We camped there for the first time with our large house tent and found it very suitable.
As Germans, we wanted just such a place with "Dutch flair", but just after the border in beautiful surroundings. You can get that here too.
The Obelink store is not far away,... so you can quickly buy anything you might need at the beginning. We also found the city center of Winterswijk worth seeing and really enjoyed the vacation overall!
The disadvantages mentioned are manageable and understandable when you consider the size of the campsite.

Thomas K.March 2019Pitch usedWe were guests at the campsite this weekend for a visit from the camping outfitter Obelink, who kindly granted us access to the site as a pitch with electricity only during the winter season. There is no service and the sanitary facilities are closed. You can spend the night there for a fee on a trust... basis (pay for people and electricity yourself, deposit money in the letterbox). A great gesture. The grounds are well maintained and the pitches are large enough. The very good WLAN should be emphasized, even in winter. The reception was very friendly, although the reception was actually closed. The location and the site itself are rather quiet. The sanitary facilities were clean and appropriate for the category. Located directly on the lake, you can go for a nice walk. You have to walk a bit to the actual bathing lake. With small children, this can be exhausting. Showers and hot water are only available for a fee.... Hot water for rinsing €0.10 and shower token €0.50. The shower token is easily enough for two! And the lake guests don't have to shower with us and take hot water with them.
I hope you have now understood why we work with money or shower tokens.
It is true that we do not have a small store. Because we are 2 km away from the city center. And there are enough shopping facilities there.

The operators are very nice! The campsite is rather quiet and not suitable for groups who are into Halli Galli. A good night's sleep means a good night's sleep here! The lake is within walking distance, as is the center of Winterswijk. If you like peace... and quiet and don't want to be disturbed by noisy kids, you'll find your place here! After one night and a visit to Obelink, we decided to leave because we didn't like it at all. The drive to the campsite along a dirt road littered with potholes was an adventure in itself. The campsite was open for the first day on Good Friday and unfortunately... it had been raining for days beforehand. Now we were allocated a pitch that had apparently previously been occupied by a long-term camper with an awning floor. In other words, we had to park the caravan in a huge muddy field and there was nothing but mud in front of the caravan. Unfortunately, the campsite only has paved roads on the main paths; the side paths had already been completely plowed over by campers arriving in the rain. The adjacent lake has an unpaved (also muddy) footpath, which was very littered. In addition to garbage, we also found old fishing chairs in the bushes and all in all the area made an unkempt impression. The site operator was nice and the price for the pitch was also reasonable at €18 for 2 people with a dog. The sanitary facilities are outdated and you have to pay extra for hot water everywhere. All in all, we were so fed up with the muddy conditions that after one night and a visit to Obelink, 3km away, we broke off and looked for another pitch.Samodejno prevedeno.- Frederik W.April 2015Pozitivno- Quiet location directly on the lake. - Bread roll service. - Not a mega park. So quite quiet and informal.Negativno- Sanitary building (age, hot water, brightness)Quiet little place without frills.We were there over the Easter weekend and chose the site as our base camp for Obelink shopping. Obelink is 5 minutes away by car. Supermarkets (Jumbo, Lidl, AH etc) all nearby. The pitch is divided into fields. The small hedges (about 1.50m high) are exactly as shown on the site plan. Each pitch has... its own power connection. The paths to the pitches are not the widest, but they are wide enough. The reception was friendly. Please note that the reception is closed at lunchtime. Access to the campsite (barrier) is possible by car between 6:00 and 22:00. We were lucky enough to have a pitch with a view of the lake. There is a hiking trail between the lake and the campsite. When we were there, however, it was not very busy. It might be different in summer. There are a few places for anglers. Paper/cardboard, plastic etc. can be put in the appropriate containers at any time. Only residual waste can be deposited twice a day at certain times. The sanitary facilities were clean, but very poorly lit. So it does make a somewhat dingy impression. Hot water is available for shower coins. One coin (50 cents) is easily enough for a shower. Washing your hands with warm water costs 10 cents. This is probably also due to the location by the lake, as in principle anyone can enter the wash house. The shower heads could be replaced. Very wide jet and low water pressure. Showering a child is a bit difficult. There is a separate room with a baby shower for very small children. The wash house was pleasantly heated. Outside the house there is a sink (only cold water or a tap for hot water), a source of drinking water, a sink and the sink for the chemical toilets. We did not use the washing machine. Please note: The site is no longer an ACSI member. But has a different discount card. There are two ways to the site from the main road. Unfortunately, we took the less attractive route. About 1km very narrow dirt road with many potholes. It's best to have a quick look at Google Earth beforehand to see where you're coming from. We would come again because of the location. However, we need more comfort in the sanitary facilities. Especially with a child.Samodejno prevedeno.

It is annoying that you have to pay extra for every drop of hot water - washing up, washing hands etc. is only possible if you have enough change in your pocket.
