- he h.September 2024Pozitivnoplenty of space and privacy, cleanNegativnoA challenge by bike due to the long, constantly steep access route. The camping office is only open until 6 pm.Alternative campsiteThe owner only occupies 50% of his space.
It is important to him that his visitors have plenty of space and privacy.
The campsite is situated near Lahnstein Castle and you have a very good view of the Rhine valley.
Toilets and showers are simple and very clean.
Next to the campsite is a large public outdoor pool with a water slide and a restaurant.
The night sky is fantastic without much artificial light, stars are easy to see!Samodejno prevedeno. - Kathrin S.September 2023PozitivnoThe location is beautiful! You have a gigantically great view! The operator and his staff are very nice and helpful! Everything is very well organized! The sanitary facilities are clean and functional. The place is excellent for people who are looking for peace and quiet, like nature and can enjoy the view!NegativnoWe have not experienced any disadvantages!Highly recommended! We will be back!
It was much nicer there than we had expected.
The place is beautiful; the operator and his staff very nice, friendly and helpful. The site has a wonderful view of the Rhine, Moselle and Stolzenfels Castle. If you are good on foot, you can quickly descend to the town via a path. An excellent location for hikes! The sanitary facilities are functional and clean!Samodejno prevedeno. - Heidi F.May 2022PozitivnoActually a nice well-kept placeNegativnoIn our opinion, the owner is a very bizarre person who wants to tell everyone exactly how they should stand and how they should behave. We were allowed to bring our dog, who is very quiet, but he was not allowed to bark even once. When we asked if we could have visitors for one day, as it was my husband's birthday, this was not desired. As we were concerned that we would be more than reprimanded if our dog made a sound even once and other rules were imposed on us, we left the campsite immediately and found another wonderful one. Because of these events, I would not recommend this site. Relaxed camping looks different. No way!!!We had booked this campsite in advance and told them that we had a quiet dog. We were able to arrive. When we got to the site, it was 2:57 pm. The owner of the campsite, who seemed a little strange to us, told us that it would only open at 3 pm sharp. Of course we waited those 3 minutes. He greeted us... with the words that everything would be done the way he wanted it. He then assigned us a place, which he checked with a folding rule and told us exactly how we had to stand. When asked if our dog barks, we said that he rarely barks, but of course dogs have to bark or make a noise from time to time. He then said that he didn't want to hear barking on this site. We were also not allowed to have any guests. It was my husband's birthday and we wanted to have coffee with two friends in the afternoon. The owner said that he did not want this. Then we got in the car and looked for another nicer place. Something like that is not possible zero recommendation!!!!! We've never experienced this before. Social competence looks different!Samodejno prevedeno.
- Hans N.June 2020PozitivnoRest Location SanitaryNegativnoNo bread service ...Peace and beautiful views in park-like campgroundTranquility and beautiful views
The campsite is a breath of fresh air compared to campsites directly on the Rhine. We found this campsite by chance and were immediately excited. The correct and punctual manager gave us a friendly welcome and the cordial employee pointed out to us almost to the half... meter where our caravan should be. This may seem a bit strict but in this way optimal privacy is guaranteed. The pitches are not delimited and very spacious, much more spacious we have not often or perhaps never seen in our long camping life.
The view of the Rhine from this height resembles a Märklin landscape. The sounds of the trains come through only muffled and that is a world of difference from the campground where we had spent a night before. The plumbing is fine, even separate washrooms for men and you don't come across that often in Germany. Everything is cleaned very well, 4x a day in this corona time.
In the immediate vicinity you can make beautiful walks and cycling along the Rhine and especially the Lahn is also very nice. If you are reluctant to descend to the valley (10%) you can park in Lahnstein for a small amount per day. We had a bike rack with us but also ventured down with the e-bike later in the week. The swimming pool is next door but does not cause any noise pollution. We did not visit the 2 restaurants next to the campsite.
