Peter H.May 2023PozitivnoQuiet location, very clean, sanitary facilities at their best, friendly campsite warden - the best possible relaxation!NegativnoNo real disadvantages! High altitude - there is an incline to overcome on the approach, but on a smooth road (no gravel or similar). This should be taken into account when planning - but should not be an obstacle!quiet, clean, friendly - highly recommended!The 10% gradient to be overcome was already announced in the campsite description. However, it is only a few 100m steep - this is also manageable for middle-aged campers without an e-bike. Check the map beforehand!
The campsite is right next to the outdoor pool (registration there too, as far as I remember),... there is lots of greenery everywhere, the paths and pitches are very well maintained, showers were free (at least in 2023), the sanitary facilities were first class, bright and clean.
Checking in and out was easy, the tent warden was nice, the location was quiet (you can probably hear the outdoor pool - but that's part of the vacation!), and the fees were inexpensive!

The public utilities employee was very nice. There is also supposed to be a bus connection to Meiningen, which I didn't use, but I believe the employee. There is a swimming pool with a restaurant nearby.

Roger B.July 2019PozitivnoSmall, clean and friendly!Small fine placeA small site with 26 pitches surrounded by greenery and beautifully laid out plots. Everything you need is on the pitch. Electricity, water, waste disposal. It is 20 minutes downhill to the town of Meiningen. Back with a 15% incline uphill. I did it twice by bike. The third time I preferred to take the... bus which runs regularly. Nice staff at the campsite who are happy to help if you have any questions. Toilets are clean and showering does not require shower tokens. You can enter the sanitary building with a chip card. And there is really good three-day toilet paper! WLAN is available free of charge and reception on my pitch was very weak. Not at all on the mobile! But LTE is quite fast here and my cell phone was a hotspot! A very nice swimming pool is right next to the campsite and costs €2 for camping guests. Bread roll service is offered. I was very satisfied and will gladly come back again!Samodejno prevedeno.

We were not the last time there.Samodejno prevedeno.- Jörg H.April 2019Pozitivnovery friendly clean Bread roll serviceSmall but mightyA small CP on the outskirts of Meiningen, not far from the highway. Situated somewhat on a slope but the parceled pitches (25) are nevertheless straight and well-kept. Certainly newly built with the neighboring leisure center a few years ago. The sanitary building has everything a camper needs (WC, shower,... washing facilities, iron, ironing board, clothes horse inside and outside, dishwashing room with stove, microwave, fridge) - all included in the price. There is also a washing machine, tumble dryer and coffee machine available for a fee. The sanitary facilities are modern, clean and well maintained. There is only electricity (CEE) at the pitch. Water taps are available at the sanitary building and at reception. Shopping facilities are not a problem due to the proximity to the town. There is a restaurant in the leisure center next door, or in Meiningen. The reception is not always manned, but the staff at the leisure center are also competent contacts for the CP. And they are all very friendly. Special mention should be made of the bread roll service that delivers to the pitch. A good starting point for hiking in the Thuringian Forest. Conclusion: Highly recommended - we'd love to come again p.s. The information on camping.info should be updated or supplemented.Samodejno prevedeno.

The site is situated at the top of the hill and the pitches are laid out in terraces. The sanitary facilities are sufficient in number, always clean and always in working order. The site is located above the town. Some of the terraced pitches offer a view of the town and surrounding area. A swimming pool with sauna and restaurant are part of the leisure center. The groundsman is very friendly and offers a bread roll service. There is no store. From Meiningen you can go on very nice bike tours on the Werratal cycle path. Wolfgang# R.September 2015PozitivnoLocation, cleanliness, friendliness, leisure facilitiesA beautiful place :-)A rather small campsite on a hill next to an outdoor pool. Nicely parceled out, laid out on different levels with a slight slope. The firm subsoil with gravel covering on the pitches ensures cleanliness even in bad weather. The sanitary building is extremely clean and well ventilated. The only thing... I could imagine (for the men) is that a sitting toilet would be more appropriate at peak times. Pleasant bread roll service has already been mentioned, the friendliness is exemplary and makes for a pleasant vacation atmosphere. The proximity to the outdoor pool (free for campers) is great, especially in good weather. You can just go for a quick swim in your swimwear. Meinigen itself is easy to reach. There is a bus from the campsite and it is only a 25-minute walk to the town center. The 70 meters in altitude also ensure that you don't freeze when you return to the campsite :-) Hikes, bike tours, cultural activities - you won't get bored here. The site is very clean and there is a leisure pool next door, so ideal for families or swimmers. It was very quiet on the site and it was great to go for a walk with the dog. The sanitary facilities and the camping kitchen with ceramic hob for... cooking, fridge and microwave were very clean. The campsite is on a hill, so cyclists came back in the evening completely exhausted. Helmut S.October 20131. it should read: Rohrer Stirn (not "Stein"!) 2. the location and sanitary facilities are absolutely well thought out and excellently designed. 2. the cleanliness and management are remarkable. 3. the friendliness, courtesy and professional competence of Mr. Bauersachs leaves nothing to be desired.... 4. you can feel at home there, because the cultural offerings of Meiningen (not only the excellent Meiningen Theater) constantly offer highlights. 5. we have been to many places in Germany and Europe, but this is the best one we have been to so far!
