutely inadequate water supply. Showering was not possible several times a day. The site is also open to everyone at night. Personally, guests with pit bulls and similar dogs gave me a massive start. With so many small children, these list dogs should be banned. At night it was sometimes very loud, the security service did not intervene. With a few improvements, the place would have 5-star potential.Tradus automat.
- Gerhard S.June 2021PlusuriPoolMinusuriStrange seating arrangements regarding washing lines, see detailed text.No washing lines allowed on treesUnfortunately, we can't recommend this campsite to anyone who doesn't have a clothes horse. Employees walk through the grounds every day and ask guests to remove their washing lines from the trees. There is no sensible reason for this (apart from the vague "security") and there is nothing to be found... in the site rules. We have never experienced anything like this in many dozens of campsites throughout Europe.
Otherwise, despite the outdated sanitary facilities (some are even closed in the low season, so everything is crowded into the small cabins with 2 showers and 2 toilets per gender), the site would be reasonably ok. If only it wasn't necessary to walk to the sea through an underpass under the main road. There is no breakfast anywhere, because everywhere opens at 10:00 at the earliest.
ACSI members should know that only the rearmost (i.e. furthest away from the pool) area is possible, which is also where the old sanitary facilities are located.
Conclusion: we left again. With Lanterna, Valkanela, Polari, Valalta etc, there are so many better campsites in Istria with higher quality and more sensible regulations that you simply don't have to put up with too many compromises at Stella Maris.Tradus automat. - Uwe P.September 2020PlusuriPeace, cleanliness, friendlinessMinusurinoneBeautiful placeFantastically beautiful family-run campsite with very friendly staff and everything always clean. We have been to the campsite many times and there is nothing to complain about. Highly recommended if you are looking for a little more peace and quiet and don't need round-the-clock entertainment. There... is also entertainment and shows here, but at a much higher level than at many other campsites. We always feel welcome and look forward to being there again soon.Tradus automat.

- Monika H.August 2018PlusuriPool beautifulMinusuri10-15 minutes walk to the sea Wash houses outdated Unfriendly reception - the customer is not king here!Attention - reservation does not mean you will get the booked placeONCE AND NEVER AGAIN We, a couple with 1 child, reserved a large pitch in January 2018 for August 2018 and paid €30 for it. The reservation modalities went well; we received a confirmation with the final price listed. When we arrived after 10 hours of driving, we were told that we had to pay €6.00 more... for the large pitch. We then referred to the final price shown on the reservation confirmation and were suddenly told that the pitch we had booked was no longer available. When we asked when the boss would be available, we were kept waiting. We were then allocated a smaller pitch in the blazing sun. The wash houses are cleaned regularly but are totally outdated. Shower heads do not work. Out of 8 women's showers, there was one that worked. In 6 men's showers, one was blocked and two were dismantled. Dog owners are asked to pay €6.00 per day. For this you have 1 dog shower in the most remote wash house. No poop bags. The pool is nice but the coating comes off after only 3 months. In addition, spraying against mosquitoes takes place in a night and fog situation (at 1.30 am). On departure I asked for a refund of the € 30.00 for the reservation, as I did not get the place I had booked. Initially it was not possible. Then they claimed it had already been transferred back to the Visa card, which was not true. Then another delaying tactic - we should come back the next day! Only when we vehemently insisted on our right were the reservation costs deducted from our bill after a 2-hour wait. THINK TWICE ABOUT VISITING THIS PLACE!!!Tradus automat.

We paid good money for the latter. However, we only found the dog beach on the day we left. But it wasn't just us. Perhaps it would be an advantage if the signs were placed where you are allowed to go with your... dog. At the front of the beach, where you are not allowed to go with your dog, the "sign" is just so hard to see. As we were told on the first day that there was no dog shower at the campsite, we didn't go looking for one. It was only after a few days when we complained that we were getting exactly nothing in return for our payment (no dog waste bags, no dog meadow, no dog beach that you can find, no dog shower...) that we were told that there was indeed a dog shower. This was also perfectly ok. Unfortunately, it arrived too late on the penultimate day of our vacation. It's a mystery to me why there are still so many inconsiderate campers who don't clean up after their pets. Presumably their dogs also poo in the yard at home. So there are landmines everywhere. No words. You also pay extra for every car. But you should be careful not to ever move it again once you have found a parking space! We had to park our car at the OTHER END of the campsite because there were definitely not enough parking spaces. That's not too bad, but it's annoying. Anyone can drive in and out anyway. Whether guest or not. But after all, security has better things to do. Every day we observed them sitting on one of the terraces of the free mobile homes for hours on end, looking at their cell phones. Their job was not clear to me. The mobile homes themselves are very nice, but they get filthy after just a few weeks. It's best to leave the curtains closed so you can't see how dirty the fronts and floors are. Just a shame. We found it disgusting that the towels are only changed once a week. Unless you pay extra to have them changed. The resort is very nice for kids. Although also a little dangerous. The numerous holes in the sidewalks are not repaired and caused our companion's child to fall and injure himself. Contrary to the descriptions of other campers, our mobile home was in a very quiet location. With one exception, we had no complaints about noise pollution.Tradus automat.

