In the restaurant, a fresh delicious meal, what more could you want. Top - keep it up!MinusuriI missed the bread rolls a little in the morning. lu s.September 2021PlusuriGood accessibility from the A7. Beautiful hiking and cycling trails in the immediate vicinity. A swimming area to the Westensee is practically next door.MinusuriThe tourist pitches are located on a green area between the permanent campers, functional areas and the wooded shore zone of the lake. The party pavilion is adjacent to this area. Unpleasantly loud in the evening and at night. During the day, the site seemed quiet - rental containers for showers and toilets were placed on the foundations of the demolished old sanitary building. If you want to use one of the two showers available, you have to get the key for the container at reception, i.e. you can only use the shower when reception is open... - The charred remains of a burnt-down caravan are preserved in one of the green areas above... - Rabbit infestation...Simple, but geographically well located campsiteThe campsite is obviously in a state of upheaval (change of tenant / corona-related also a lot of fluctuation in the permanent camper area etc.). Organization and standard accordingly. Except perhaps that there wasn't yet a children's playground, but one is planned.Well-kept, cozy, good foodThe vacation meadow offers shady pitches and plenty of space, as the pitches are not parceled out.
The direct proximity to the bathing area on the beautiful Westensee is great, but due to the separation from the campsite you only have contact with the day tourists in the restaurant.
The new operators... and the ("long-established") permanent campers were very pleasant and hospitable throughout.

You can enjoy nature and the site is relatively quiet, so not suitable for loud barbecue parties in the evening. The sanitary facilities could be a bit cleaner. The sanitary facilities are probably over half a century old. There is a large shelter with tables and chairs next to the sanitary building. Tidy with a feel-good atmosphere looks different. There is supposed to be free W-LAN, but I didn't have reception. The groundsman takes... some getting used to. I was about to be thrown out because my tent wasn't quite right for his taste. I didn't feel like a guest. The bathing options from the pitch are very limited. There are a few forgotten and flooded rowing boats in the water on the site's own very small "beach". There are hardly any opportunities for refreshments at the adjacent snack bar, which only opens at 12.00 noon. Conclusion: If you want to camp by the lake, you should consider other sites.Tradus automat.

We came to the site specifically because we wanted to see if we could spend a longer vacation here. Conclusion: We won't be coming back. The cleanliness (partly also mold infestation in the older house) does not meet our requirementsTradus automat.- Martin D.August 2018PlusuriNot too far from the highway, yet very quiet and really dog-friendly (dogs are not only allowed, but welcome).Super, especially for dogsPrivate access to the lake, dogs are also allowed to swim here at the campsite (not at the public bathing area at the large parking lot in front of the campsite, where dogs are not allowed). Dogs only cost a flat rate of €1 (price also applies to two dogs), there are bags at the exit of the campsite... for their droppings, and the forest for walking is right in front of the campsite. The snack bar next to the campsite is fine, large portions, good value but nothing special. This is our favorite transit site on the way to DK. The operator is passionate about what he does, and you can tell.Tradus automat.

Even just five people sitting together is viewed critically. I can understand that the night's rest has to be respected, but... I can't understand why you're put in your place at five to eight (in the evening). Well, maybe that will change in the next few years, so that you can go there again. (The site is about 200m from Westensee, has lots of trees that provide shade in summer and is very quiet. The sanitary building is modern, but not particularly large, but more than adequate and well... maintained. (3 washbasins and 3 showers) We stood (with motorhome) on a large meadow with about 9-10 other campers. There were no spatial boundaries between the vehicles, which didn't bother us. Somewhat disadvantageous is, due to the location, the next shopping opportunity is far away. (Only accessible by car) We only spent one night on the site as we were making a short stopover here on our way to Denmark. The campsite is a real insider tip for anyone who likes it a bit quieter and close to nature. We will be stopping here again on our next trip to Denmark.Tradus automat.

The owners are very friendly, helpful former campers. The site is well maintained, the older sanitary building looks a bit old-fashioned, but like the already renovated second building it is also very clean. The site was visited... by couples with small children as well as older couples during our stay. It's for campers who love peace and pure nature. The Westensee is very clean, the water temperature was still 18 degrees, so you could still go swimming. We were very satisfied and will be back.Tradus automat.

