Great campsite
We were thrilled. Our pitch was right next to the dog meadow so we had a view of the water, the child didn't have far to go to the playground and the dog didn't have far to go either. I thought the sanitary buildings were both good. The night's rest was respected, not necessarily the midday rest, but... I didn't think that was too bad. What bothered us was that you had to pay cash for almost everything in the bistro and also in the Edeka, we tend to pay by card and don't like to have a lot of cash in our pockets all the time. In any case, it is a beautifully maintained complex with lots of cleanliness. We will definitely be back.

We stood on the Merkelwiese. nice big pitch. The wash house is easily accessible by bike. It's a bit quieter here. That's not bad either. The sanitary facilities are clean. The children's showers are particularly well done.

A very nice cp. Second time there. Everything easily accessible. Sanitary facilities clean and tidy. would love to come again. We originally had another pitch (Friedrich 28) but we couldn't put up an awning there. It was a relatively small pitch for us. We then went to reception and were offered an alternative. We thought that was great. It is taken care of. It's very nice on the merkelwiese.

Very nice beach Great promenade, new sanitary facilities. Electricity and water supply close to the campsite. Great huge soccer field.

Bad labeling in the sanitary facilities, never found out right away or what is where, also saw several people wandering around except me. Unfortunately lots of duck droppings and feathers which is not acceptable on a 5 star site. A lot of traffic and unfortunately no attention is paid to quiet times. The children's lounge was stuffy and filled with very old paid slot machines. Beer garden not recommended Pizza too much sauce and like chewing gum lasagna without taste 2 pizza, lasagna, salad, 3 water 75 Euro.
Price performance not available.
Unfortunately not recommended as a 5 star campsite we were very disappointed. It would have been well advertised as a normal campsite. We paid a lot and arrived with great anticipation.

Ever more slimmed-down service. The now free WiFi is a disaster and has deteriorated significantly compared to the paid version, for whatever reason. The range of restaurants, which is clearly over-advertised, is meagre. We prefer to eat out in the surrounding area. The new opening hours of the supermarket are strange. It must be clear that there is a lot of traffic on a square of this size. However, no attention is paid to maintaining an appropriate speed. If we were still traveling with children, I would be worried about their safety.

Spacious site with large plots
We were stranded here at the beginning of September and spontaneously got a place.
The staff were very friendly and we only had to pay for the nights we were there (despite a spontaneous 7-day booking which we had to cancel after 4 days).
The site is very spacious and the dog section is a huge advantage... for anyone with a water rat. We missed the opportunity to just sit down and have a coffee or a glass of wine in the evening because the few restaurants were already closed or were closed for other reasons.

I wonder why the site belongs to Leading Camping Europe. The site is not bad per se, but it doesn't stand out by far. The location by the lake is certainly unbeatable in the heat

One of our favorite places to go in summer
Basically very satisfied. Good people. Peaceful area. Variety for the dogs. From this year onwards, no more parcels will be accepted at reception! Was a big highlight. We always liked to order Amazon things there. This has been discontinued.

The friendliness of the staff has also suffered somewhat over... the years. Perhaps only this year. They were less flexible here. Less friendly and less helpful. Maybe it has something to do with the weather this year ;)

Pitches too close together, completely overcrowded, constant coming and going, it felt like it was arrival and departure every day. It is not possible to let the children walk or cycle around the site on their own with a clear conscience, too much traffic!
Ok, but not 5 stars
The campsite probably has 5 stars. The sanitary facilities are really great, as is the location on the lake. Some pitches are well equipped with fresh and waste water. However, the supply pipes are a disaster. Infested with verdigris, you don't want to tap the water.
The promised and advertised comprehensive... (sports) entertainment does not take place at all. There is hiking twice a week and yoga for a fee. I would have expected something different from the description and a 5 star place! Any offer from external providers and therefore it costs money. With 5 stars and the price we would have expected something more included.

Unfortunately it felt like there was a constant coming and going. In two weeks there were already 5 direct neighbors. This means that children cannot drive around the site on their own without danger. We would have liked a little more peace and quiet here.

Thanks to the beautiful weather and the direct lake location, we had a great vacation. The lake is super clean and due to its pleasant temperature, it's great for a swim in the morning before breakfast or late in the evening.
There is a beautiful sunbathing lawn with large old trees.

However, you shouldn't... have a problem with dogs, as they are in the majority on the campsite and this is sometimes annoying.
In the morning you should bring plenty of time to get bread rolls because the queue is long and it is not possible to order in advance.
The food in the "Strandkurhaus" is not recommendable, the price-performance ratio is not right. However, it is quite nice to sit on the lakeside terrace (reservation required).
For fish lovers, however, I can recommend the Strandimbiss Kneidl. Otherwise, my favorite restaurant is the "Seestüberl" in the wellness garden.

Great campsite on the lakeshore and close to town
We have been coming to this campsite for several years now. Small to large pitches, modern sanitary buildings. Edeka supermarket and Fritz Berger camping store on the site as well as a large restaurant with beer garden. Restaurant with beer garden (unfortunately the restaurant requires a reservation).... Access is easy, most pitches have water and waste water as well as electricity. Also for transit to the south not far from the highway. Motorhome disposal at the entrance, there are also 3 overnight pitches/pitches for overnight campers. Surfboard rental and school on site as well as agility area for dogs. The village is within walking distance. Good free WLan. Warning: Be careful in the fall, there are large oak trees that can dent your roof when the acorns fall, at least it will be a restless night when the pieces hit the roof.

