"No go.... - We are super disappointed and not just us but also friends of ours who have had the same experience. It is simply unacceptable that a deposit of 160 euros is not offset. And you have to pay twice for the pitch if you leave early.

"Great campsite!!! - Super nice place, quiet location, grown facility, very well maintained! However, the sanitary facilities are a bit old and unfortunately it looks very used! There is no toilet paper in the toilets and no soap at the washbasins!

"The name is a promise - Beautiful park-like grounds with rich flora and fauna on a (cold) river with bathing opportunities in the Cannobina valley (approx. 3 km to Cannobio on a footpath along the river). Simple sanitary facilities, which can sometimes be overwhelmed during busy periods. Atmospheric restaurant / pizzeria inside and outside, with simple dishes. Some narrow access roads to the pitches. Very good store (seasonal variety), very friendly service.

"beautiful place - Very nicely laid out site. Cleanliness generally very good, only the floor in the wash house could have been mopped more often, but this was not a problem. The lighting in the wash house was a bit poor in places but not a problem. Right on the river, great for swimming if you're not afraid of cold water. The walk to the village is quite long though (at least 2 kilometers, although the nicer path is a bit longer and has an incline). We had a brief power cut, but this was dealt with immediately. The small supermarket on site is pretty good, you can get almost everything there. The restaurant on site has great pizzas at a very fair price. However, I found the charges for WiFi far too expensive. If you're not watching movies, mobile internet could be much cheaper. The site is not exactly cheap in other respects either, but given the location you can probably justifiably claim to get something for it. The crowd was quite pleasant. Lots of Dutch people, many with tents, hardly any motorhomes, no noisy youth groups or similar, no permanent campers.

"Quiet, beautiful campsite near Lake Maggiore - We spent a week of our Whitsun vacation on this beautiful site. Our arrival was a little late, but an email to the campsite soon brought the answer that we could arrive all night. There is a map at reception showing which of the free pitches are reserved; you can choose from the other free pitches. Registration then takes place the next day. Top! The site is beautifully laid out. Every corner has a shrub, tree or flower in bloom - it's lovely and beautifully maintained! There is a large flat area by the river with countless small and large stones. It's a great place to spend some time. However, it was still too cold for us to swim. In the evening there are often people who light a small fire there - it has a lovely atmosphere! The playground was in reasonably good condition and a nice place for our 4-year-old to play with other children. We liked the pool. The only thing we found outdated was the swimming cap requirement. And the water was still quite fresh in May... ;-) The restaurant makes good pizzas at reasonable prices. We often picked some up. The lady there was also really friendly! The store has the essentials. However, the prices are a little higher. But the nonna is a real sweetheart! The sanitary facilities are clearly outdated. The campsite could definitely use some of its hefty prices to do something about this. However, they were reasonably clean, so we didn't feel uncomfortable there. Cannobio is a good kilometer away. You can take a nice stroll along the promenade and eat a very good ice cream. We went on excursions to the Versasca Valley, as there is always a lot to discover there. We also took the Levana-Intra ferry to take the gondola up the mountain on the other side of the lake. Rarely have we been able to enjoy such an impressive panorama! A wonderful day trip! We would love to come back, as we will always have fond memories of the place!

"A little paradise - Camping Valle Romantica is a beautiful site, a little away from Cannobio in the valley. However, it is situated in such a way that it has direct sun for long periods. The pitches vary in size and are mostly laid out in alcoves. If you have a large caravan, it is advisable to call ahead and ask if there is still space available. The sanitary facilities are simple but clean. You have to bring your own toilet paper. Unfortunately there is no hand wash/soap in the washbasins. There is a simple pool on the site. The 3 different swimming areas in the river, which you can easily reach on foot, are great. Whether swimming, lazing around or cliff jumping, there is a leisure activity for everyone :o) We were only at the lake once (easily accessible by bike, off the road - even with children), after that our children only wanted to play in, around and with the river. The lake was boring :o). There is also table tennis and a beach volleyball court. The small store, right by the entrance, has a good range of products. The prices are normal to reasonable. The pizzeria on the square has a good price/performance ratio. The food and ambience at the "Vino Divino" osteria was great. We were there in July/early August. At that time, a good 90% of the guests came from Holland. There were many possibilities for excursions. Whether by boat or car, or simply on foot. It was never boring. Cannobio itself also offers many events.

Campsite, Resort Valle Romantica is similar to a botanical garden, thanks to it´s many bushes and plants, many rare, such as Azaleas and Camellias. Situated along the Cannobino River, and with a marvellous swimming pool. Just 1,5 km from the …town centre away, but easy to reach by a nice food path along the river. Same owner as Camping Riviera – since 1957 both !

At the end of the town of Cannobio, arriving from Switzerland from road SS34 along the lakeside, just before the gas station, take a right to "Valle Cannobina" and continue straight on for about 1 km. Just at the beginning …of the Valley, after the first curve the entrance of the campsite is already there. (attention: don´t turn onto the brigde to Traffiume, but straight on).
