- Kristina U.July 2023PlusuriCanoes and rowing boats for hire for a fee Barbecue free of charge (never available)MinusuriIf you're looking for Swedish tranquillity here, you'll search in vain. The campsite is totally overcrowded. The area is large, but with over 160 pitches, it eventually fills up. The toilets (dry toilets) were not cleaned or emptied in the whole 2.5 weeks. It also smelled extremely of excrement outside the toilets. The sauna was filthy and was never cleaned. The night's rest from 22:00 was never observed. There was a pump for the drinking water supply, which was also constantly occupied with queues. Dogs are only welcome under strict conditions.Worst ratingIf you're looking for Swedish tranquillity here, you'll search in vain.
The campsite is totally overcrowded.
The area is large, but with over 160 pitches, it eventually fills up.
The toilets (dry toilets) were not cleaned or emptied in the whole 2.5 weeks. It also smelled extremely of excrement outside... the toilets.
The sauna was filthy and was never cleaned.
The night's rest from 22:00 was never observed.
There was a pump for the drinking water supply, which was also constantly occupied with queues.

Free firewood (you have to cut it yourself) Division of spaces with lots of distance and trees between each space or group. The cave Valhall with fireplaces and tables.MinusuriNothing negative to say.Great place for peace and quiet and beautiful surroundings. The best natural wilderness camping I have seen. In many spots you can almost believe you are on your own. The area is huge and the focus has been on providing a wilderness feeling rather than maximizing number of camping spots.
Many tent places are actually in the forest, over bridges by the lake, on... islands etc. A lot of vehicle spots are on high perches or by the water.
Fireplaces strategically placed around each area.
Facilities are simple but clean, everything you need. Outdoor kitchen with gas stoves to heat water, what comes from pumps at wells.
Firewood is free but you have to cut it yourself.
Cave is great for wet weather with fireplaces and tables.
Great saunas and plenty of boats and canoes on hire.
Nice walks around the site and surroundings.Tradus automat. - Esther G.July 2017PlusuriPeace, nature, pure relaxation...incomparableMinusuriThere is no running water and no electricity...you have to want that. We love it!Sweden as it is written in the bookOur absolute favorite place. We have already been there 9 times. Forest, lake, campfire and this heavenly peace ... WonderfulTradus automat.
- Andreas K.July 2016PlusuriVery nice place to relax. Children can have lots of adventures there. You are in the wilderness there!MinusuriThe nearest supermarket is 10km away. It is best to bring your own tools, such as a saw and axe.The best camping entry you can imagineThe pitch is pure relaxation. Water has to be pumped from the well, plum toilet with soft-close lid. Hot showers only if the shower bag has also heated the water. Ideal for children. You can go canoeing, swimming, fishing, make a fire and just relax. The pitches are very spacious and in some places you... might think you are camping alone in the Wals. The bread roll service comes every day. We were there with a camper van, next time we will come with a tent. It's a bit more original. So far, it's the best place I've been to. You feel like you're out in the wilderness.Tradus automat.
- Simona J.June 2016PlusuriVery simple, but everything is thereMinusuriApproach via narrow gravel roadour absolute favorite campsiteWe visited this campsite in June 2015 and immediately fell in love with it. That's why we came back again. The pitch is comparable to the pitches in Western Canada. They are large, flat and separated from the next pitch by bushes or trees. Since this year, the site has been run by the daughter of the... "builders" of the site. The welcome is always very friendly and uncomplicated. The water is pumped into the daylight, shower water is heated in bags by the sun and washing up is done with hot boiled water. The toilets are 5-star outhouses with washbasins, water from the foot pump and soap for washing hands. The canoes and rowing boats are ready and waiting, complete with life jackets. You have to cut and split your own firewood for the barbecue or sauna. Just the right place to relax!Tradus automat.
- Sven D.July 2015PlusuriFriendliness, forest, water, course conditionMinusuriNo real disadvantages. For my taste, it could have been a bit more spartan...Not as wild as you think.....Beautiful natural campsite by the water and in the forest. The reception was very friendly. Most of the pitches are accessible without a 4x4. Fresh bread rolls are available on site. Nearest shopping facilities approx. 10 min by car. There is no running fresh water and no electricity. But that sounds... worse than it is. Thanks to LED technology and gas in the caravan, you hardly notice it. Fresh water is pumped from a well. There are chemical toilets. These are cleaned daily by a company. There is even a washbasin with a foot pump for water in the toilet blocks. The paths are very well paved. There are good canoes for hire. Sauna with wood stove is great. Conclusion: A great nature campsite in a beautiful location, yet close to shopping facilities. The site is clean and excellently run. Toilets, water etc. available, just different to get. Definitely a survival feeling for children from school age....Tradus automat.
- Marion B.July 2015PlusuriVery nice campsite in the forest, leisure activities in nature for childrenMinusuriSanitary facilities, dry toilets not clean. Pitches partly smallBeautiful location - commendable conceptWe think the idea of offering a real "nature vacation" is very good. On this campsite you can really teach children about living close to nature with all the consequences (e.g. pumping water before you can shower or cook...). Basically a very nice place, in the middle of the forest, but we missed the... advertised peace and quiet. There were small pitches, very close to each other and many families with children, the noise level was very high. Only conditionally suitable for people who are really looking for peace and quiet. There's nothing wrong with dry toilets, but they didn't look as if they were cleaned regularly.Tradus automat.
- brooke s.July 2014PlusuriLocation, peace and quiet, no electricity or running waterPure relaxationSimply brilliant - everything else has already been described. We'll be back... Have lots of great neighbors and a great camping feelingTradus automat.
- Christoph B.September 2013PlusuriFree wilderness favorable friendly speak GermanMinusuriIt is not for campers who expect perfect sanitary facilities and paved pitches.Real adventure camping in the great outdoorsOne of the most beautiful campsites we know in Sweden. First of all, there is no electricity here, water for showers has to be pumped by hand and you have to chop your own firewood. Toilets are dry toilets. If you can live with it, you can expect a unique experience in almost open nature, canoeing, fishing,... watching animals, a dream for children. You can rent a kayak and the surrounding area is also very interesting. Everything is typically Swedish and uncomplicated, arrive, park where you want (or reserve in advance) and clarify everything else during reception hours. The extensive grounds with several harbors and saunas as well as storage rooms in the ground are a huge natural playground, of course without a net and double bottom. There is a common room carved into the rock...very impressive. Really something for nature lovers.Tradus automat.

- Katja j.June 2012We found it very nice, almost like "wild camping". Of course, you don't have the luxury of hot running water, but first have to pump and then heat the water for a hot shower. But you can use a wood-heated sauna, make a campfire ... The pitches are all generously sized and some are very far apart. Almost... all with a beautiful view. The grounds as a whole are beautifully laid out and close to nature. The only downside was that when there was no wind in the mornings and evenings there were "knots", miniature biting midges.Tradus automat.
- Per J.July 2011Once you've tried it, you won't forget it in a hurry. Camping on long straight rows can NOT be compared. See much more about the campsite on our website: http://www.makril.dkTradus automat.
- Ulf W.July 2011Were there with the caravan. Pitches were quite small. The toilets were disgusting and stank (we are used to outhouses from years of sailing in the Skären and know that you can sprinkle them so that they hardly smell at all). There was a huge open garbage container in front of the entrance to the campsite,... which was so full that the garbage bags were already standing next to it. That was not a welcoming reception. It goes without saying that the access road to a wild camping site is rustic. But the potholes in the access road were a bit severe. The reception was friendly and helpful, but couldn't make up for the points of criticism for us.Tradus automat.
