Price performance absolutely not guaranteed!!! We had to pay the full amount for our vacation in August already in June. On request by email how it behaves with corona regarding cancellation etc. No answer received! No answer received! Price for pitch which is supposed to be comfort but which is in the... last corner of the camping site paid 750 euros per week! Ok we thought 5 stars there you will also get something for your money! If you need info there is only the reception with 2 people because the place is so huge but there are always huge queues of people in front of it! So you don't need to queue there for simple information! At Corona times like now you are also on your own here! No information no help for testing because of the departure to Germany you get a piece of paper in your hand with pharmacies and you can then take care of it yourself! Here I expect support from a 5 star campsite! English is hardly spoken, everything is only in French! ANIMATION etc..no English! But the worst thing is the sanitary facilities, I don't know if they have ever been cleaned properly? Sometimes you see a person walking around with a spray and that's it! Hair hanging everywhere, sometimes for days, doors and washbasins covered in stuff, I don't want to know what it is, the same dirt on doors and taps for days! Male and female not really separated and the top hammer there is no sink and soap in the toilet! You have to wash your hands in the sink for dishes or laundry or go into the cabin but there is no soap there either!!! The rest areas in France have more comfort!!! Sure pool and beach are great! But everything else never and never 5 stars sanitary facilities have no 2 stars !!! Very annoying if you pay 1500 euros for 2 weeks for a poppy pitch even without sat and without water supply!!! And otherwise not even standard things like clean sanitary facilities information etc.gets!!!!

In my opinion, this is not a campsite but rather a vacation village as there are only mobile homes in about 95% of the pitches, and in between there are a few free pitches where you can camp or pitch a tent. We chose this place because we thought our children would go to the pool more often, but it was... not so, especially since it was always very crowded there and on the other hand the beach and the Atlantic is so MEGA TOLL. The only point of criticism: the sanitary facilities were cleaned regularly but unfortunately only very superficially.

Unfortunately only a fun pool, no swimming pool and bathing area on the beach too narrow - otherwise very good very good to endure in the heat because of the pine forest

5 stars, where are they? Overall io the place but certainly no 5 stars...
We were back at Le Vieux Port after 9 years (back then in a mobile home). As then, again with a group (4 families with children aged between 7 and 15). 2 x with a large caravan and 2 families in mobile homes (Koko / Holland). First of all, the mobile homes were in the orange area and were very clean... and comfortable. There is not much negative to say about the pitches that we also had in the orange area (next to each other nos. 76 and 77). However, they were not very clean when we arrived. The size was reasonable (approx. 80 m²), no more and no less. I'll keep it short: For a 5 star campsite (who awards them????), the supermarket was too small (for the size of the site) and far too expensive, the showers too lukewarm (despite the regulator), the toilets too dirty (only cleaned once a day), the pitches too small and not clean enough, the distances to the garbage cans (there is only one place outside the campsite to dispose of garbage) too far, the food on offer too average, the friendliness not always there, etc. We were also disappointed by the fact that the campsite was too small and not clean enough. What also disappointed us was that there was no longer a train to the beach (9 years ago there still was). In this respect, the daily walk to and from the beach (especially for those with physical disabilities) was very difficult. A tip for anyone who wants to do their shopping at a cheaper price: go to Leclerc in Soustons (10 km). Prices there are about the same as in Real, but there's a great range including a good fish counter. The Super-U directly in front of the square is also ok, but also relatively expensive. For all those who don't need anything around it (e.g. strolling in typical tourist villages like Biarritz) and are satisfied with what the campsite has to offer (which, admittedly, is really a lot, but in my opinion the quality doesn't always match the standard), you can just about recommend the campsite, but it's miles away from 5 stars. I think Camping Salou in Spain is closer (we were there with the same guests in 2013)...

This site doesn't fit our camper profile at all. We were forced to spend a day/night there because all the other sites in the area were full. 1600 units ----> approx. 5000 people, if you like it ... The reception is like a national railroad travel agency (at least 5 counters, but still long waiting times.)... There are several restaurants, a city-level supermarket, endless entertainment, a huge pool area (why go to the Atlantic then?). You then walk to the (great) beach in rows of two on an asphalted path over the dune. Here it is as crowded as in an open-air swimming pool in a big city, as only about 20m of the beach was open for swimming (dangerous current!). The highlight then came at 9:30 in the morning for a late breakfast: 10 m from the breakfast table, a road sweeper thunders past, 10 m further on, the exercise area is being worked on with a leaf vacuum ... The mood didn't get any better after paying: €70 for one night for 2 people, car and Eriba-Pan.

