Hiking trails start directly from the campsite.
All in all, we would probably come again, but the price without water/waste water is really quite high.

You paid €18.75 per person for a pitch with a dog. You are in the Eifel National Park with direct access to the Rursee. Water and waste water are not available at the pitches due to water protection. But you are right in the middle of nature.... Our employees are all paid a fair salary and that, among other things, has its value. Some of the toilets have black mold on the ceiling and walls. The floor is also a disaster. There is no playground for children. The high price for this place is not justified in my opinion. Unfriendly owners. Reception is closed from 12h to 15h or even 16h. Showers are 1 euro for +/- 10 min and you can only use 1euro pieces.
Showers were more often cold than hot. Plumbing was not very clean.
There is a frigo with some drinks at the reception. You pay for the bottles and... only get it back if you hand it back with receipt. It is not enough that they recognize you from half an hour earlier.... so keep all receipts.
We left earlier than planned because we didn't feel comfortable there but we paid everything in advance, never saw the money back, they refused to pay us back. Still glad we left, then the enjoyment of this beautiful region could really begin!Tradus automat.

It's no use if the operator reacts to alleged misbehavior of the guests with an expulsion, but does not adhere to her own rules.
To explain: we were on the site with our dog and always had him on a lead. Our dog peed on a tree stump, whereupon we were threatened with expulsion. It's getting on in years, but clean.MinusuriDamaged steps at the entrances between the pitch terraces and the sanitary building and receptionSmall and beautifully situated campsiteA small campsite with direct access to the Rursee. A good starting point for hikers, cyclists and water sports enthusiasts. SUP and canoe/kayak can be hired directly at the site. Pitches (grassy ground) are mostly with electricity. No direct pitches. No service area for motorhomes. Sufficient space for... tents, caravans or motorhomes. Tent pitches also in the adjacent forest. Sanitary building is getting on in years. But was always clean and often cleaned. No service area for motorhomes. Water must be brought to the sanitary building using a watering can or ... be brought into the WoMo. Stairs between the two pitch terraces and the sanitary building as well as to the reception are damaged. it goes over a small, but also steep side road directly to the campsite.
The site is secured by a barrier. Bread roll service from a bakery is available and works perfectly. Staff were always friendly and helpful. Meadows soften naturally in heavy rain. If necessary, consider how the camper or caravan is placed. The town center or the Rurschiffart (excursion boats) are within walking distance.
We spent a week on the site and will certainly be back.

No parcelling of the pitches. Sometimes chaotic conditions when the site is full. Cars are parked close together with no consideration for neighbors. Pitches uneven and sometimes muddy when it rains. Access roads gravelled. Showers with coin slot for approx. 5 minutes in... 70s flair. Unfriendly reception. Dog owners are immediately informed of bans and leash requirements and are constantly checked. Permanent campsite next door. No V+E for motorhomes. Steep access road. Small lake access. Is identical to Camping Rursee. Conclusion: Never again...Tradus automat.
- Frank H.July 2017PlusuriPure nature.MinusuriStreet close to the pitch, old sanitary facilities.Simply campingWe were with the tent on the Zeltwiese (freshly mowed, but unfortunately not all grass disposed of, is annoying in the rain, as with us) without Ameldung and were received friendly.The campsite is large and is located at the end of the site, unfortunately often the traffic but especially loud motorcycles... are good to hear.The sanitary facilities could be more contemporary, the space for changing clothes etc. is very tight in the shower, the shower fitting from the 60s as well as the fact that you have to handle 1 euro coins, the reception is kept small and offers things you have forgotten, gas, hygiene articles, drinks etc.. But you should rather shop somewhere else.the expenses are ok for the night and are in the normal range.who just wants to camp and has no great demands is right on this place.clear and cozy in full nature.so therefore to recommend! Next shopping only possible in Simmerath!Tradus automat.
Christiane K.July 2016Plusuri- Direct access to the lake for water sports enthusiasts - no parcelling and free choice of pitchesMinusuri- the condition of the sanitary facilities - Showers and sinks only with coins - Steep driveway and steep footpaths (stairs) to reception and sani.Very simple spaceThe site has a long, steep driveway. You should be aware of this if you want to arrive with a large caravan. You can choose your own pitch on the site down in the valley. There are no plots. The meadow is very uneven in places. Electricity boxes are dotted around the site. You have to fetch water from... the sanitary building, which is located above the pitch. This can be quite tedious. Waste water disposal is also there. You need €1 coins to shower. However, the water gets cold as soon as someone flushes the toilet. So be prepared for alternating showers. There is only cold water at the washbasins. If you want to flush, you need 0.20€ coins and can then heat up a 5 liter boiler. You have to bring your own toilet paper. There is also no soap or anything to dry your hands with. As the Rursee is a popular destination for motorcyclists, you can hear motorcycle noise all day long. It is quiet at night. Unfortunately, there is no view of the lake from the pitch. A small stream flows alongside the site - great for children to play in. The reception offers a bread roll service. We paid €51 for 2 nights with a caravan, 2 people and a dog.Tradus automat.

The Rursee is right next to the site and offers the opportunity to swim and surf. The place is quiet, relaxing is the order of the day. For cycling, it's better to head for the flatlands. On the other hand, if you are looking for a place to pitch your tent for the night and explore the surrounding area during the day, this is the place for you.Tradus automat.
