Ju E.May 2024PozitivnoPure relaxation, very friendly and competent staff, sanitary facilities on the pitch, bread roll service with delivery, very helpful manager, clean sanitary building, good restaurant and café with events, well-kept grounds, tourist, dog and long-term pitches with comfort, home port, dog meadow, wellness with saunas, relaxation room and much more.NegativnoI have not noticed any disadvantages to date.Very well managed camping and bungalow parkI found the site in Wehlinger Heide purely by chance on the Internet and then visited it by appointment. I really liked the variety of offers, vacation, long-term or permanent pitches in a quiet and relaxing area, close to the Haard nature reserve, the Wesel/Datteln canal and surrounded by flowering... meadows and fields. I looked for a free pitch and immediately booked a long-term pitch with sanitary facilities and storage room on the plot from 26.5. to 21.7.24 at a reasonable price. After almost 4 weeks I am still delighted. Even the manager is on hand to help with small problems and is always very friendly. The friendliness and competence can also be found among all employees. I live in Essen in a detached house on 1400 square meters in Siepental. Nevertheless, I feel very comfortable on the 100 to 120 square meter pitch, no annoying telephone ringing, no street noise, absolute peace and quiet, plus the daily bread roll service, bicycle tours to the reservoir in Haltern, through the Haard, along the canal, etc. ensure a stress-free stay. Delicious food in the restaurant, also to take away, peace and relaxation in the 90 degree sauna for 10 euros with no time limit, undisturbed walks with the dog through the woods and meadows are just some of the possibilities on offer here. The price/performance ratio is 100% right here. I have already booked a long-term pitch with sanitary facilities for 10 weeks in 2025. We had a comfort dog pitch with our own bathroom and an additional room for washing up.
A mesh dog fence is also part of the pitch, which... you can easily attach to the ground with pegs.
A path led directly into the fields, which was great for walking the dogs.
It was less than a 5-minute walk to the fenced-in dog run.
Unfortunately, some dog owners still don't manage to clean up after their dogs (but that's not the site's fault!)
The food in the restaurant is delicious, the portions are large and the price is perfectly acceptable and not at all overpriced.
We didn't eat on site with two dogs and a child, but it's no problem to take the food with you.

The first visual impression of the site was good, but the sanitary facilities were very negative. Two small wooden stalls as toilets and a shower house were outdated and smelly. It was good that we had booked our own sanitary facilities on site. However, you had to switch on the boiler 30 minutes before use. Every time. I wonder what the legionella bacteria have to say about that? The next morning at 8.30am, 2 employees wanted to cut the hedge on the pitch. We were having breakfast and needed to recover from the noise of the night. The waterfall and the fountain were unbearable. From 10pm onwards, young people were partying by the pond. The noise continued during the day. MAs drove across the square even during the lunch break. The lady (blonde) was nice on arrival. But her colleague (dark hair) was very snotty and unfriendly. We left early after 3 days. Of course we didn't get our money back. We will never visit this place again.The noisy campsiteWithout words. Never again.

Markus S.May 2023PozitivnoThe biggest advantage was that we only stayed for a week.NegativnoMrs. Fischer (the one with the short, dark hair).Recreation park?When we booked by phone, we said that our caravan was just under eight meters long and that we needed a correspondingly large pitch. When we got there, we actually had space for the caravan, the awning and just enough for the car. However, we wouldn't have been able to move around much on the plot. Then... (and I've never experienced this before) the gray water connection was in the middle of the plot. In other words, the connection was under the tent carpet. Somewhat annoyed, we went to reception. There, an extremely arrogant, rude Ms. Fischer (she gave us her name, but it could be different) with short, dark hair told us that we could go home if we didn't like the pitch. Unbelievable, unbelievable! The other really nice and great colleague of Mrs. Fischer took care of the problem and took exceptionally good care of another place. TOP!!!!! I give this lady five stars. Today we wanted to complain about neighbors who really make a racket from early in the morning until late in the evening (a conversation with these neighbors unfortunately did not work). Once again, this Mrs. Fischer (the one with the dark, short hair) was there and was talking to a friend in front of reception. She hardly paid any attention to me and my wife. When I told her that we wanted to complain about our neighbors, we were told that the boss wouldn't be back until Monday. I told her that it wouldn't do us any good as we were leaving on Sunday. She replied that we could write an email. Such people have no place in the service sector, dear CP operator! PS: no reception at all on the pitch with O2. Neither telephone nor internet. Should also be mentioned on the homepage. And if hardly anyone sticks to rest periods, you don't have to mention them in the terms and conditions.Samodejno prevedeno.