Bathing spots, not overcrowded even in the high season, hiking, cyclingMinusuriNoneNatural idyll on what I consider to be the most beautiful lake in Schleswig-HolsteinAs a native of Schleswig-Holstein, I thought I knew my state and many of the lakes and campsites... But it was only this summer that I discovered the Westensee Nature Park as a hiking, paddling and jogging paradise. Only 20 minutes from Kiel, 1 hour from Hamburg, a hilly dream landscape of forest/meadows,... old estates, slightly hilly, a sparsely populated, not "built-up" lake with bathing spots and many small secluded bays and side lakes. We saw 2 sea eagles on the very first day. You can also cycle to the Kiel Canal (large ships, transporter bridge in Rendsburg) and the Emkendorf estate (Schleswig-Holstein music festival/music festival in the countryside). For nature lovers: definitely try it out for a weekend!Tradus automat.

Unfortunately there is no bike rentalOne of the best places I've beenWe found the place by chance. But as soon as we arrived, we received a super friendly welcome from the owner. After briefly completing the formalities, we had free choice of pitch (not standard on many sites). The pitches were all in top condition and some were fenced in by small hedges, so we felt at... home from the very first minute. Electricity and water were all close to the pitches. The pitch itself, surrounded by tall trees and with its own beach, is a dream for anyone looking for peace and quiet. The sanitary facilities were in very good condition and very clean. We found the "old wash house", which was sometimes heavily criticized here, very good. Where else do you find such large shower cubicles? Even with a washbasin and a small bench for your clothes, we give it a grade 1! Because we don't care whether the tiles are green or pink or whatever - cleanliness and functionality is what counts! We also really liked the hot water display - on other pitches, cold water suddenly appears without warning. The owners are super friendly and were happy to help us with any questions. The price-performance ratio is also right - great space for little money! We have saved the campsite in our favorites and will definitely be back!Tradus automat.
Krisse V.June 2014PlusuriFriendly operators, own access to the lake.MinusuriThe sanitary building: a relic from times long past, barely recognizable from the cobwebs and creepy-crawlies.Nice place with unacceptable sanitary facilities.We came to this site as campers, knowing that there was nothing far and wide (except Kiel, about 20 km away), but we didn't want any action, we just wanted to spend a quiet summer weekend by a lake. And the site is perfect for that. The operators are extremely friendly and the formalities and check-in... are straightforward. The tent meadow is very nicely situated, slightly uneven, only a row of trees about 5 meters wide separates the tent meadow from the lake. As campers, we were also given the choice between the meadow and the pitch. There is access to the lake for campers only, a bread roll service and a few cold drinks are sold cheaply at reception. Now to the negatives: The old sanitary building is disastrous. There is also a new one, but it is locked and probably only intended for permanent campers. With the old sanitary building, I seriously wonder whether "natural camping" is seen as a synonym for "no need to renovate and remove spiders (weaving)". The toilets and taps were decent, but the showers were far below the tolerance limit. There are two showers, 50 cents for 6 minutes of hot water. A coin slot did not seem to work. The showers are old, green tiled, under a very flat sloping roof, shower attached to a kind of "coat hook", transparent roof panels through which hardly any light penetrated because of the dirt. And spiders and stuff hanging in the cobwebs everywhere. It's fine during the day, but as soon as it's dark and the light is on and there are 5-cent piece-sized spiders hanging around everywhere, it becomes really unacceptable. That is the only, but decisive, reason why I will not visit this place again and cannot recommend it.Tradus automat.- Svenja H.August 2013I've been there a few times to visit friends and now for a weekend, I can only say I'm thrilled! It's quiet there, all the people are very nice, the price-performance ratio is unbeatable. I stayed in the rental camper and it is also super equipped, comforters & pillows, coffee machine, kettle and dishes... everything is available. Some of the sanitary facilities are a bit old but still very well maintained and clean. For my two dogs it was also a great experience, they could swim in the lake or we went for long walks in the forest. All in all, I'm very satisfied and am considering whether to get a permanent place there..... :-)Tradus automat.