Light and shade and no 5 star standard. We would give it a maximum of 3 stars. We were there as a couple with 3 children 12,12 and 15 during the summer vacation. Despite the high price, we had booked the place because of the advertised water landscape and for the children. The reception is friendly,... but on the typical arrival days there were very long queues. Pitch The caravan pitch allocated to us, like the entire campsite, is located in a pine forest and the ground is generally a mixture of sand, earth and pine needles and not level. One supply column (electricity and fresh water) must be enough for 6 pitches. Infrastructure on the pitch Two sockets on our column were charred. Gardena connections can be attached to the taps. You will look in vain for sewers and general drainage. This means that our awning was 10 cm under water each time during two nightly thunderstorms. Service water can be disposed of at the sanitary blocks or as most people did. Let it sack up. The sanitary blocks are all the same and technically and visually in order. What bothered us were the flushing facilities directly adjacent to the toilets. Cleanliness is a no-go. Here we give the site an unsatisfactory rating. Every sanitary block is (supposedly) completely cleaned between 6-8 am. In the afternoon we saw a cleaner again, who wiped through with a wet feudel. We don't want to describe any further what the sanitary facilities looked and smelled like. Toilet paper, for example, was not to be found in the house we used several times after 5 pm and was only replenished the next morning. The showers and washbasin cabins are locked from 0:00-6:00. From 5pm you have to queue at the shower cubicles and wait. For a campsite with approx. 5000 guests, the sanitary facilities and cleanliness are absolutely inadequate. Bathing area The bathing area is okay, but not nearly as big as you would expect. You are not allowed to bring anything with you (including drinks) and you are only allowed to walk barefoot. Flip-flops must be removed before entering the bathing area. This means that you can only go to the toilet barefoot. The bathing area opens from 10-20 hrs. The slides only open at 11:30 am. Here, too, the little ones have to wait a long time. There is hardly any shade and the few sunshades are undersized. Technically and visually, the whole pool area was in good condition. We did not use the spa. Entertainment and leisure We and the children did not use the entertainment except for a few evening visits to the entertainment stage. The walk to the sea takes about 10 minutes and a beautiful sandy beach awaits you. There are supervised and designated areas for swimmers and bodyboarders from 11am to 7pm. You can surf anywhere. The slow train to the beach advertised in the brochure and on the internet was not available, at least during our stay. Shopping facilities As at all campsites, there is also a small supermarket right here. Unfortunately, the prices are just as inflated as the larger supermarket at the end of the access road. It is advisable to go to one of the supermarkets further away. Food in France is generally a lot more expensive than in Germany. We only used the restaurants at the campsite once - ice cream parlor - scoop 2.50 euros - pizzeria - baked ready-made pizza e.g. margarita 9 euros - bar/restaurant/cocktail bar (5 cocktails for 40 euros...all ready-made plonk and just sugary sweet). We were familiar with 5 star campsites in the Netherlands and Austria. In comparison, we give this one a maximum of 3 stars.

Around 7:30 a.m., the refrigerated truck comes to stock the mini-market, 5 to 10 minutes of motoring. 8:30-9 a.m., blower to clean the pool, 45 minutes. Around one o'clock, pool entertainment. Pool crowded, swimming not possible. Almost impossible to get a deckchair. Please note: no swimming shorts,... as the lifeguards make you understand that hygiene requires you to wear a bathing suit. However, you can swim in your DIM briefs, which are fine (yes, I've seen them!). The ocean isn't just outside the campsite, as the map suggests; you have to walk and cross the dune. High supermarket prices, but a super U 500m away at more reasonable prices. In the evening, an orchestra plays loudly until midnight to attract customers to the restaurants. To sum up, go to bed at 0.30am, get up around 8am, no nap, so:BOULES QUIES. Groups of drunken teenagers bawling all night in the toilets are a frequent occurrence. Unfriendly staff.