The pitch was not suitable for caravans with an awning, despite the fact that all dimensions had already been specified before booking. So we stood there without an awning. The private sanitary facilities are very modern, unfortunately they were not... quite as clean. The washing-up area behind it was clean and very spacious. Permanent campers directly behind us, very friendly. Many walking and cycling paths. The sauna is hidden away. Restaurant available, but was closed from 1.1.23, and closed on New Year's Eve. Large vending machine in front of the restaurant with soup, sausage, milk, eggs, jam, cheese etc. from regional farmers. Hardly stocked at our time and was not replenished during this time. Bread roll service is great, bread rolls are deposited in American letterboxes directly on the pitch. A... bread roll service is offered every morning and the rolls are delivered directly to the motorhome.
There is also an e-bike rental service for €30 per day.
The sanitary building is small and was mostly clean. Men and women shower and go to the toilet separately.
The restaurant on site is small and reservations are recommended. The food was delicious and the service staff friendly.
The friendly receptionist patiently answered every question.
There is a small sauna area for relaxing, but we didn't use it.
A self-service kiosk will be available soon.

Of course, this is not the operator's fault, but perhaps someone should walk around the site in the evening and have a look. The site rules (quiet time from 10 p.m.) are pointless if they are not enforced.Sleep is out of the questionAnother example of how a stay on a great campsite can be ruined by the inconsideration of others. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a spacious pitch with sanitary blocks directly on the site, including a small scullery. Very comfortable! Unfortunately, you can only shower with hot water for a maximum of 6 minutes... after turning on the boiler 45 to 60 minutes beforehand. But it's still sufficient once you've adjusted to it. The location near the Wesel-Datteln canal is ideal for cycling.
The restaurant on site offers very tasty food at fair prices.
We had the bread roll service included, which delivered 4 fresh bread rolls directly to the pitch every day for 2 people. We can recommend it. Bread rolls were fine and fresh.
There is no adjoining store or kiosk. However, there are two vending machines near the restaurant where you can buy food such as milk, grilled meat, sausage and sweets.
Negative: Unfortunately, as a couple you only get a second chip on request, which you need for toilets, showers, washing up and access to the pitch.
Only very limited opportunities to use the W-LAN at central points.
Disposal station for chemical toilets could be improved.

Bad wifi and cell phone serviceWell suited as a base for cycling tours.We stayed there for a weekend with the caravan. The reception is friendly.
The site is very well maintained and in very good condition. The sanitary facilities are very clean and modern.
Some pitches have their own bathroom/toilet. These are very small and unfortunately not comfortable for people over... 190 cm tall. We do not understand why only half of the cottage was used for the rental bathroom. The second half is empty and was not used by us.
The pitch is parceled out with high, opaque hedges. Campers can be heard, but rarely seen due to the hedges. We personally didn't like that. We prefer the contact-friendly, open layout.
Bread roll service available on site. Unfortunately only from around 8:30 am. We would have liked to have had it much earlier so that we could start our planned bike tours in the morning. There is no store on site.
The site is very scenic and quiet. Unfortunately, we had the misfortune of having very loud and inconsiderate permanent campers as neighbors, who had loud barbecue parties late into the night and a dog that barked almost continuously all day. So if you are looking for peace and quiet, you should avoid the party people on Eichenweg and avoid the tourist pitches on the adjacent Buchenweg, at least at weekends.

We came from Swabia to see Starlight Express and chose this pitch with its own bathroom and dishwashing house for our week's vacation. It was really great. Unfortunately, as has often been said, there is no small kiosk as there is nothing to buy in the... immediate vicinity. I would not recommend this site for families with children.... there is nothing and certainly not for teenagers. We went to the restaurant once. It's really nice....but our Swabian palate is probably a bit spoiled :-) It was ok. If this place was in our area we would come back anytime, but for 450 km it was a one-time thingSamodejno prevedeno.

The pitches and chalets are arranged around the central fish pond. Electricity, fresh water and waste water are available on the plot, which is bordered by young hedges. The sanitary facilities are modern and always clean. Access is via RFID chip. Unfortunately, there are... no shower facilities for the disabled. However, the friendly staff have also found a solution for this.... I also enjoyed the bread roll service to the pitch....Samodejno prevedeno.