In short, if you like peace, views, cycling and hiking, this campground is recommended!Samodejno prevedeno. - Herby K. H.September 2019PozitivnoVery nice view, nice staff, clean sanitary facilities, close to the Rhine, little noise - quiet at night.NegativnoNo water at the pitches, no WLAN, many sloping, uneven pitches, outdated sanitary facilities,Place with a great viewThe beautiful location of the site outweighs the few negative points. It is one of the very few campsites on the Rhine that is almost unaffected by traffic and railroad noise. You have peace and quiet here as far as possible. Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities are outdated, but clean and well-maintained.... There are two restaurants near the site where you can eat well. Of course, the endless cycle paths along the Rhine are fantastic, but also along the Lahn - very idyllic with good places to stop for refreshments, only the way back to the campsite without an e-bike up the hill is very, very arduous.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Hans-Peter L.May 2018PozitivnoView - outdoor pool - peace and quietNegativnoBicycle can only be used to a very limited extent due to geographyBeautiful place at altitudeWe were there for a long weekend in May when the outdoor pool next door opened this year, the place is specially managed which is not meant badly \_ who cares where the seating area is or what kind of TV reception you have, so you prevent negative situations, for us it was ok, well you can leave your bike at home but the outdoor pool next door from 18:00 small entrance super, the view fabulous, otherwise everything clean as it should be.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Mauro C.May 2018Pozitivnonice staff, good location, small kiosk and peace and quietNegativnonothing found1st overnight stayFirst of all, very big praise to the older couple and the owner, they are so nice and kind-hearted. The campsite is on the mountain and you have a fantastic view of the valley, the place is not so crowded you have a lot of space for yourself. Sanitary facilities super clean as well as the whole CP. Nearby is a castle and an outdoor pool, great for a short vacation. Lg Tina & UweSamodejno prevedeno.
- Brian B.July 2017PozitivnoQuiet, close to Koblenz, outdoor swimming pool nearbyPeace and quietThe site is quiet, there is a nice view of the Rhine. The owners of the site make a lot of effort to keep it clean and tidy. If you listen to their instructions, you'll be fine.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Johnny B.April 2017It couldn't be more unfriendlyLahnstein is a beautiful town and worth a visit, but the campsite is more for pensioners, not for young families. Younger people won't have any fun there. Very unfriendly staff at the campsite.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Alfred G.September 2016PozitivnoOnly the view of the Rhine Valley, that's all there is to it.NegativnoThe price is too high for what is on offer. 18-22 Eur in other comparable places. Just for the view........na yes!!!Price-performance totally wrong. Sanitary facilities of a simple kind. altogether too expensive! The place is well run, everything clean and in order. But nevertheless, the price of 28.50 Wowa PKW and 2 Pers.zu high!!! In addition, no wifi showers 0.50 Eur. Electricity extra per kwh.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Günter V.September 2016PozitivnoVery beautiful location behind Lahnstein Castle with a view of the Rhine Valley. The vehicles are parked well away from the neighbors.NegativnoNot suitable for cycling due to the mountainous location.Very beautifully situated place above the Rhine valleyWe visit the place again and again when we are in the area. The location and the view are just great. You can choose your pitch together with the very friendly groundsman. Care is taken to ensure that the vehicles have enough space between them. The sanitary facilities are no longer the most modern but... are well maintained. The public swimming pool is right next door. You can walk down to Lahnstein on a narrow footpath in about 15 minutes. You can also take the bus, the bus stop is about 300m from the campsite. Cycling up here is difficult due to the mountainous location.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Hans-Jürgen W.August 2016PozitivnoLocation, view, peace and quiet, large pitches, cleanlinessNegativnoWe didn't miss anything. This campsite is worth its price. This time we came for the "Rhine in Flames" and stayed for a few days. The site is not for bargain hunters. But everything is just right. Generously sized pitches with a wonderful view of the romantic Rhine Valley and Stolzenfels Castle (next door is the medieval Lahneck Castle and the public outdoor... pool with discounted entry for campers). Particularly quiet site layout. Spotlessly clean sanitary facilities. Well-kept terrain. Of course, you have to pay for the generous site design and the high level of maintenance. But both are worth it. Here you can enjoy a relaxing vacation in beautiful surroundings.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Ingo M.June 2016PozitivnoNice view, relatively quiet, good location at the castle, close to the cityNegativnoNot for families, strict rulesGood for senior citizens, bad for familiesUnfortunately, we couldn't enjoy the great view of the Rhine Valley because with two children (8 + 10) we had to stand on the dreary 1960s playground, even though there were still a number of pitches with a view available. Despite relatively hefty prices (33.50 for a motorhome for four), we had to pay... extra for electricity and showers, which meant we ended up paying almost 40 euros - far too much! All in all, we didn't feel welcome as a family - maybe in 30 years with a dog! Too bad, because the place has potential.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Thomas K.October 2015PozitivnoGreat view of the RhineNegativnoI can't think of anything at the moment. Maybe that it doesn't have wifi.A great placeWe were at this wonderful place in October. With its view of the Rhine, this place is something quite extraordinary. The staff are very friendly. By far the best place on this vacation. Everything is clean and well-kept. Unfortunately there is no wifi.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Ralf O.May 2015PozitivnoLocation above the city, quiet, great view,NegativnoOlder sanitary facilities.Superb location right next to Lahneck Castle with a view of the Rhine ValleyThe location could hardly be better, much quieter than usual in the Rhine Valley and great views towards the Lahn and Rhine. Quiet place but without W-Lahn possibility. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The sanitary facilities are clean but getting on in years. Swimming pool right next doorSamodejno prevedeno.