Unfortunately, our arrival began with the pitch crime, where after a long journey with two small children, three and two years old, we were sent across the site four times. Again and again we were given pitches that were far too small, or pitches that had full... sun from morning to evening. Even the list of free pitches handed out the third time didn't help much, because about half of them were taken. By chance, we discovered a pitch in the shade (not on the list) which, luckily for us, was free. The campsite itself is okay, everything except the sanitary facilities is new and nicely laid out. Many things are not finished, or are already broken again. For example, potholes in the new path, no signage on the entire site and, alarmingly, a small hole in the pool from which it is already rusting. Some things are also not well thought out, so anyone can enter / drive on the campsite and swim in the pool for free. The barrier opens for anyone who wants to get in or out. The lagoon area and the beach can be reached via a ten-minute walk. Bicycles definitely make sense. The beach is dingy and overcrowded. We looked for a beach further out for swimming and, above all, snorkeling. The pool is a quiet place, as the lifeguard is very interested in his smartphone. This is particularly popular with a few cheeky children, who use the waterfall as a slide or diving platform and keep all the bathers in suspense with daring tricks, except for the lifeguard, who is still virtually absent. Every morning, the sweeper wakes up the late risers with a lot of noise at around 7.45 am. Once the street is 'clean', a guy, whose function was not clear to us until the end, drives back and forth around the clock on a scooter. Odor nuisance included. Wonderful, it gives you that vacation feeling. There is no curfew, the cars, scooters and other vehicles are on the move around the clock. Sometimes at such high speed that we just about managed to push the cycling children out of the way. In the evening around 11.00 pm it is relatively quiet at the campsite, depending on the direction of the wind there is a lot of live music - but you get used to it. The service in the restaurant was non-existent, we were ignored twice. They reacted really well when the fuses on the power distributor blew, a technician came immediately and fixed everything. The sanitary facilities were always well maintained and the cleaning staff were very friendly. We went on great excursions to Groznjan and to Traktor Story in the direction of Porec. The latter impressed us with a super warm welcome and reasonable entrance fees of 70 kuna for the four of us, as well as a beautifully laid out area with lots of information. However, there was one situation at the campsite that I absolutely must mention, as it shocked us to the core. In the night from Wednesday to Thursday, we sat together with our neighbors for a long time and enjoyed the warm summer evening. At around 1.00 a.m., a strange vehicle drove across the square and we were still joking because we thought it was the sweeper. Suddenly we saw massive clouds of fog wherever the vehicle was driving. The fog covered the entire square and there was a strong smell of poison. A mother with a restless newborn baby ran straight into it. We immediately locked our tent as best we could and our neighbors closed the camper van. When we then asked at reception, they explained that it was a strong poison against mosquitoes. We asked why no one had been informed, to which we were referred to a notice in the wash houses written exclusively in Croatian. For us, this action was definitely the co-criterion. Only a few people noticed the poison spraying, everyone else slept in their mobile homes and tents with the doors and windows open.Tradus automat.

Of course it's not clean everywhere 24 hours a day, but it's often down to the vacationers themselves, because they leave the dirt behind and some behave like pigs (especially in the sanitary facilities). The cleaning staff... there do a job that deserves our respect. Experience has shown us that many vacationers think that the employees are responsible for their private dirt and that's how they behaved. On the subject of peace and quiet: you are on a campsite with all age groups. Don't children make any noise at home or do teenagers not even party in the evening? We had the problem that our immediate neighbors (around 60 years old) partied late into the night. The families with children were quiet. Incidentally, we've never seen drunk people lying around in four years. On the subject of "long distances": the site is huge and it's logical that the further back you are, the longer the distances are and that you have to cross a main road if you want to get to the water, or do the moaners want the sea to be carried in front of the motorhome? We were always treated in a friendly manner, because the Croatians know what they have in "their" vacationers - they make a living from it and try everything to leave us with good memories. A tip to the constant complainers (who are usually already looking for the fly in the ointment on the first day): Camping is not a luxury hotel, you have to be prepared to make a few sacrifices. The important thing is that you can relax and that's what you get here.Tradus automat.

Through a lot of luck and insistence, we got another pitch between two permanent campers because the other person canceled. The barbecue areas... are absolutely littered, so barbecuing is out of the question. The people in charge didn't see it as their duty to change this. After ten days it still hadn't been cleaned up! Apart from that, the reception is moderately friendly. However, the ladies who clean the shower rooms work tirelessly to keep the sanitary facilities in good condition! As there are quite a few permanent campers on the site, the ambition to keep the site nice has been lost. You also have to travel halfway around the world to get to the pool facilities. All in all: once and never again! NOT TO BE RECOMMENDED!Tradus automat.