Very poor quality pitches when it rains
We stayed at the campsite for 4 days at the end of April for the opening of our camping season. Unfortunately, it had rained before and during our stay, sometimes quite heavily. Probably not least due to the enormous size of the campsite, most of the pitches were very poorly drained. As a result, guests... who were on a grass pitch were sometimes unable to drive their camper vans onto their pitch properly. At the latest when they tried to drive onto the wedges to level the pitch, the wheels spun. Corresponding furrows in the grass should not make the situation any better for the following guests. Guests who - like us - had a pitch with a higher "soil content" (there had probably been grass there in the past) - stood in the mud for days. In fact, it was only possible to get into the caravan halfway clean with rubber boots. We had to carry our dog a few meters into the caravan.

Our conclusion about beach camping:
In good weather, it's a fantastic campsite in a great location with 2 super nice sanitary blocks. The private bathrooms are also very well equipped. The small supermarket and the BERGER camping store offer everything you need as a camper.

Finally, a word about the "Strandkurhaus" restaurant:
We had chosen the two most expensive dishes at the end of our "vacation" with the pike-perch fillet and the saddle of venison medallions (each just under €30). Even though the Strandkurhaus is run by Sebastian Schuhbeck, you shouldn't have any expectations. We, at least, have never eaten pike-perch that was so "rubbery" or venison medallions that were so tough. The side dishes were the simplest frozen products. Even though the service is nice and the location is great, we will visit other restaurants in the village next time.

Difficult to evaluate
So I think the place can certainly be very nice. Everything was closed for us. Supermarket empty. Restaurant closed. Playhouse for children closed. 2 bathhouses closed. Only the gym was open. So for us it was rather a very simple place and special features. This may be different at other times, but I have a completely different expectation of a Leading Camping site

Very good place
For new arrivals, there is a "waiting lane" on the right-hand side of the driveway where you can park your vehicle while you register. Different categories of pitches between 80 and 200m² are available. Electricity is included in the pitch fee on all pitches.
The campsite is very tidy, the lawns are... neatly mowed and the main roads are mostly asphalted.
We always found the 3 large sanitary buildings to be in top condition, very clean and always freshly cleaned.
Apart from a swimming pool, the site has everything a 5-star site should have. There is even a separate sunbathing area for dogs and their owners, with their own access to the lake where the 4-legged friends can go swimming.
The restaurant is good, the portions large enough, but a bit on the high end.
Due to the large trees, satellite reception is limited on some pitches. A mobile satellite system with a long cable is recommended.
All staff make every effort to accommodate guests' wishes as far as possible.
The prices for the pitches have risen again this year, but the price/performance ratio is still good.
Our conclusion: an absolutely recommendable site

Professional and friendly handling at check-in, generous waiting lane for caravans and motorhomes in front of the gate, large pitches, modernized and heated wash houses, direct access to the wonderful lake, good restaurant on the pitch, boat hire and fitness trail on the pitch, great lakeside lawn under shady trees, landscaped garden.

Pitches on grass can be soggy and difficult to drive on after long periods of rain, not all pitches are level, but sloping down to the path (use drive-on wedges), not all pitches have their own fresh water connection, WLAN only included for one device, supermarket without EC card payment!
Active camping vacation by the lake
We have been to the campsite in Waging several times and have always enjoyed it. This year we were just passing through and only stayed for one night, but we deliberately chose this campsite without making a reservation.

Friendly reception at check-in, professional and fast processing. There are a few... transit pitches in front of the barrier, but we opted for a pitch with a view of the lake. In the vacation season it is advisable to book in advance!

The pitches are on grass and are big enough for large caravans and camper vans. Not all pitches facing the lake are level, which is why the drive-on wedges have to be used. The paths are asphalted, some are bordered by hedges and some of the pitches are under tall trees.

Some of the pitches are occupied by permanent campers, but the majority are for tourists.

The site is well-kept and somewhat landscaped. New or modernized and heated wash houses with rental and family bathrooms complete the offer. Some Premium pitches have water and waste water connections.

The lake is beautiful and the campsite has its own spacious lake access with a pebble beach and non-swimmer area, as well as a sunbathing lawn under trees. Several steps and footbridges lead into the water. A boat rental is adjacent. The local restaurant is Bavarian original and there is a kiosk and snack bar by the lake in summer.

The WLAN is sufficient, but several devices have to be booked for a fee.

Active campers will get their money's worth here and families with children can also spend a great vacation here.

We can recommend Strandcamping Waging am See and will be happy to come again.

Waste disposal is divided into glass, leaves and residual waste. The CP still has a lot of room for improvement when it comes to the environment The quality of the sanitary blocks varies greatly. We had the wash house from the 70s near us, mind you, on the higher-priced pitches. The water runs and runs because the fittings are so old. The shower hoses are all garbage. It is cleaned, but you expect a lot more from a 5-star CP. Another shortcoming for a 5* CP at the larger campsites are the water connections, which are only available every 50m and not directly at the campsite. The CP's own SUP rental is cheap, but unfortunately only very inferior boards.
only good CP with some compromises
It was definitely a nice vacation, but we'll have to think about whether we'll visit a supposed 5-star campsite of this quality again.
Fortunately, there are many other places to try in the area.

Beach camping by the lake - good, but unfortunately not our thing
The campsite is in a good location, right on the lake. Getting there is easy and very feasible. There is a long access lane right at the entrance. Everything ran very professionally and smoothly at reception. The friendliness of the staff was perfect. The pitch we booked was large enough and clean. The... sanitary facilities were always clean and very well maintained. The infrastructure on and around the site is good. There are plenty of opportunities for leisure activities. Certainly a paradise for campers with children. Unfortunately, to our taste, the site is too big, restless and there are too many permanent campers. We had a good time, but would probably not book the site again. As we all know, tastes differ, so please make up your own mind. For us, however, the campsite is not a highlight and the bottom line is that we had a mediocre camping experience.
