The (unfortunately only) restaurant... on site offers good food at fair prices.
However, the prices in the supermarket are very high and the quality (especially of the vegetables and bread rolls) is poor. In addition, they don't have the full range of products every day, but sometimes one thing today and something else tomorrow.
But the many dogs - or rather their owners - who don't follow the rules and lie with their dogs on the actually dog-free section of the beach and take them onto the SUP are really bad. And then you come across the dog poo while swimming, so we left early. The pitches are nicely laid out, but that's where it ends. The price/performance ratio is not right. The taverna and beach bar advertised on the homepage is not available. When asked at reception, the answer was, "The boss knows about it, but... doesn't do anything". The restaurant was expensive and not comparable with the restaurants outside, plus the waitress deliberately ignored us and ended up ripping us off. The wash houses look nice from the outside but the showers are dirty and smelly. 11€ per night for a dog is also cheeky. The human costs €14.50.
Evening entertainment not really available either.
Except when paying, the staff at the reception seemed very listless. Unfortunately, no transfer is offered from the campsite to the larger towns.
The bus/taxi transfer offered is expensive and does not belong to the campsite.

We had one of the premium gravel pitches near the rear wash house. The sanitary facilities were clean, but even small defects such as broken towel rails in the showers were not repaired during our stay.
The restaurant... was good, prices reasonable and the staff very friendly.
The ladies at reception were also friendly, if a little undercooked.
The location close to the refinery and airport cannot be glossed over, but this is clear to everyone on maps before booking. The cultural offerings in the immediate vicinity are manageable, but the island itself offers plenty to see.
The beach bar, pool bar and bar were closed all the time, despite the pitches being almost full.

The dogs pee themselves on the non-dog beach and it stinks because it rarely rains. We parked our sun loungers by a tree and it stank terribly. We didn't want to leave our child sitting on the peed-up gravel. The dogs are even taken to the... pool and parked on the sun loungers. The sidewalks are full of smeared excrement. Cigarette butts everywhere on the beach. Power cuts every 20 minutes during the day for weeks on end. Only cold showers several times. If you get one after queuing for half an hour. 16 cabins for the whole site, a joke. Everything in the wash house is unkempt. You can hardly see anything in the mirrors. Some of the hairdryers don't work. Broken door locks or not there at all. Shelves and hooks missing, only holes left. A shower without light, you are completely in the dark. Floor extremely slippery when wet. Toilet bowls creak as if they are not screwed down. Soap dispenser constantly empty. It doesn't help that the very nice cleaning staff do their best. Nobody cares. Others have also complained and the reception manager just said: "Then go somewhere else!" That's how you do business, because every dog brings in extra money. Totally overbooked and therefore full. Barren landscape, but nicely laid out. Water very clean. You should be able to manage without an awning. Had a week of constant wind with gusts, couldn't pitch anything in the second row. What made us a little suspicious was the handing in of the travel or identity documents. You only get these back on the day of departure (must be changed, you can no longer identify yourself in Croatia)
The site is generally well laid out,... the Premium pitches are very large and equipped with water, waste water and electricity connections.
As it is still a young site, the tree cover is quite small. We did not use the pool area.
The restaurant at the entrance area and the beach restaurant a little further away are recommended (but also expensive).
We noticed some negative things:
Toilet paper is missing, you have to come up with something :-) or you want to have your chemical toilet cleaned at the vending machine (3€ invested) and when you open the vending machine blind you get the "sausage".
My daughter and I just wanted to play table tennis, when we asked when the table tennis table would be repaired (it must have been broken for some time), we were told: "Not at all, one possibility would be in the direction of Omisalj (10min)."
The repair backlog is far too high for a "young" campsite:
Mirrors defective, locks in the shower doors defective/missing, all doors "hanging/not adjusted"
We personally think that the campsite does not deserve 5 stars! Too bad actually!
Ps: All those who are in the 1-4 row should urgently take additional fastening material for the awning / awning, of 14 days 5 days were EXTREMELY windy (45km / h).

The access roads are narrow in places and pitching is a challenge and involves maneuvering back and forth. The hard ground on the pitch makes it almost impossible to hammer in pegs. Not atypical for Croatia, but it is challenging here.
The sanitary facilities... are modern and quite clean. On closer inspection/use, however, you soon realize that showers don't work, the toilet door can't be locked, soap dispensers and taps are stuck, etc.
Unfortunately, the small market has an unbalanced range and is only of limited use for everyday use. If you are not mobile and can shop outside, you will quickly reach the limits. However, you can get bread, cold cuts, cheese and drinks.
The restaurant on the square looks nice, but the prices are relatively expensive. The drinks in particular are in no way inferior to those in Germany/Switzerland.
All in all, this is a nice and good place and we would be happy to come back for a stopover. The staff were all very helpful and nice.
We noticed the following negative things:
Maintenance doesn't seem to be taken that seriously. Some of the tiles in the pool are falling off and have not been replaced. The doors in the sanitary facilities are sometimes difficult to open and the handles are all crooked and loose. There are no more shelves in the showers. And the foil on the outside showers is still being broken and has not yet been replaced with anything useful.
The bakery in the supermarket sells baked goods. Unfortunately, you can come almost whenever you want, there is hardly anything. It's more like a game of chance. The place was completely full in August and the same game every day. It's a shame that they don't just bake more here.
Otherwise, we liked it again and will be back. The fact that the nearest village is not within walking distance and that the pitch is very windy has already been written about and cannot improve in the future. We have now left earlier in 2021 because there was only storm in the forecast. The reception was very accommodating and we only had to pay for the days we were there. This is often not the case at other campsites. You often have to pay for the booked time no matter when you go.

The advantage of the upper pitches is that some of them have a sea view. The bathing bay is ideal for families with small children, but otherwise the view on the beach or in the first row is directed towards the mobile homes opposite or the large oil refineries on the other side. So not really inviting. The aircraft noise is not exactly pleasant either. Unfortunately, the village of Omisalj is not inviting either, there is absolutely nothing on offer here.

There are also very few parasols and sun loungers by the water. When we asked at reception whether we could rent a parasol or where we could buy one, we were only put off with a smile that was not taken seriously at all. Background: We were there with a 2-man tent and we couldn't put up our sunshade because the ground was hard stone and there were no trees to which we could have attached it. Another disadvantage: you feel like you're in a dredging hole and you're looking directly at the refinery opposite. There was a very impersonal and strange atmosphere on the pitch. Something we are not at all used to at Croatian campsites! Unfortunately, the site is so far away from everything that you can only get to the nearest small town by car. We spent a whole 2 hours on the site (checked in, chose our pitch on foot, tried to put up the awning, walked back to reception to ask for a parasol, walked to the small store (even they didn't have a parasol!!), packed up the car again and back to reception to check out) For these 2 hours we had to pay sann koch 61 euros!!!! A cheek!!! So for us this place failed completely! MORE PRETENSE THAN REALITY!Very disappointedMORE APPEARANCE THAN REALITY!!!
