The nearest town can be reached on foot in about 10 minutes.
Restaurants and wine tasting stands are in the immediate vicinity.
You can enjoy a direct view of the Rhine for an extra charge and cycling and hiking trails lead right past the campsite.

Whoever gave this place an operating license was either blind or had big pockets. It is clear that the electrics must be specially protected near the Rhine, but it is life-threatening like this. Old armature tubes without fuses with CEE plugs tied to them are sticking... out of the ground, about 30 cm long. As no one had mowed the lawn here for many weeks, they were barely visible. Then the operators demanded 2€ Kw/h and since we only wanted to stay one day we accepted this (a fridge in the caravan never uses this in 14 hours of presence) we were made to believe when we checked out that we had used 4 KW and since we only wanted to leave we reluctantly paid and left. So if you want or have to go to this site, get on the ladder and document the initial meter reading. We will buy an external meter as a result of this experience.
In all the years since we have been traveling, we have NEVER experienced that the disposal of the chemical toilets is located directly in the sanitary rooms.
The sanitary facilities are very old and the fittings, including the shower heads, are broken.
Final remark: someone was looking for a new tenant here and nobody wanted to do it and so Eastern Europeans opened a "beer garden" and they don't care about the rest! The sanitary facilities are unfortunately outdated with pipes laid on plaster. At first we were a bit shocked, but the sanitary facilities were always clean during our stay in the high season 2019 and were cleaned twice a day. Everything looks... a little outdated. There should be a lot of investment to keep up. It would certainly be a lot more expensive then. Otherwise well suited for cycling tours along the Rhine or into the Rheingau. Spacious pitches, whereby the positioning of the caravan or camper is predetermined. There is very little shade on the site, most pitches have a steep incline. There is no WLAN on the pitch. Site operators are very... friendly, bread service on site, otherwise practically no supply. However, there is a good "Italian" restaurant directly on site (recommended). Water points on the site are sometimes very far away from the pitches. Sanitary facilities are getting on in years, showers very narrow and hardly any shelves or coat hooks. However, they were always clean when we were there. The site is particularly suitable for cycling and hiking tours. It is also not far to Rüdesheim/Drosselgasse pp. Although the site is located between the Rhine and the main road, the noise is limited. We can recommend the site.Tradus automat.

The lease for the "Brückenschänke" was terminated by the municipality. The building has already been gutted, it will probably become a "fancy-pants restaurant", what a pity. The owners of the CP are trying to keep it... open, for example by creating a new beer garden with a small restaurant. The food was very good at moderate prices, as were the drinks. Some of the run-down permanent camper pitches had to make way for the beer garden, which is good for the overall appearance. Unfortunately, the opening of the site to the riverside cycle path and the soccer pitch (for beer garden guests) means that access is completely uncontrolled during the day. The sanitary facilities (both showers and toilets), which were previously only cleaned with "round corners", are currently even more run-down and completely filthy. Only 2 showers each without a door with a dingy curtain and a coin-operated machine are absolutely unacceptable. If you want to stay here overnight, you should have your own functioning toilet and washroom. I hope that these are all just teething problems. Renovated and clean sanitary installations would make the place recommendable again. I wrote this in 08-2009: We have already been to this lovely little cozy site three times. About 50 non-parceled pitches on grass, no full service on the pitch. If you expect animation or super sanitary facilities, this is not the place for you, but it was always reasonably clean. Being lazy right on the Rhine is perfect here. The cycle path leads right past, and it's not far to Rüdesheim. Directly in front of the campsite is a large wine barrel where local winegrowers offer their products at very reasonable prices, changing daily. The site also has a good, inexpensive restaurant with a terrace overlooking the Rhine, where we ate often and plentifully. Unfortunately, everything is quite "old" and "retro". We weren't sure about some of the permanent campers - is it scrap or is it still inhabited? The sanitary facilities are clean, but only heated with a mobile gas... heater in cold weather (only the showers). There is no playground or anything similar for accompanying children, nor is there a kiosk. OK for passing through, but not recommended for a longer stay. Definitely too expensive for the standard on offer!Tradus automat.

As a cyclist with a tent, the costs are far too high (€5.20 for a small tent, €1.00 extra for the bike and showers). The staff would also benefit from a little more friendliness.Tradus automat.

The sanitary facilities are in urgent need of renovation. 2 showers with a shared anteroom, no individual wash cubicles and you have to wait a long time for hot water. It was clean but simply no longer up to date. The location directly on the Rhine is great. Especially if you have... a pitch in the front row. The power supply at the site is adventurous. The restaurant right on the square was very good. You could eat well and cheaply here. Our conclusion: OK for a weekend, but otherwise the price/performance ratio is simply not right.Tradus automat.

Klaus J.September 2011A great location, right on the Rhine. Sanitary facilities: Made a very old impression, as many of the tiles were cracked. Walls and floors were permanently damp. Not working at all, wobbly toilets, hot water for showers sometimes yes sometimes no. Early or late showers are taken in the dark as the light... is switched on by a motion detector. After about 7 minutes the light goes out, the hot water runs for 10 minutes, if it is warm (€ 1,--). It's fine for one night, it's a shame really, the campsite could be turned into something really good. Service like bread rolls or drinks is not known. The food in the restaurant was lukewarm, came out of the microwave and the portions were designed for children or seniors. The only thing that was really great was the price.
