Good place
The campsite is outside the town. Quiet location, good sanitary facilities, large pitches. Free W-Lan. Alta itself has little to offer, a small shopping center, a few restaurants. If you use Alta as a starting point for hikes or trips to the far north, this is the right campsite for you.

Beautiful place right on the lake
We stayed here for a day with the motorhome in July 2019. Great location right on the lake. We really liked the place. Everything available and not expensive. Particularly suitable as a stopover on the way to the mountains.

... without ups and downs. Sanitary facilities good and very clean. (3 toilets + 2 showers for men). Well equipped kitchen. Pitch not parceled out. Ground softened when it rains. Friendly operator. Price: 25,50 € for car+caravan+2 persons+dog+shower without electricity

Well-kept place one day's drive from Nordkapp
We stayed at this campsite for a few days in mid-June 2018 during our tour to Nordkapp. We received a very friendly welcome from the staff. The sanitary facilities are very clean. You could choose your own pitch. Chemical emptying is available. Washing machine and dryer cost extra. At the pitches facing... the river, it was very noisy at night due to moving boats. The road was also being rebuilt at the time, which caused additional noise during the day. But that's not the campsite operator's fault! Worth seeing in Alta is the Northern Lights Cathedral with the Northern Lights Museum in the basement and the Alta Museum with old rock paintings. Shopping facilities are available in Alta!

Very well-kept and quiet campsite
Were from 22.05-24.05.2016 on this campsite and we were received very nice, even in a very good German (which would not have been necessary). The site is in immaculate condition! The staff is extremely friendly and the stay was very relaxing!

The place is an unkempt meadow, with bushes as a border, sanitary is OK, kitchen + cooking facilities very good, staff very polite and helpful!!!

That fits...
... Everything together here. Stayed here from July 08 to 10, 2015. Very well-kept sanitary building and it was always clean at all the times I used it. Wooden decking is available on many pitches and there are also various pieces of wood underneath to prevent sinking into the soft ground. This is certainly... due to the geographical location and the weather (we had 16 degrees on the first day and up to 20 degrees on the second in sunshine/partly cloudy). Electricity is available on most pitches. The WLAN is free - but that's it... The reception is always very friendly and helpful. The washing machine (one and a dryer) are included and you get a key for the time of use. Whether 60 NOK for one use of the washing machine or dryer is reasonable is up to you. I particularly like the fact that you specify how many washes you need and pay for them. However, the machines work without tokens, chips or other control options, i.e. you are still trusted here! The location on a river is very suitable for both fishing and boat trips. The distance to Alta (which itself stretches a long way) is only 6 km (center). In addition to the impressions of nature (e.g. the fjord), the museum and especially the rock carvings are highly recommended. This impressed us. The place also impresses with its very quiet public. I have rarely spent such a quiet time on a campsite in Scandinavia in the last 18 days. Of course, even here at this time of year, you'll still be annoyed by winged ghosts. Summary: If you come to Alta, this site is the best choice.

Wisloeff Camping is one of the best campsites in Northern Norway. No parceled out pitches. Very clean sanitary facilities. A little small when fully occupied. Free W-LAN. Unfortunately not everywhere on the site.

We stayed here on our way through to Nordkapp. Very friendly operators, sanitary and kitchen very clean and furnished with a lot of love, because it was so nice, we camped here for another 3 days on the way back from Nordkapp.
