"Once but never again - Cabin rented for 2 nights. Dutch owners. Reception not open until 4 in the afternoon. Prepayment required, never experienced anywhere in Norway. The invoice even mentioned "deposit" but fortunately that was not necessary. However, according to the house rules, there was a "penalty" for not leaving the cottage clean. Dishwasher trays in the general kitchen were tied with chains. You have to pay to use the electric stove. In all languages there are warnings and prohibitions everywhere. Really inhospitable in our opinion. And customer friendly. Forbidden to hang a clothesline. Forbidden to put your car near the cabin (breaks the grass) and so on. Dirty plumbing during the day, and in the morning even dirtier and at 11 a.m. still not cleaned. Hair everywhere, mud, bulging wastebaskets etc. Cold showers. When we told that to the owner in the morning he said dead wrong. As if we would lie about that. The man immediately got angry and literally showed us the door in front of our ten year old daughter. At moments like this we are ashamed to be Dutch. Our advice: do not go here, but please find a nice place somewhere else in the area!

" - Very large, partly slightly sloping meadow, pitch to choose yourself. In the event of prolonged bad weather, the horizontal parts of the pitch are probably very damp or even closed off. Only a few power taps (Schuko sockets), but sufficient due to the small number of campers. Sanitary facilities of average Norwegian standard, but clean. Showers with coin-operated toilets. Pleasant atmosphere, well-kept site. Very friendly staff, site manager also speaks German, but English is preferable. Shopping facilities (KIWI market) in the nearby town - car required. As everywhere in Norway, those traveling with a caravan should not be afraid of mountain roads.

A marvellous site surrounded by the mountains of Telemark and with a unique view on the GautaTOP. The site is surrounded by medieval stonewalls and next to the camping there are different hyttes in the Telemark style. On site we …have a few historical buildings and monuments. Just 10-20 minutes from our park you can explore the wild nature of Norway. Like hiking on the Hardangervidda, one of the largest wilderness in South Norway with an artic climate and more than 11.000 reindeers, or climbing the Gaustatoppen ( 1.833 meters) with on top a view over 1/6 of Norway. If you like history, Rjukan is part of the UNESCO heritage; a nice overview can be find in the Vemork museum. Also in the winter different sports can be done here, skiing at the Gaustablikk skisentre, Nordic walking and most famous is the area for the ice climbers. Rjukan has become known as northern Europe’s premier ice climbing spot. In all seasons it is a party to spend some time here.
