We got our pitch next to the pub - it was always busy. The site makes a very well-kept impression and the sanitary facilities are also super clean.
The site is ideal for excursions into Franconia. Würzburg, Volkach, etc.

C.June 2023PozitivnoLocation on the Main, sanitary area TOP, friendliness, Womo parking space equivalent to camping, nice restaurant with terraceNegativno---A very nice place on the Main in a quiet locationBeautifully situated directly on the Main, right next to the €1 ferry to Nordheim, is this small campsite with just 100 pitches. It consists of two parts: the actual campsite with parceled, but not separated, pitches on grass (most of them also with a small paved/concrete surface) and the "Wohnmobilhafen"... in front of the campsite with about 20 pitches, also on grass with a small gravelled area. As the campsite is actually always "open" and you are really in a very, very quiet area on the Main, the Womo pitch doesn't feel "outside". In addition, all guests on the pitch also have access to all the campsite facilities.
The campsite has two sanitary blocks, one of which is brand new and has a very classy look, the other is of a very good standard, a proper restaurant with a terrace and indoor area and a bread roll service.
Of course there is also a dishwashing area - very clean, very modern. Overall, the facilities are of a very good standard. The two owners are very Franconian and that is meant nicely. They are always very friendly and there is a solution for every problem - great!
The pitch is not a bargain at €36 (camper van, 2 people) plus electricity (€1 per KWh). However, the great location, the standard of the sanitary facilities and the immediate "good vacation feeling" justify the price.
The Womo pitch is cheaper and in my opinion not a bit worse (except perhaps for those who want to be in the "front row" on the Main) for €26 per night (also plus electricity at the coin-operated column). The distance to the sanitary area is further from some pitches on the campsite than from the Womo pitch. Especially as the pitch with a few trees, a good meadow and plenty of space has more of a camping atmosphere than a pitch.

You can go on lovely bike tours, and there are some nice little wine villages in the area.
The ferry to Nordheim is right next door, Volkach is not far away and you can hire kayaks there to paddle around the Main loop.
The... restaurant on site has very good food, mainly snacks and good cakes.
Only the pitches are a bit unfavorable, mostly totally paved with H-stones. Unfortunately, we couldn't pitch our tent without the appropriate nails or we would have wasted a lot of space. The pitches are also quite small and the caravans are very close together. As there is no obvious boundary to the plot, a neighbor has made himself very wide, occupying almost all the green space in front of us with his car, additional tent, SUP boards and bicycles. The location directly on the Main with ferry to the "Maininsel" between the vineyards almost with a Mediterranean flair. We had spontaneously chosen this campsite because of the very good reviews. I can only agree with the consistently good reviews. This is a genuine and honest 4-star campsite. Beautifully laid out, natural site directly... on the Old Main and at the Nordheim Main ferry. Very friendly welcome and very nice briefing on our pitch from the manager. The Corona hygiene concept has been implemented 100%. The washbasins and sinks are separated from each other with plexiglass. The sanitary facilities are cleaned and disinfected several times a day. The boss and her daughter still do the cleaning themselves and set a really good example. The pitches are mowed as soon as you leave. Top! The pitches are large and some are even concreted. There is plenty of electricity and it's close to the pitches. Water too. The paths are well surfaced and wide enough. The approach to the campsite is easy to master. It's quiet here because the rules are followed and they're enforced in a friendly manner. Bread roll service is available, as is a small, fine pub. A nice place to linger and slow down. Not for party campers. Several bathing spots, canoeing or kayaking is really good.
You should be able to swim quite well, the current should not be underestimated. There is no children's playground or similar. Sanitary facilities were... always super clean, bread service good - on weekends / public holidays there are no bread rolls, only bread. In the afternoon from 3 pm there are changing customers / cakes in the restaurant belonging to the place - highly recommended, also to take away (bring your own plate).
A good place to explore the area. Only the next shopping opportunity is a little further away, there is no small store for the essentials nearby.
But you can enjoy wine tastings in the village.Samodejno prevedeno. - J M.October 2019PozitivnoLocation, tranquillity, friendlinessVery beautifully situated, quiet campsite on the MainThe site is located directly on the Main, by the ferry to Nordheim, in the front row with a very nice view of the oxbow lake, with the pretty village of Escherndorf at the foot of the "Lump" vineyard behind it. The other pitches have different levels of sunlight, are partially paved in the seating area... and vary in size. The friendly, resolute boss shows you around the site in person. Together with the family, everyone makes every effort to guarantee organization, cleanliness and the personal well-being of the guest. Unfortunately, there is only one wash house with water supply and disposal - you have to walk a little further in some places..... There are several winegrowers in Escherndorf, for other basic foodstuffs you have to go as far as Volkach (20 minutes by bike). Otherwise you can cycle, hike, drink, relax, swim in the Main in summer or visit the friendly and good restaurant and get to know nice people...Samodejno prevedeno.

We always get a nice place for our various tents, caravans and motorhomes on an unparceled meadow (of course with electricity). CP operators put a lot of thought into their facilities and provide the framework to ensure that users' ideas and wishes are met in the best possible way. Example: In the sanitary facilities, there is not a "worn-out... squeegee", but a new squeegee AND a Rasant cleaning rack for wiping up. Microfiber cloths are available at the washbasins so that you can wipe clean after use, etc. Good for an overnight stay or a few days to explore the Main/nearer surroundings by bikeSamodejno prevedeno.

The site is clean and well-kept, the restaurant is good with small dishes and delicious cakes. We got stranded here by chance on the way back from Austria in the summer and I came back for a week in the fall. the welcome was 😊 friendly. The disadvantage is that the senior manager simply tries to accommodate everyone who arrives, which means the place is sometimes overcrowded.... However, this is obviously not done out of greed but the lady wants to please everyone. The food in the campsite restaurant is simple, Franconian but very good. The activities in the area are very varied. The sanitary facilities are very well maintained with normal occupancy of the CP and the pitches are sometimes cramped given the current sizes of the WM and WW. There is also no decentralized water supply on the site. So you have to use a jug, but that's not a bad thing. In October we paid around €34 per night for 3 adults, 1 dog and electricity for the pitch with camper van and car. We will be back.Samodejno prevedeno.
