"a very nice campsite - The campsite is located directly on the lake, just outside Bolsena. The sanitary facilities are clean and well maintained and the hot water is free. The restaurant on site exceeds expectations. The food is very tasty and there is even German beer on tap. The reception speaks German and is very friendly. The pitches are different sizes and have different prices. The pitch by the lake is relatively expensive despite the Campingcard, but if you appreciate the view of the lake, you'll be happy to spend the money. The site is well run and clean.

"Familiar CP with good location and attractive facilities - We stayed at the CP for a few days in July, 3 families with 3 motorhomes. A quick call beforehand to clarify whether there were any free pitches was enough. Very friendly operators who can also make themselves understood in German, the owner is German by birth. Very well-kept sanitary facilities, the restaurant on site offers a small menu that sounds very good, but we didn't try it. There are 2 agriturismi in the area where you can buy fruit and vegetables, in Bolsena (15 minutes by bike) you can buy everything else. Tip: Agroturismo Girasole offers great food in the evening. The lake was refreshing and clean. The only drawback: the power supply at the campsite is weak, more than one electrical appliance cannot run (e.g. fridge and hotplate did not work at the same time), which was annoying when cooking.

"Place directly on the lake - It is a very small, family-run site with many German guests who have been coming here for years. The trees provide plenty of shade even on hot days. The highlight is the beach, which is cleaned of plant debris every morning. There is also a little shade on the beach. The water is ideal for sailing and surfing. There are many catamaran sailors on the site. There is almost always wind from the afternoon onwards. The restaurant has a good kitchen with a small but fine menu.

"Bolsena - We spent three weeks at Lago di Bolsena this year. Nice place with a good little restaurant. The sanitary facilities are excellent and clean. You can get to Bolsena quickly by bike or car for the market, shopping or ice cream ;)

" - Nice little place under German management, unfortunately only 3 A protection. German was also spoken in the restaurant (2012).

Navodila

Arrival from Germany and Austria You will reach "Bella Italia" either on the traditional route from Austria via Brennero or from Switzerland (Gotthard- or San Bernadino Pass). Please do not forget to take your passport and international car insurance documents …with you If you enter Italy from the direction of Switzerland we recommend to choose the route via Milan (Milano) to Bologna. Coming from the Brennero you will pass Trento, Modena and Bologna. Then, your journey will lead over Florence (Firenze) to Orvieto. From the exit of the motorway just follow the signs Bolsena/Lago di Bolsena up to a roundabout in Orvieto. Leave this roundabout in South-Western direction to Viterbo, Roma, Montefiascone. After a couple of kilometres you will underrun an ancient stone aqueduct. Shortly after the road is taking almost a right-angled turn to the left in the direction of Bolsena. The route is signed, however, is not easily to be found. After having crossed a bridge you will slowly but steadily reach in reinforced serpentines a volcanic peak. Enjoy this unique view of the town of Orvieto and its dome before you continue the road along the rim of the vulcano lined with wonderful pine trees. After some kilometres you will reach the junction "Bolsena" leading down into the crater. Further on, a small parking lane on the left side invites you stop for a while. You will enjoy the view of the Lago and the town with the same name. Here you will get a first impression of the size and situation of the lake. Following the serpentines downhill you will come to Bolsena. Crossing the market place you will reach the highway, the ancient Via Cassia. Take a right turn on the street light at the South of the market into the Via Cassia and follow it along the lake westwards. Soon you will see the signs of MASSIMO Camping + Apartments and San Lorenzo Nuovo. After approx. 3,5 kilometres the street leads away from the lake at the "Camping Cappelletta". From here it is only 100 meters before you may take a left turn to MASSIMO Camping + Apartments. Please do not forget to set the indicator!
