We were charged twice for the electricity flat rate (for no reason), we didn't get it back when we asked. The wash houses are ages away, don't smell good and are partly moldy. There was no wash house? It was agreed that we could make a fire in a bowl by the tent, but we were still told off...? We had to leave early for personal reasons and didn't get anything in return (of course you can argue about that now).
Bad
The Thuringian Forest is beautiful and we will visit it again, but certainly at a different campsite.

The site is in a really nice location. Family friendly and clean. The staff are friendly and polite.

well, for the whole place, which is not exactly small, there were only three showers and three toilets available. that's really a bit small.

We will definitely go there again, on the whole the place is really nice.
If the number of toilets and showers increases at some point, it will certainly be much better.

Too few toilets and showers. And the wash house is also cramped. The electricity went off from time to time and the washing-up water was sometimes cold.
WC and showers poor!
Despite all the scenic advantages: At Whitsun, the site was too crowded with guests for the sparse toilet and shower facilities. The electricity also failed here and there, and the water at the washing-up area sometimes remained cold. That's not an advertisement for camping. You might as well spend the night in a nice parking lot. Otherwise: beautiful location, well situated for hikers (Rennsteig/Goetheweg...).

The campsite is very well situated and nestled between wooded hills.for us as a couple with 2 dogs it was a nice relaxing time there.I could not rate some points, because the place itself, no food and only sporadically in the "kiosk" offered something to eat.but we knew that before and thus had everything... with.And the other points not taken into account are not to be rated for us, because we got exactly what we wanted: peace and relaxation!!! And how it is there in the summer or in the warmer season, we will definitely find out.With us was a lot of snow and we were nice walk.The staff is very friendly and the bread service has worked well.In summer, the 4 showers could come to their capacity limits.

The location is simply fantastic and an ideal starting point for a number of activities in the area.

Everything that is not quite right has been recognized by the new operators and is being improved bit by bit in these difficult times.
An oasis and haven of peace
I love being there with my family and friends. We enjoy the peace and quiet and can experience lots of great things on site and nearby. Our daughter has made a big leap in her development playing with other children without parents always having to stand behind and watch what the kids are up to.

-Bungalow smells of cigarette - Bungalow full of dog hair - Wooden facade on the Bubgalow is coming off, insulation is peeking out - Window glass broken - Interior needs a general overhaul -Price-performance completely overpriced - Terrace was full of weeds and sloping paving slabs -No one felt responsible on arrival despite repeated requests - Shower area/ toilets without changing tables - Playground very high grass -Green step work remained everywhere the whole time. -Wood varnish on the bungalow is completely peeling off - Mini-Mart on the campsite overpriced to the maximum

The campsite is not recommended.
The bungalows are completely overpriced and run down, an outrage to rent them to families.

A great campsite. Very nice staff. Highly recommended.

It was a trike meeting at the weekend and there was a man who acted like he was the boss of the trikers. He was threatening the press etc. We ourselves were sitting outside at the time when he was acting up and being aggressive. He boycotted everything. I felt sorry for the staff. All the other trikers were nice and there was also a little ride planned. But this Mr. Heckmann is not to be recommended in any place.
Great place
A beautiful campsite with reasonable prices. The prices have remained the same even during Corona and have not been increased.

Reasonably good location. Bus connection to the right and left every half hour.

No pitches, snack outside. Offered price not kept at billing, simply € 2,-, with me and with other partners € 3,- more expensive.
Camping prices
The previous groundsman negotiated with himself at group meetings. The new groundskeeper tried to get the last bit out of the offer for corona reasons. When settling the bill, he added what he had forgotten to write in the offer. Then billed the same teams differently.

Place unfortunately under new management. No longer recommended
Under the old management, the place was always an insider tip that people were happy to recommend.

Not top modern, rather rustic and hospitable. You simply felt at home...
That was once...

The new owner first raised the prices massively for everyone.

For the money you get far more modern pitches with... better infrastructure.

The washing-up facilities alone are sparse, stuffy and probably date back to the early days of the site.

Bread rolls in the kiosk are rather chewing gum and far too expensive. An absolute no go

The old owner had a knack for groups and offered good prices. The new one still offered a price that was just about acceptable, but collected completely different prices on entry BEFORE!!!!
That's never happened before!

This resulted in 3 completely different bills for the identical trailers and space requirements, as we found out on the site with our friends.

When we asked, they threatened to throw us out
He didn't need something like us
We were easily 80 people who filled the place.

A few more the years before. The massive price increase in the offer kept them from coming back.

Nevertheless. He would never have achieved that with normal weekend campers.

And then he became insulting because we avoided his barbecue and beer stand and catered for ourselves.

Sorry.
If he had stuck to the agreements and offered the food at reasonable prices, he would probably have sold out....

But never again. Even permanent campers complained to us about him and looked for something else... A prime example of how it shouldn't be

We campers are the people who make you money!!!

We are not the bit players that you generously put up with.

We have traveled several 100 km to come to you.

But no problem. There are plenty of other places in the region that we visited and talked to on the way back.

They immediately understood what opportunities there were for them.
