Located on the island, only 10 minutes by bike to the very nice city center (with castle). The sanitary facilities were moderate, they were cleaned, the showers were okay.
There is a food truck restaurant in front of the campsite, which was very nice. And it's not because of the dry summer. The paths are not well maintained, nor are the pitches and the areas around the rental houses. The toilets are unisex and on the outside of the buildings. Both are no longer up to date. The toilets are not cleaned regularly. If you are unlucky, there is no refilled paper in any toilet. There are no soap dispensers. Unthinkable in Corona times. One sink drain has been cleaned for days. The waste water runs through the flushing campers. At reception, we overheard a young Dutch family complaining because they had no hot water in the house. I have no idea where the site got its good ratings from.unfortunately very disappointingBut the glory days seem to be over.

Apart from a freight train in the early morning, we didn't hear anything from the railroad line.
Bread roll service and restaurant are ok. If you want to eat well you have to go into town.
At first... glance, the complex is somewhat confusing. However, this creates many cozy neighborhoods and provides a cozy atmosphere.
The pitches are quite large and shaded by large trees.
The sanitary facilities are modern, clean and well maintained. Unfortunately, the wash houses only have 3 toilets. As the site was very busy, we were allocated a relatively small pitch between mobile homes, but sufficient for just one night. Electricity, water and waste water facilities right next to it. As already mentioned in other reviews: clean, adequate sanitary facilities. The restaurant... has reasonable prices and friendly staff. For sightseeing the town, it is advisable to have a bicycle or other means of transportation (15-20 min walk). Definitely a recommendable site that is reasonably priced for the facilities available (June 2015: 21 euros/night for 2 people with motorhome and electricity)Samodejno prevedeno.
Christian H.September 2014Departed againWe drove away again. As always, we wanted a place where we could get out to the campsite quickly with the dogs. We were reluctant to let the dogs do their business in the camping area. The lady apologized that all the sites in the area were closed and there were only a few places available. She offered us a pitch at the far end. We walked a third of the way and decided to look for another pitch. We found what we were looking for 10 km further onSamodejno prevedeno.

There are only a few pitches with a beautiful view and these have to be paid for separately, but they are really big. Overall, everything is very well maintained. Good location for excursions along the Loire. Stores nearby, easy to reach by bike. Lots of mobile homes,... hardly any campsite character. Swimming pool on CP. You can hear the road from the other side of the river and occasionally the train, even at night. It didn't bother us as it wasn't very loud. CP probably very full in high season.Samodejno prevedeno.
Andrea P.July 2013The campsite is beautifully situated on an island in the middle of the Loire at Saumur. Everything is very clean and the staff are very friendly. From the campsite you have a very nice view of the castle of Saumur and the campsite is well suited for visiting other castles of the Loire or for exploring the surrounding countryside. Lutz H.May 2013The I'Ille d'Offard campsite in Saumur is located at the tip of the Loire island of Offard. The reception is friendly and you are allocated your pitch. With a map of the campsite you can easily find your allocated pitch. We were also asked if we would like a stabilized pitch, which is designed for heavier... motorhomes. Unfortunately, these pitches are not covered with grass, but with fine gravel. There is a swimming pool on the site, but we did not use it. The sanitary facilities are very clean. The water is warm enough for washing dishes. The showers are warm enough and the temperature can be adjusted. The campsite is ideal for passing through. However, you should stay longer. Saumur is definitely worth a detour. The surrounding area is also worth a visit. Wifi is available on the CP. It is free of charge. You get a code and can connect to the campsite's WiFi network. This is also very easy for people who are not computer-savvy.Samodejno prevedeno.- Klaus L.May 2012A beautifully situated campsite on an island in the Loire, we were warmly welcomed by a young German woman and the other staff we met during our stay were also very friendly and helpful, as it had rained for a long time before our arrival, we were advised to stay on a paved pitch. We felt so comfortable... there that we stayed a few nights longer than planned. The sanitary facilities are in good condition and very clean, and despite renovation work on the site we were not disturbed. This campsite is ideal for exploring the lower Loire Valley and there are many places of interest in the surrounding area.Samodejno prevedeno.