I booked anyway and almost fell over on arrival! This little paradise lies in the middle of the fields in the deepest Ruhr area! Large plots, parceled out by hedges, designed with great attention to detail. There is a large bridge that leads... over a fish pond, and there is also a beach with beach chairs and loungers where you can listen to the frogs croaking over a beer in the evening. Despite Father's Day, it wasn't noisy on the pitch. Electricity, water and waste water at the pitch. Private sanitary facilities possible, and they are awesome! General sanitary facilities are unfortunately rather rare with 3 per gender, so you sometimes have to wait.the showers are tip top, beautifully designed, very well maintained, you are happy to pay the 50 cents per shower. Restaurant on site, but externally operated, therefore not rated here. Shopping is a 10-minute drive away, there's nothing on site. In the morning there is a bread roll service, the rolls are even delivered to the pitch. There is also a sauna. There is a small playground, but it is not very attractive. In short, we were absolutely impressed and will definitely be back. You can book the use of toilets/showers for a fee, but you don't have to. 2 pitches have electricity, 2 other pitches also have water available. We also heard the disturbance from gardening work mentioned in some... reviews on Fridays, but it was finished by 6 pm and didn't bother us. The grounds of the campsite are extremely beautiful; the homepage does not exaggerate. The site is close to one of the many canals around Datteln, which are great for cycling. The sanitary facilities were completely adequate and in very good condition. A bread roll service is available, but the selection was moderate (2 types) and you only get them from 8.30 am. As food was not available on the site, we drove to Datteln (5km). In the restaurant we had enough choice (German cuisine) despite the low occupancy of the pitch; the service was friendly. A small minus is the disposal of the gray water: the floor inlet can hardly be approached in such a way that you can avoid that some gray water runs next to it. I see room for improvement here. As the disadvantages mentioned are not dramatic, we liked the site overall and would come again.Samodejno prevedeno.

All day without a break!Never again!!!We are now on our third day at this "place of relaxation" and are at the end of our tether! Lawn mowers, hedge clippers, trimmers etc. accompany our day! At least 3 workers are active around the clock! The equipment produces a deafening noise, so that it is not possible to relax either during the day... or during the lunch break. What is expected of the guest here is simply indescribable! A telephone pitch inquiry turned into a binding booking, and it was noted that the pitch was yawningly empty, which meant that we had to pay for the whole day on arrival! When we asked, we were told that we had made a binding booking! We were a bit irritated by this, but now we know why! There is no money back, complaints are not considered! Also, the supposedly luxurious sanitary blocks right next to the campsite are only luxurious at first glance! In ours, the lamp above the mirror, the heating and the seal on the shower cubicle are defective so that the entire interior is under water when you have showered! The hand shower and the massage jets are apparently totally calcified and only work partially. There would be a lot more to complain about, but we don't have the time because the last few days of our otherwise relaxing camping vacation, mind you on other campsites, have already taken their toll on us here! Gaby ..July 2017PozitivnoWell-kept and beautifully landscaped ponds Great wellness bungalowsNegativnoDepot atmosphere W-Lan reception as good as never No cell phone networkBungalow park/administration with depot - but no camping feelingOverall, a very well-kept bungalow park with a fish pond and a natural pond with a sandy beach - swimming is officially prohibited in the natural pond. For all campers who have not booked their own sanitary block, there are 3 showers for each gender. These can only be accessed with a transponder, and... it is also only possible to use the two sinks - one of which is difficult to access because there is a washing machine right next to it. Reception is open daily from 10 am! - 1 p.m. and from 3 - 6 p.m.! with constantly changing staff. The most frequent answer to questions was: "I haven't been here that long, I can't tell you that". Bread rolls can be ordered until 5:30 pm on the day of the lecture and are delivered to the caravan/bungalow from Mon-Fri. On Sat-Sun you can pick up baked rolls from the restaurant. Apart from herrings, chemicals for the toilet, labeled sparkling wine and labeled schnapps as well as brochures, nothing else is offered at the reception (drinks/ice cream/emergency provisions - not available). W-Lan is free, but reception is as good as and if there is, then "someone is on the line". Sauna tickets can be purchased during or above opening hours for 7.50 / piece. E-bikes can also be rented for 1/2, 1 or more days from 15.- Euro/each. The restaurant offers a small food and drinks menu with moderate prices - the quality of the food we ordered was good. We had a pitch on the beach path with a luxury sanitary block which was clean on arrival - apart from a few insects and spider webs - which was quite tight for our WW 7.50 m plus awning and car. The sanitary block could be heated as required and the boiler supplied hot water for 8 minutes - then it took about 40 minutes until hot water was available for another 8 minutes. The staff drive around the site in electric cars from about 7:00 am and the depot also starts quite early until about 6:00 pm with noisy outdoor work - which is certainly necessary for the great preservation and maintenance of the facility (it still bothered us). We also missed the usual cordiality and friendliness of the operators at campsites. The boss rides his bike across the site during the day - 5 days no good morning - good afternoon - good evening - nod of the head or "Moin" - as is customary here. But maybe he hadn't even seen us at his speed on the bike! Our conclusion: too much company administration/building yard - for us too little camping/holiday feeling - for those who like it, this place is certainly a good choice.Samodejno prevedeno.- Helmut S.June 2017Long weekend from 14.7.2017 to 18.7.2014We had planned a long, quiet weekend at the Wehlingsheide campsite. Unfortunately it was not ok, the reason: The midday rest should already be observed, driving with the car is prohibited from 13 o'clock to 15 o'clock, only the work of the operator probably not.17.6. was also hammered during the rest... period (on steel girders comes well), sanded, driven back and forth with the forklift, hedge cut, it went on until after 18 o'clock.
