We got the pitch we had booked for our caravan directly behind the dunes. At the beginning of September, the pitches were 50 percent full, mainly with motorhomes. There was hardly any entertainment. The pool... was 30 degrees and was only used sparingly by the guests. Bread and things for daily use can be bought at the small supermarket outside the campsite. All in all, a lovely place and we will be back.....Samodejno prevedeno.

The sanitary facilities were renovated some time ago, but there are far too few toilets and showers for the number of guests and the sanitary facilities are cleaned too rarely and not thoroughly enough. There were constantly dirty toilets and overflowing buckets of toiletries.... There was always enough staff on site, except that there were five of them standing by the pool as entertainers rather than ensuring the toilets were clean. Accepts the ACSI Card in the low season with two different discounts (forest or sunny pitch). Very nice reception. You can order bread for the next morning in the small supermarket at the campsite. Due to the very large pitches, the lack of boundaries and the low tree cover in the area close to the beach, the site feels very open and spacious. As many of the pitches are in the sand, it is explicitly pointed out (in a friendly... manner) at reception that no towing assistance is offered and that this must be arranged by a local towing company. The fact that the wind is always blowing on Noirmoutier naturally has an effect on the pitch itself, on cycling, but also on sunbathing on the beautiful beach (sand blasting!). The sanitary facilities were clean but not enough, but not a big problem in the low season. The rental tents/tepees and tents on offer there fit in nicely with the open overall picture. There is a small supermarket right next to the site for daily shopping. As on the Ille de Re, Noirmoutier is also a great place for cycling excursions, e.g. Noirmoutier town. However, the "Plage des Dames" beach advertised in the travel guides is more of a joke. I personally liked the place.Samodejno prevedeno.

Very spacious pitches and beautiful grounds. Not every millimeter is used for pitches, there are also plants in between. Pitches on a hill in the forest or in front on the sand (be careful with motorhomes or support wheel caravans; there are several stuck in the... sand). Very friendly and helpful staff. However, the sanitary facilities are far from 4 stars, they are not cleaned regularly, soap and toilet paper are not available, male and female toilets are not separated. There are children's toilets and children's washbasins. There is also a nice swimming pool, partly covered and partly outdoors with loungers for relaxing. The snack bar closed at the end of August and 3 of the 5 wash houses were also closed. There are also playgrounds and a bouncy castle, which was dismantled early but was rebuilt at our request. There is a small casino supermarket next to the campsite and the U Express in the village is also within walking distance. There is also a petrol station, a pharmacy, a market once a week, bakeries and not much else.Samodejno prevedeno.

The location itself is good, but the village of Barbatre offers nothing special. Due to its location in the dunes, some of the pitches are very sandy and uneven. The wooded part is occupied by a number of rental accommodations. We managed to reserve... an appropriately sized pitch, but we were there at the end of August and beginning of September and the pitch was only half full. The staff didn't seem particularly motivated (perhaps because of the late season). There are two sanitary blocks with rather modest facilities and a one-off (per day) cleaning service in the morning. After a week, one of the houses was closed - probably due to low occupancy. We didn't use the entertainment, preferring the sea to the (decent) swimming pool. At the open-air bar (covered and open) you can eat snacks or have a drink at the counter or at tables. The store (casino) in front of the campsite has everything you need, but the bakeries in nearby Barbatre have better baked goods. Good restaurants can be found in Noirmoutier and L'Herbaudiere. The island of Noirmoutier is very suitable for cycling, hiking and relaxing, and the flooding of the D948 at high tide (when the rising water shoots over the road like a river) is a special spectacle.Samodejno prevedeno.

This did not seem to be an isolated case. The organization, the cleaning work and the animation is apparently carried out by a team of students.... The sanitary facilities would be happy to be renovated (or rather rebuilt). No amount of cleaning will help. The campsite has a forest area and a dune area. There are also nice permanent huts (including huge Indian tipis) to rent in both. It is quite noisy from 19:00 to 23:00 right next to the entertainment area. The campsite has a nice large swimming pool and a large covered paddling pool for children. You can do quite a lot on the island by bike, which can also be hired directly on site. There are only a few restaurants in the village (a classic French bar, a restaurant (Arthur), a bar and a restaurant). Bar, a restaurant (Arthur), a creperie and a tiny pizzeria).Samodejno prevedeno.
Harald B.July 2014PozitivnoLocated directly on the beautiful sandy beach.NegativnoEither 100 % shade or 100 % sun.Large pitch directly on the sandy beachSplit into two parts, one half in the forest, one half close to the beach with no shade. The fine sandy, gently sloping beach is absolutely perfect, regardless of the tide, although it is unguarded (problematic for children or inexperienced swimmers). However, this is a problem for the users, not the... campsite. The small store in front of the campsite offers everything for daily needs at acceptable prices. Larger supermarkets are easy to reach by car. The sanitary facilities are not separated into male and female, which can be a problem for some. Cleaning only once early in the morning around 08:30h, two hours later everything "messed up" again by the guests. A second cleaning wouldn't hurt. A lot of rental accommodation, at first glance (more was not possible) quite inviting. The swimming pool on the site is very clean and well maintained, and is also supervised. The regular entertainment is a matter of taste, but was always very well attended and not noisy. There is also a small snack bar with a take-away counter, with the usual prices for the region. Another important tip: Even when making a reservation (also stating the size of the caravan), inspect the pitch before continuing your journey.Samodejno prevedeno.- jacques b.August 2011this year change of formula catastrophe !!!! incompetent reception staff quickly overwhelmed and narrow-minded this campsite is looking for the 4th star but is not up to the level of the third (there's a lot of grumbling in the aisles) campsite not to be recommended I personally won't be coming back.Samodejno prevedeno.
