Peter F.June 2024PozitivnoWhere should I start? Very dog-friendly. Absolutely quiet, perfect to come down. No shiki-micki, sanitary facilities always tip-top, beautiful hiking trails from 12km to 4km. Natural CP. The restaurant is very good, the owner still cooks herself and the game dishes are simply great at an acceptable price. Not overcrowded and something for people who want to relax away from the crowds without the noise of children and in close proximity. The contact by email was very friendly, a reservation was already necessary because of the corona rules. The showers of the campsite were still closed, but there was... a 50% discount on the person fees.
The campsite is easy to reach from the highway and well signposted. We received a friendly welcome. The main focus on the site is on tourist campers, but there are also a few permanent pitches. Some pitches are parceled out but still generously sized. We stood under trees in the desired partial shade, bordered by hedges. There is electricity and water on site. The sanitary facilities are a little older and not big enough for the size of the pitch when fully occupied. A washing machine and dryer are available. As the site is aimed more at senior citizens, there are no playgrounds, but there is a very tasty restaurant. Fresh bread rolls can be ordered in the morning. There is also a bakery and a petrol station in the village. A pond nearby was highly recommended to us, it was really nice there.
Above all, the good connection to various hiking trails and the beautiful nature in the Hunsrück enhance the place. If you like it sporty, we recommend the flow trail in Stromberg for biking. A climb up to the Weißenfels is also worthwhile due to the excellent panoramic view and the wealth of information about the wildcat. You can start hiking directly from the campsite, but also go on beautiful excursions. We were in the Disibodenberg monastery. The individual pitches are very large. The sanitary facilities could be a bit cleaner. There is a restaurant on site. If you love peace and nature, this is certainly the place for you. A very nice welcome, when choosing a pitch we were asked whether we preferred it quiet or busy. As we were looking for peace and quiet, we were given a very nice and quiet pitch. At Weißenfels you can go hiking, Nordic walking or mountain biking... in the beech and oak forest. The paths are very well maintained. The view from the rest area at Weißenfels, a small sea of rocks, to Rheinhessen is fantastic. The rest stop at the square offers solid German food in a cozy atmosphere, e.g. schnitzel in different variations and at fair prices.Samodejno prevedeno.