- Friedrich M.May 2015PozitivnoLocation, friendliness, leisure facilitiesNegativnofor me noBeautiful place in a prime locationThe site manager and his friendly team are friendly and always ready to help. On arrival, the pitch is allocated and help is given to set up the caravan. This makes sense, because the boss arranges the units so that everyone has enough space and always has a view of the Rhine. Sanitary facilities: showers... cost 50 cents for 8 minutes = a perceived eternity, shower hose with 2 hanging options at a height of 1.40 cm and 2 m. As so often, you wish there was more space to hang your clothes. There are more than enough showers, toilets and washbasins. Everything was always absolutely clean. There is a small kiosk. Bread rolls were available to order in advance. We had a bike rack with us and always used it to drive down to the Rhine by car and only cycle from there, as we reached retirement age a long time ago. And now for the best part: the campsite has a sensational location at an estimated 100 m above the Rhine and the Lahn. We recommend you take a look at the pictures on the homepage and nothing has been embellished.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Anja S.October 2014PozitivnoInsider tip, not overcrowded CP with large pitchesNegativnoWe didn't have one for this one overnight stay.....A pearl from the 60sWe became aware of it through a tip from a camper on our round trip. We didn't find any wellness temples, overloaded entertainment programs and hi-tech facilities. Instead, we found a very well-kept and clean CP, but still with electricity and water supply at central points. The site operator allocates... the pitches. You have a wonderful view over the Rhine and Stolzenfels Castle. The sanitary facilities are old, but very clean. Showers cost €0.50 for 8 minutes. The restaurant next door is also recommended (Bulgarian cuisine).Samodejno prevedeno.
- Tine G.May 2014Pozitivnoextravagant, delightfully quirky ;-)the long steep ascent is worth it !!!We found the place rather by chance and were totally taken with the location and the well-kept lawn :-). With the bike full of luggage up there and then come to such a nice, charmingly quirky groundskeeper, who is also one of the owners of the area and the neighboring castle and is also responsible for... its preservation and while you are still wondering where you ended up here, you get a bit of a Rocky Horror Picture Show feeling :-). no no: a really great place, the restaurant next door is also great and the swimming pool next door - simply fantastic. By the way: they only allow a limited number of visitors onto the site so that it doesn't get too full and the guests (according to the operators) don't have enough space available. Great, isn't it?Samodejno prevedeno.
- Sabine/Björn L.May 2014PozitivnoBeautiful view of Stolzenfels and the Rhine valley. Very quiet.NegativnoOutdated equipment, many rules.Beautiful view, but that's itSmall, simple campsite directly above Lahnstein. The view of Stolzenfels Castle is great, but you also pay for it. The facilities are rather outdated, you are still charged per kW, there is no waste water/water at the pitches and the pitches at the front on the slope with a view offer few hedges or similar... boundaries to the neighbors. I haven't seen showers with coin-operated machines in the corridor (!) anywhere for years and the single instantaneous water heaters with alternating lukewarm/hot water are no longer up to standard. But you can't complain about cleanliness. A lot of emphasis is placed on peace and quiet, which you get, except on the pitches that face the main road at the front. There is a small store with a bread roll service. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Lahneck Castle is a 5 minute walk away and offers guided tours.Samodejno prevedeno.
- Martina K.May 2014PozitivnoImpressive location on a hillside with far-reaching views and outdoor pool next to it. Many sights are within easy reach, cycling is possible until you drop.NegativnoWe had to climb a steep hill and didn't like the restaurant. Better to go to the Maximilian beer garden on the Rhine in Lahnstein.Successful short vacation in beautiful surroundingsWe spent 4 nice days there, the area is great, the place is quiet in itself but the noise (train, road) still penetrates upwards, but is not bad with the location. The staff are super friendly and gave us lots of tips for excursions. The road is already a challenge for cyclistsSamodejno prevedeno.
