- Gafner H.September 2023PozitivnoPeace and quiet large pitches proximity to the LoireNegativnoThe rain :-) actually there was nothing negative from the coursePeaceful, inexpensive and a good starting pointWe made a stopover to visit the Loire castles. You can also get to some of them by bike. Chambord is a must! The town of Blois is also worth a visit.
It's also ideal with a dog, as you can walk along the Loire right from the campsite. We found it ideal there!Samodejno prevedeno. - Burkhard M.September 2022PozitivnoLarge standsNegativnoIn September, access to the site only during certain times; not at all on Sundays.Nice place near ChambordThe square is part of an area that serves the leisure time of local residents with a sports field etc. It is separated by fences. It is separated by fences; in particular, the gate for the access road can only be opened if the code for entry and exit is known. The same applies to the sanitary facilities.... During our stay in mid-September, two food trucks including simple seating were set up in front of the site, where you could get and consume a snack and drinks: Great atmosphere in the evening!
In September, the site itself was only accessible for check-in during reception opening hours and not at all on Sundays.
There are no parceled-out pitches; you choose a nice spot. Electricity, water and waste disposal are available.
We used the site as a starting point for cycle tours, e.g. to Chambord.
All in all, a pleasant stay once you have checked in.Samodejno prevedeno. - Christian S.August 2017PozitivnoClean, friendly, lots of spaceNegativnononeNice place, very friendly reception, ideal for sightseeing/intermediate stops. We spent two nights on the site (outward and return journey) to the Atlantic coast. The reception is very friendly, the site is beautifully situated and very large. The sanitary facilities are simple and dated, but clean! Highly recommended for sightseeing or a stopover.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Doreen P.July 2017PozitivnoEnvironment and cultureNegativno-poor sanitary facilities -no bread roll service - noisy, as close to the cityVery simple, but friendlyFor a short stay to visit the castles, it is pleasant and inexpensive. There are no marked out pitches, but there is plenty of electricity. The sanitary facilities are rather short. Dark, draughty and rather unkempt, as they are outdated. But the surroundings on the Loire and various castles make up... for everything. The site is very suitable for groups. The meadows are huge and there are hiking seating areas for those without a chair and table. So, great surroundings but for the undemanding and those passing through.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Lorenz P.July 2017PozitivnoFavorable price/performance ratio, clean sanitary facilities, friendly staffNegativnononeBeautiful & inexpensive placeWe only spent one night here. You get the impression of being in a park. There are no pitches and we had free choice of pitch. Staff are very friendly and speak English. Sanitary facilities could do with renovation but are clean and constantly cleaned. Electricity and water were available on site. Very beautifully situated on the Loire.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Familie S.August 2016PozitivnoGood value Great location on the river Unparceled & tree shade Children's playground next to CPNegativnoLittle infrastructure in the villageBeautiful and inexpensiveWe were only there for 3 nights, but we were completely thrilled. The sanitary facilities are very basic, but I thought they were nice and clean. As we had a pitch right next to the Loire, we were able to watch great sunsets. You can also splash around in the river, although swimming is forbidden, but... many French people were also swimming there. We went to Chambord by bike with our children (5 & 8), which was no problem and the castle is great! One drawback: there is no longer a boulanger in the village, so no fresh baguette in the morning. But the small restaurant next to the campsite is great; reservations are recommended.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Eckard B.August 2016PozitivnoUncomplicated administration, very cheap. Great pizza and burger place in town from 18:00Negativno-Super placeVery nice uncomplicated place directly on the Loire, ideal for visiting Chambord, e.g. by bike (12 km). We arrived around 18:00 and had a free choice of pitches. We could plug in our power supply wherever we wanted. I explained to the operator that we would like to visit Chambord the following day and possibly only continue in the afternoon, he said: "No problem, as long as we leave the site by 7pm."Samodejno prevedeno.
- Jürgen Z.August 2015PozitivnoBeautiful location, quiet, lots of space, friendly staff, low costsNegativnoI don't know anySurprisingly nice starting point for sightseeing etc.We had actually chosen the other site in the village, which was rated very highly in camping guides, but left there after the first night because of the noise and the exorbitant prices (see review of the site). Here the Camping Municipal was the pleasant opposite: quiet, simple but perfectly functioning... and clean sanitary facilities, very friendly staff, lots of space on the non-parceled site. We had chosen a pitch that was pleasantly shaded by a large tree at lunchtime and had a beautiful view of the Loire. As there are stores and restaurants just a few hundred meters away in the village, there is no shortage of these facilities on the site, especially as the bread (etc) from the bakery is almost always much better than in the campsite store, especially in France.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Heike H.August 2013Large unparceled meadow area on the Loire (swimming in the Loire is prohibited). Very reasonably priced pitch with free WiFi. Very well equipped for cyclists on the Loire cycle path (there are wooden tables and benches on the pitch and a covered seating area on the first floor of the sanitary building.... The bakery in the village is highly recommended, the baguette/pain is simply delicious. The only thing that bothered me about this site were the dingy sanitary facilities - although the surface is cleaned several times a day (floor mopped and chlorine tablets placed in the showers), the walls are forgotten and the joints are moldy. I found it simply disgusting, but we stayed there for a week because everything else was perfect: the opportunities for cycling on the Loire cycle path or the "Chateau á velo" paths (so the castles of Chambord, Blois and Cheverny are within cycling distance)Samodejno prevedeno.
- Maranda S.July 2013This was our "Plan B" campsite as an alternative to a rather pricey 4-star place nearby. When that place feel through due to cost and loud, party atmosphere, we arrived to find this municipal site quiet and peaceful and CHEAP. I think we paid something like 25 Euros for 4 adults and one child. We got... a site right next to the river and spent our mornings and evenings looking out over the Loire while eating and drinking. Bathrooms are clean with free hot showers. Site lies at the intersection of several Loire bike paths, so there are limitless opportunities to bike and see the chateaux and sample wine. You can walk and get fresh bread in the morning. Wifi worked great. Staff was extremely helpful in all aspects. This site is not for you if you require: 1. a large entertainment program for yourself or for your kids 2. onsite restaurants, wellness center, or whirlpool This site is for you if you are happy with: 1. large, grassy sites in a natural setting 2. making your own travel arrangements and organizing your own activities We absolutely loved this site and would definitely go back. As a whole, we find French municipal sites to be a great value; and we will continue to frequent them whenever possible.