ligging van de camping: goed, heel dichtbij een mooi strand. On het beach is elke dag tot 19.00 uur strandbewaking. Het lijken misschien wat overdreven (alleen tussen de blauwe vlaggen is het toegestaan de zee in te gaan, met een bodyboard net ernaast), maar de stroming kan heel sterk zijn en de golven... heel hoog (voor kleine kinderen is dit gedeelte van de Atlantische kust minder geschikt). De Franse toeristen zijn heel gezellig in het gebied tussen de blauwe vlaggen (als er een hoge golf komt gaat iedereen juichen!) Zwembad van de camping: gevarieerd aanbod, in werkelijkheid kleiner dan je dacht. Stools min of meer altijd bezet. Good view. Meerdere malen per week animatie in het zwembad( weer veel juichende Fransen). je moet er wel van houden natuurlijk) Animatie: groot aanbod. Leuke show met stieren! Onze zonen went vaak naar de voetbaltoernooien, maar soms was er helemaal niemand. I think it's because the campsite is so big: on a smaller campsite there would be more children here because there is less space. De animatie is iets buiten de camping. Voordeel hiervan: weinig geluidsoverlast. Nadeel: het ziet er wat ongezellig uit, nl direct naast de parkeerplaatsen Als je achteraan op de camping staat heb je weing last van geluid. weiing tot geen geluidsoverkast in de nacht. Er zijn natuurlijk jongeren die van het strand afkomen, maar het is gejoel wat je hoort. Wel is er van ons een koeltas van de waslijn gestolen. Voor kamperen met een tent vonden wij deze camping wat minder geschikt: de plaatsen zijn vrij scheef en heel stoffig( donker zand) Wij hadden een plaats gekregen in wit, waar een aantal bomen op de plaats stond en een boomstronk, Verder liep de plaats totaal scheef. I had notabene een foto gestuurd van onze tent (wij hebben een vrij grote tunneltent van 8x5) en ons was toegezegd dat in de sectie wit er vrij grote plaatsen zijn: niet dus. We got another place (according to me, because it is almost full) in red (this was a perfect location (14a), close to the sanitary facilities and close to the beach) and we had to consider that we did not want to pay for the extra tent. This is only a rule (they ask specifically on arrival if you have 1 tent or more) You have to pay for an extra tent. According to me, everyone shows that he/she has only 1 tent, because there are several other six tents in some places and I can't imagine that these people all have to pay extra. According to me, there is not really more to think about than once you are there. In addition, you have to pay extra, so nothing more can be added. Sanitari: slecht tot zeer slecht: het is duidelijk dat deze camping meer gericht is op de mobile- homes die zelf sanitair hebben. In the red section, there was a plumber with a high pressure spray, but only the plumbing was good and the plumber still had a lot of pressure with barking. I heard from an English tourist who was in pairs that the sanitary facilities were not cleaned properly. Verder: als je een tent huurt kun je ook te maken hebben met plekken die schuin aflopen. De buren had made/meegenomen klossen, anders konden ze niet slapen. Omgeving: je kunt er leuk fietsen, wandelen, hardlopen etc (en natuurlijk het fantastische strand) waar je ook kunt surfen. One can only wonder where 5 * come from! We were very disappointed! 1) Not only deposit, no the total amount must be paid in advance. after the vacation is clear, because otherwise half of the people would leave before. 2) Sanitary facilities: toilet partly without glasses very dingy and not reasonably... protected from the weather. When it rains, you definitely get wet. 3) Shower more than sparse, clothes get wet, shower room open passageway, wind whistles through, not very appealing overall. It is a huge place with even more hustle and bustle around it and then slightly unkempt. In any case, we were served and will never go there again

Camping "Le vieux Port": 5 stars: and for what? We are a close-knit group of campers: we have been traveling to Europe's campsites with 4 to 7 families for many years. Always with the aim of finding a good and clean campsite and then enjoying a relaxed 2 week summer vacation. In 2011 we were traveling... with 7 families: 6 families with caravans and 1 family rented a trailer on the campsite. With children and teenagers aged between 11 and 17, we had a total of 26 travelers. Prepayment We were all familiar with this: good campsites require a prepayment as security when booking. Around 30% of the expected total price is usual, which is not welcome for us travelers, but on the whole is ok. So we paid our deposit after booking. After all, it was a 5* campsite! Final payment 2 months before departure This was new to us: the entire bill also had to be paid approx. 2 months before departure. This is very unusual on campsites, even good ones. As a rule, two people earn money from this method: the campsite owner himself through the interest-free loan over 2 months and very often also a travel cancellation insurance (offered on the side). None of us thought this was great, but as good German campers we paid our entire bill, grumbling slightly. After all, we were looking forward to the great 5* campsite. Arrival and check-in The arrival at the campsite was initially professional. OK, it was peak season and we would have liked more than just 4 staff at reception. So we waited until it was our turn. Everything was already paid for. Despite paying in advance, it took quite a long time, but no matter: we wanted to go to the 5* pitch. A friendly young man with a bicycle showed us our pitches. As the 6 caravan pitches were all in ascending numerical order, we asked the nice young man whether we were allowed to pitch on this total area with the 6 caravans as we wanted or whether everyone had to camp on the exact pitch allocated to them. We were given permission to camp as we wanted. It wasn't a problem, in fact it often happens. Good, we thought, it's a 5* pitch after all. Water and electricity connections Then the first disappointment: What was that? The water and electricity connections were on a, well, what should I call it, "post". Right next to each other or on top of each other. We learned many years ago at school that water and electricity do not belong together. It's better to separate the two. Here, 6 water connections and 8 electricity connections on our leaning post were no more than 30 centimetres apart. And they were very "French" connections. As already written, the post was crooked. And there were no Eurocamping sockets (blue) for connection. Instead, the good old French sockets. Which, of course, none of us campers were prepared for. For a good 10 years now, we've all bought appropriate cables with Eurocamping plugs and sockets. We have also managed with these on all other campsites. As there were no suitable adapters in the supermarket on this site (not even for a lot of money; otherwise you could get almost everything in the site's own supermarket for a lot of money), we resorted to knives, screwdrivers and other tools as in the old days and built our own adapters. They were just as unsuitable for 5* as this entire electricity and water post was unsuitable for 5*. First minus point scored. Cleanliness of the sanitary facilities Then came the real shock. So that we understand each other correctly at this point: Slate electricity post: what the heck; expensive place supermarket: then we'll just go shopping in town. But the sanitary facilities are really important. For this very reason, we have only been going to good 4 or 5-star campsites for many years. Only those recommended by the ADAC or other organizations. And the sanitary facilities on these campsites are
